@FleaIsDaMan For everyone's information Adam Ant was at the very beginning of the British punk movement , the Sex Pistols supported his band Bazooka Joe at the Pistols 1st gig in 1975. In 1976 he was writing songs getting a new band together and if you watch the Filth & the Fury Pistols film you will see Adam clearly at the front at an early pre signed Pistols gig. By 1977 the Ants were formed and many songs such as Hampstead , Fall In , Plastic Surgery & Beat My Guest were performed.
@FleaIsDaMan It should be appreciated that British & early American Punk Rock (1975-78) was quite poppy when looked at retrospectively but was a world away from David Soul & Abba & Leo Sayer that was clogging up the charts at the time. From 1978 onwards Punk went mainly two directions Post Art Punk & more harder aggressive Punk such as GBH & the Exploited. Punk by definition is DO ANYTHING YOU WANNA DO , the Damned & nothing like Magazine for example which for me is why Punk has mass appeal

i dont know if this video suits the song.....it seems a little teenage scene girlish.......trying to mesh a typical youtube video with 80's post punk. i mean just some of it (ie: refer to 2:02 to see example) is just utter crap. not to say this video isnt good i just think it doesnt mesh with the song

This was the b-side to the "Prince Charming" single. That song came out at a time when Adam and the Ants were so very big in the UK whatever they released would become a big hit. It stayed at number one for four weeks. "Prince Charming" was an awful song and I'll bet AATA knew it too! They put it out because it amused them! They made up for it however by putting this on the b-side. This is one case where the song on side b was way better than the song on side a!
@signcrash This was never the b-side to Prince Charming, it was the b-side to Antmusic. Dunno what country you live in and maybe in your country this was the b-side of Prince Charming, but I live in the UK and I bought their records when they came out and I promise you this was not the b-side of Prince Charming.

I posted that it was the B-side of Antmusic then remembered it was the B-side to Stand and Deliver, so I posted again ( I don't know how or if it's possible to cancel a post once it's been sent). If my memory serves me right, I think the B-side to Antmusic was Falling Out (?).

i dont know if this video suits the song.....it seems a little teenage scene girlish.......trying to mesh a typical youtube video with 80's post punk. i mean just some of it (ie: refer to 2:02 to see example) is just utter crap. not to say this video isnt good i just think it doesnt mesh with the song

This was the b-side to the "Prince Charming" single. That song came out at a time when Adam and the Ants were so very big in the UK whatever they released would become a big hit. It stayed at number one for four weeks. "Prince Charming" was an awful song and I'll bet AATA knew it too! They put it out because it amused them! They made up for it however by putting this on the b-side. This is one case where the song on side b was way better than the song on side a!

@signcrash This was never the b-side to Prince Charming, it was the b-side to Antmusic. Dunno what country you live in and maybe in your country this was the b-side of Prince Charming, but I live in the UK and I bought their records when they came out and I promise you this was not the b-side of Prince Charming.

I posted that it was the B-side of Antmusic then remembered it was the B-side to Stand and Deliver, so I posted again ( I don't know how or if it's possible to cancel a post once it's been sent). If my memory serves me right, I think the B-side to Antmusic was Falling Out (?).

@MrMegabreath You're right MrM. I doublechecked my copy of "Stand and Deliver" which I purchased at an indie record shop here in the US (a looooong time ago). It did indeed have "Beat My Guest" as the b-side.
