  • I remember this fondly...love it.

  • wow!!! haven't seen this one in years!!!!

  • wow...the ladies have hair in their armpits...now that's wild! hahaha!

  • They played at Electric Picnic in Ireland 2 years ago.. was too messed up though to get outta my tent to see them

  • I am so happy to see this video again ! last time it was on an old VHS tape... Great music and what an amazing dancer Kid Creole was on this film !

  • How camp is this? Incredible dancing and crooning by the Kid and his saucy Cocounts. Invokes images of Desi Arnez at the Copa on LSCrazy. Too cool! Now I gotta re-watch "Against All Odds" on Netflix.

  • Man, I would give almost anything if I could have seen them sing this live.

    They are the best!!!!!!!

  • They definitely had the magic to take you elsewhwere -man I miss this crew -thanks

  • wow, my hubby loved this song! Thanks for sharing!

  • Good band, Crap no wonder we never heard more form them, Did like a 16 year old intern produce thus. No sorry a 16 year old intern would have done better,

  • super duper song wonderfull winning team, thumb up for orchestra, dancers ... but to me it has actually a bitter taste when we thinck about the kid s relationship with Adriana ...I m saying this because we all love both of them so much

  • I JUST REMEMBER THE 'COCONOUT', I HAD SEARCH FROM ALL ARROUND WEB, IT HARD TO FIND IT.

  • never mind the armpit hair, imagine the glorious bush each of these fine dolls was undoubtedly keeping under those futuristic skirts 8) mmmm

  • @OdoubleTO I too, am an aficionado of The Wookiee. Those little mirror squares hide The Wookiee very well.

  • @DancingSpiderman ...and, these sexy Girlie Girls with that 80's Markie Post hairdo

  • It's in the movie against all odds with jeff bridges and racheal ward

  • Thanks for loading. I added this to My Dad Fav...

    5*****

    Amalia

  • it's true, you can't hear music this good on radio or the music video channels, but you should do what I did: go to a used music store, buy about 8 or 9 old Kid Creole albums and make yourself a dynamite compilation CD or mp3. Highly recommended selections: "I'm a Wonderful Thing, Baby!"...."I'm Corrupt"..."Que Pasa?/Me No Pop I"...."My Male Curiosity"

  • once upon a time...history back ......girls had armpit hair....and a tush bush....then some wierdos decided it had to go !!!...they wanted women hairless...like children ??? what is that about ???.....great band...heavy but joyfull political protest....there's STILL something wrong in paradise....

  • This is from the movie Against all odds with Jeff Bridges ,scene from discoteque withJames Woods First time i saw this as video clip

  • Seen em live :P Twas pretty cool

  • The middle coconut is hot!

  • The armpit hair was just so gratuitously put on to grab attention. Remember how much shock-value was abused in the early 80s. Now it's just kinda lame.

  • @nongthip fuck up! put on! you think they glued that stuff on for attention?

    ahahahaha

they are clearly silver ladies who like flicking themselves off and they clearly couldn't have given a shit about armpit hair. as if armpit hair is more sensational than good music from a smooth daddy and three sensational hot to trot coconuts!

  • i absolutely agree with islandmonkey007!

  • The armpit hair on the female dancers is sexy.

  • @islandmonkey007 Not my cup of tea but love the song!

  • ill always remember being in la wit jill

  • This is the greatest, I remember it from the movie, "Against All Odds" with a fairly young Jeff Bridges

  • Music being played by an actual band!!! How often do you see, or hear that in music today???!!!

  • @MrJP75 - though much of the drumming was machines, but otherwise you're right.

  • ol' Augie can MOVE, can't he? I'd like to see him dancin' when he's not singing sometime.

  • Diggin that pit hair oh yeah! lol. This was one of the highlights of the movie against all odds imo.

  • I was watching "Encore" television and a movie came on called "Against All Odds" (Jeff Bridges)....This was the club scene in that movie. I had forgotten about this song. I was 12 or so when we used to listen to it. I just went on Amazon and bought Kid Creole's anthology. This was "feel good" music. Also......check out the hairy arm pits on the Coconuts. WOW.....

  • @stocklaroc yeah i seen this scene on a movie once apon a time, then googled it.... unique!

  • ....Eravamo tutti dei ragazzini quando andavano alla grande....Ora diciamo che siamo tutti giovani dentro!!!:-)

  • Best part of Against All Odds.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG ... it's my MANTRA, at least is was once upon a time LOL

  • Reminds me of my days as a nightclub diva in San Diego in the 80's!

I put on the dog and stopped traffic back then...now I get hit by cars trying to cross the road.

  • Wyat's up? The armpit hair is the best thing about them!

  • also, other than the armpit hair, These Chicks WERE HOT!lol

  • OMG! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! for finding and posting this!

  • Thanks for posting this one. Kid Creole was THE MAN in the 80s.

  • Thank you for posting this, its a great song

  • dr. buzzards rocked! but kid creolle is great too!

  • WOW! i can't believe i've found this. thank u so much!

  • hairy armpits, yuck!

  • that was chic for that time,

A girl was unsexy if she didn't have hairy armpits

  • amen

  • This guy is smooth as hell, I can kinda see where Morris Day may have gotten his inspiration from. Check out stool pigeon that shit is tight

  • Love the brass guys too, They were the epitome of cool, then and now!

  • The 80's. A decade of Big Hair, Glam, Glitter, and hairy armpits (apparently)...

  • This song is real cool and its on the Against All Odds soundtrack and in the hit 1984 film too.

  • all i can say is the music is oldskool but the armpits are HIDEOUS LOOOOL,

  • coconuts = total hotness!!!!!

  • Oh God. I so agree with you. Shame, cos the girls are so pretty. I seem to remember that the Coconuts were German or Dutch or something. Hairy armpits must be a European thing - I don't know. It's still yucky.

  • Comment removed

  • Coconuts: Do the word "Nair" mean anything to you?

  • Oh, their legs look smooth enough. That's good enough, hehheh.

  • I love love and love the coconuts

  • Cab Calloway meets Desi Arnaz meets Prince in the bathroom and kicks his scrony faggot ass. Morris and the Kid would jump in there too if they heard anyone compare them to Prince.

  • lmmfao!@Cab Calloway meets Desi Arnaz meets Prince!! OMG...that is tooo funny and on point!!

  • Morris Day's image is a combination of Kid Creole and Satch of the Ohio Players.

  • I loved Kid Creole. Too bad you can't hear this kind of music on the radio nowadays.

  • @gazoontight Look up Movits!, Caravan Palace, or Parov Stelar

  • thanks!!

  • Morris Day should pay Kid Creole royalty checks!

  • I wonder what the connection is there. Day is soooooo much like Kid!

  • Is that True that Kid Creole is Andre3000 Father, just look at them, they look alike on every angle...

  • Hairy armpits are OK, you IDIOT!!!!

  • Maybe if your man, Barzouf94...

You must be idiot than me...

  • Are those Girls, have Hair on their Armpit?

  • AMAAAAZING! i love the dancing and the hair arm pits hahaha

  • the "mask " movie stolen style to KCATC

    one best song "pop"80's

  • Ah, this is from 'Against All Odds'. I had been trying to remember the movie. I love the Coconuts hairy armpits.

  • I love these guys

  • Me Too!

    OOOOOOOOOH-Curiosity!

  • reality, they are music history

  • This is one of my favorite groups of all time. Their off beat style is very appealing.

  • Very Good!!!

  • Kid Creole for ever !!!

  • This is my favorite Kid Creole and the Coconuts song. I saw them live at the Palace in Hollywood whenever they came out here and I always thought those hairy armpits were cool. Does anyone have, "If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife". If you do please post the video.

I love the early eighties cult bands. I liked it when they brought that real monkey to the show. That big band carribean sound is so unique!!! I wish they made it big in the U.S.

  • are u talking about prince the little prick who wouldnt know good music if it kicked himin his littleboney ass??? kid creole WAS the sound of the 80s and if you dont agree what are you doing on here???

  • why does the video end before the song is over?

  • If you play the video LA BOLA DE CRISTA-La curta parte-EI 4 hombre, and advance it 1.07 to avoid that stupid shit in the begining you can see the whole video from begining to end it's good

  • The hottest live act ever! I still wet dream over the coconuts!

  • kid creole is my best friends uncle.

  • Ok I was 10 when this came out. I must have had good taste then. I thought the girls were hot then and even though theyre probably 50ish now...if the look the same I'd lick their hairy armpits...ok maybe not but the song was hot the choreography hot and Kid himself had madd Swagg...did I mention the girls were hot?? You won't find many BROTHERS that even know this song, so I cant be wrong!!! lol ... memories memories, thanks for posting, upload complete version if possible please

  • This was one of the best parts of the movie Against All Odds! I have always loved the Kid and the Coconuts!

  • Where's is the part where he was dancing at the end ?? Can't post the clip without that. please post

  • this one's a pretty nice song :-)

i like kid's moves! and the coconuts are hot too!

  • look at the coconuts..they are sexy..

  • Hairy arm pits??? This has never been hot, even in 1985

  • Were you around in 1985?

  • I was there and long before that.

  • Then you have been around long enough to know it is one of those beauty is in the eye of the beholder types of deals. To me they were as hot in 1985 as they were back in the 60's and 70's :)

  • I don't say they are ugly, far from that. But hairy arm pits were not "in" in 1985, especially in the USA. I franckly believe that this was done on purpose, as joke, like that song.

  • assolutamente meraviglioso,la più bella canzone di kid

  • Against All Odds

  • this guy is like a twin brother of prince.

  • Besides skin tone, this guy looks nothing like Prince. Prince is one of the most talented and prolific musicians I can think of to date. Carlos Santana refers to him as one of the greatest guitar players ever. He is a complete master (and I mean MASTER) on a wide variety of instruments. His moves on the dance floor AND the business world have people's jaws dropping in awe. Kid Creole had a gimmic that ran it's course leaving behind the only real impact he had... 3 hot chicks with hairy armpits.

  • Hallelujah!!!!!

where should I mail my offering?

  • You are so fucking wrong, it's laughable. Prince is a genius, yes, but August Darnell is a genius as well. Fucking Prince himself would tell you this if he would ever speak to you, but why would he?

  • August Darnell is a fine musician and producer. However, Prince writes, produces, and mostly plays all the instruments (yes, not all the time), as well as writes #1 hits for a multitude of other artists that he produces. Prince is also in complete (that's 100%) control of his career. That includes everything from the music to costumes to promotion, booking, management, etc.. Prince was and is an iconic presence in the music industry. Sorry. Kid Creole was a blip in the history of music.

  • These are the three girls in the lineup he had at the Roxy on Sunset...an these are the same dresses they were wearin then too!!The one in the gold dress is HOT...an all three of em can dance the FUK outta the whole SET too!!Wicked...A+

  • Hair in their armpits? Unlike the closet pedophiles that are catered to by the media these days, I prefer my women to be women and not little girls. Last time I checked (and I check often) women are supposed to have hair in certain places. Now, I'm not talking about some crazy Bigfoot Sasnatch shrubbery, but I find a hairless woman to be creepy...and guys that prefer that even creepier.

  • Simple, it's because they're coconuts.

  • Yes some hair is nice.

  • And I mean hair in the nether regions not in the arm pits-- just to clarify. ;)

  • Too much information.

  • hairy armpits were IN back then?

  • Hairy armpits were not in back then. I saw Against All Odds when it came out and my date and I thought it was strange that the coconuts had hairy armpits. I thought they did it as a joke. Maybe they did it for publicity. All I can say is that I remember their performance because of the hairy armpits 25 years later and I don't remember much else about the movie.

  • one of my top ten movies of all time. i like how phil collins' song for the movie was perfect.

  • No just European women didn't shave much then. They are probably German or Scandinavian

  • his wife at the time was one of those dancers and she is european. in one of these videos you can see the wife and the rest talking about the group.

  • dang! this used to be my favorite song MANY years ago, thanks for sharing, brought back memories!

  • The 12inch version sound so much better!!!

  • This was part of that James Woods movie...Against All Odds...

  • Hair is real - hey what happened to Kid Creole and Coto Mundi?

  • Do those girls have hairy armpits or are those shadows?

  • Hairy shadows, I think.

  • Hairy pits. I remember those very clearly from back in the day.

  • Man. The Coconuts never really got their props for being great dancers and singers; they are really awesome.

  • They really didn't. Adriana is my favorite babe. She did get some props though when she finally left Creole stupid ass and made her own girl group. Good for her.

  • Yeah, Kid did mess up with Adriana.

  • I remember watching this video on HBO Jukebox back in the early 80's. Great post.

  • an amazing song.

  • check out the pit hair lol

  • Sharp pair of eyes dude

  • Pit hair or no, you gotta admit the choreography and showmanship are fantastic. Five Stars!

  • Unless you're outside the U.S. :-(

  • So creative and original, Music needs this so badly today!!

  • I love it. It's classical one, but chorus ladies should shave her armpits hair before get dancing.

  • i really surprise..My Male Curiousity landed a distant 84th compared to the singles and albums of the band...definitely for me its the best they have done so far,,,song and lyric wise...choreagraphy..i couldnt ask for more.

  • there's nothing like a band with a breakdancing tempani player...

  • Kid Creole was a head before his time.I love this song but the girls need to shave there armpits.

  • better yet, just use pliers to rip them out.

  • unshaved armpits is annoying alright but certainly adds to their animalistic appeals..grr.i like to get my hands on them..ateast for the moment they got Male Curiousity..byronebenguche....until that time ..,you can have them....

  • Hairy pits were hot back in the 80's?

  • Nah, More of a 90's thing. "Grunge" and all!

  • Love the song and the video in general, but someone really needs to lend those girls a razor for their armpits.....NASTY!

  • o.k. those girls had like THE best dance moves! And so did he..I wonder if he could still go to the floor like that! I am a dancer and I was 21 when this video came out! I still dance like crazy and can still go to the floor and up ..BUT I pay for it a few days!!! this was music at its most creative! Again the girls were the best!

  • choreography was superb..members of the playing band wouldnt even be put down...i wondered who composed this song....so doown to earth...hmm ..

  • Check out the overdrive section of mtv online. They have the full version higher quality posted.

  • the whole mtv was fanstastic!

  • From the soundtrack of Against All Odds...the only good thing about that movie

  • you shouldn't judge the 80's with 2000 eyes......

  • korek!!!

  • I remember seeing this on TV as a 15 yr. old and being transfixed by those armpits. So cosmopolitan, so Continental! And then it disappeared, seemingly, forever. I knew it had something to do with Against All Odds, but Jesus, is anyone realistically going to rent that movie just to see two minutes of footage? Thanks to YouTube I don't have to answer that question.

    Thanks RetroVault2!

  • From the movie "Against All Odds", right?

  • Yes it was. The *only* decent moment in the movie.

  • Well, the Sunset car race was good too.

  • oh yeah, that too.

  • Big hair and armpits, ya gotta love the coconuts and the Kid is a Cab Calloway understudy and then came Prince
