I remember seeing a different version of this. Not the 1980's one with pictures of nature. Around 10 years ago, I saw one like this, with a plane taking off at the end. However, it was in colour, and looked like it was recorded in the 70's or 80's (bad quality). Does anyone know which one I'm talking about?

@SuperJM9 I havent got a clue which one your talking about. From the 80's I remember only the luvy-duvy signing off movie with vids of beaches, flowers, streems and spider webs and sunsets. You can see that one on my channel as well as one I made myself ('Irish National Anthem Movie') for the 2010's (Not that Ireland needs it with channels going 24-7 now, but its nice and patriotic.). Wouldn't mind seeing the movie your talking about though.

@SuperJM9 Making color movies out of black and white ones was not possible with available 1980's computer technology, and you need computer tech to do it on anything more detailed then a tom and jerry cartoon. So you must be talking about a different movie alright.

This piece of RTE footage, is well shot and edited. We all should be proud of our nation, small as it is, nevertheless a great one.

Its a myth that Ireland has become a third world country again. During the Celtic Tiger we were the fourth richest nation on Earth, it doesn't feel quite as extraordinary as it did during the last decade but we have only dropped to the 10 richest nation on Earth. Were still ahead of nations like the UK Germany and France. Do not be so pessimistic. Ireland is the greatest nation on Earth overall and will always be that way unless we get hit by a Haiti sized earthquake.

Even then we would only stop being number one for about 10 years. Be more optimistic.

@menapia1 It is pessimists who don't think Ireland is a wonderful and great nation that are the most dangerous thing for Ireland. Check out statistics over and over for things like national pride, crime rate, standard of living, average income etc. Relative to other nations were happiest nation on Earth still and what doesn't destroy Ireland makes us stronger.
