It's a shame this game went through such a massive transformation in the last year or so of development, it would have been interesting to see how it was when this trailer was created.

Oh and the twilight did exist during this stage of development, there are a couple pictures of it that came out around the same time as this trailer. :p (though it looked considerably different)

First let me say, I love the game! BUT, oddly enough, I was a twinge bit disappointed after beating it and back then I didn't know why. It's disappointing that they took out so many things like the hoards of enemies, open spaces like Hyrule Field and the Forest area (we need more of those IMO), oh yeah, and the difficulty. Twilight Princess seemed pretty easy, but that could also be because I'm kind of a veteran at Zelda games. =P

Anyway, my comment is long enough already, so I'll stop here...

I really like the more realistic look of TP more than the cartoon graphics. I am a huge fan of the older games such as OoT, MM, and WW. But I think that the cartoons should be left for the DS. why make something more technologically advanced where you can make it look realistic if you are just going to keep doing cartoons? No offense to those that like it.

i found out about twilight princess since 2003. everyday i would keep an update for it for anything new.

shigeru miyamoto gave a conference after the first and 2nd trailer that they were thinking "gates of realm" (the poster behind him even titles it).

eventually as time goes by, it was delayed...A MAJOR DELAY....

Beta versions always have better graphics. At least in this case, for me it's clear that that the Game Cube can't do these graphics. Maybe the Wii can do this.

Actually, the forest area seen in this trailer is in the game. It's hidden behind the master sword area. The only way to get back there is to cheat.

Well, I prefer the traditional way 3D Zelda used to look. When Zelda leaped into 3D, they started with grittier, more realistic graphics (Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask), and then switch to cel-shaded cartoons after (Wind Waker). The return of the way 3D Zelda was meant to be was definitely a welcome addition, but I always felt the cartoony atmosphere should be left to the 2D games.

Its quite a sight really. The Nintendo has 2 real main fan bases In Japan and in North America (I know about The rest but from there its very mixed) I think Skyward Sword was sort of a compromise. hence its graphical style

TBH I don't think Twilight Princess lived up to the hype and glee the first two trailers for it caused (well for me at least). If they go with a TP sequel for the Wii, I hope it looks and sounds more like this awesome trailer.

...Fyrus was the only concept in the trailer that made it into the game.

Well, TP was originally was made for GC, but it was ported over to Wii. But it was still really beautiful, and OOT is still beautiful to me too. Its one of the few games that has the best graphics in my book. Besides, critics praise it because it's Zelda, but thats a good thing. It's Zelda, what more could you ask for from a Zelda game rather then it to be itself? The gamplay was fun, the story endearing, the landscape beautiful, what are you looking for in this game?

the landscape to me wasn't beautiful. i am not what you could call a graphic fetishist, but a game should in relation to other games on the market at least look average, but TP as i said it looked ugly. worse than for example star fox adventures. TP of course is better than that game, but I am just referring to your GC-comment, because even the cube could do better. and about the gameplay fun: wasn't much of that for me. nothing really new that would make me go "aaaw!" like before with zelda.

It was a great time when they announced this game. But yeah, the wait was unbearable considering there was no other awesome games from nintendo through 2005 and not until the end 2006. (when the game came out). I can't wait when Zelda is released on the next nintendo console with graphics compariable or better to that of 360 and PS3 games.

SIGH when i look at the opening scene really reminds me of how back then i thought the field was gonna be open like ocarina of time, unlike now that is seperated, and i dont know if anyone notice this but the beta videos at e3 2005 this game had like a cool lighting effect that made the world look real or somewhat, it was like the shining effect that resident evil 4 had, anyway i would pray for the day that nintendo makes the zelda game i been wanting ever since ocarina of time

Beta would be what was shown & played at E3 2006.

this being E3 2004, and since the final game is almost NOTHING like this, it can't be called Beta.
