  • If you are not yet pregnant, you should strongly consider charting your temperatures and cervical mucus so that you will know for sure when you conceived. Being able to date the pregnancy accurately can save a lot of problems during prenatal testing and around delivery time!

  • However, many labs refuse to take into account differing cycle lengths and will only go by the LMP, since many women are not sure exactly when they usually ovulate or when they conceived that cycle. This can cause problems in interpreting the results correctly. Be SURE your health provider is aware of this potential problem if your cycles run shorter or longer than 28 days or are irregular.

  • Dating the pregnancy accurately is also EXTREMELY important in eliminating false abnormal results. Most labs date via a woman's Last Menstrual Period (LMP). This assumes your cycle to be about 28 days long, and assumes you ovulated on about Day 14. If your cycle is significantly longer, you probably ovulate later than Day 14, and your baby may be younger than the LMP figures would indicate. This can skew results significantly---even a few days can make a difference.

  • if I knew what kind of this test is (triple screen tests) I wouldnt have gone for it.

Based on the story you told me that when you were 18 years of age and the results were ridiculous. One thing which I dont understand is if the tests doesnt indicate the exact situation then why these kinds of tests are prescribed.

Will write you later... by the way your two sons are just adorable.

  • The doc said you can leave if you want, we will scan the reports through mail. And within 2 days of me coming back to Moscow, I got the reports saying you have an increased risk of trisomy 18 (ratio 1:95) but their cut off list was 1:100 (the one they considered safe).

For the last 2 days I have been howling, depressed and stressed out like crazy.

Now I am going back to India to get amnio done,(because i dont trust moscow docs

  • You are absolutely right here regarding triple screen test.

I am 29 years old. I am 17 weeks pregnant I was in India a week back they did the triple screen testing and then in a day I had to leave with my hubby to Moscow(where he works).

  • Haha I totally agree about the Epidural! I wanted to wait as long as I could but once I got to 6cm I was SOOOOO ready for it! And it was sooooo amazing lol! Ahhh and I would have punched that nurse! Geeeezzeee!

  • That Stupid nurse! Wow, I didn't know having your waters intact cushions the labor pains! That is awesome to know and makes so much sense! I was fine until they broke my water and then i was in terrible pain!

  • Yeah some people are just like that I guess.. It makes me think of the movie Juno.. have you seen it.. the ultrasound tech says some really stupid stuff to her. Its a good movie.

Yeah its crazy how much the water cushions the pains of labor.. but usually once they break your water it speeds things up... but the contractions just get crazy intense.

  • I don't think anyone can go through the whole pregnancy without SOMETHING! LOL

  • most people i know seem to have pretty uneventful pregnancies... mine just get to be extra "exciting".. lol

  • lol I still haven't vlogged about my interesting week.

I had a rough 15th week. I even blacked out in the doctors office ... but I wasn't IN the office yet. So no one knew who I was ... or that I was pregnant. The last thing I managed to say was, "David, speed dial 2" and BAM gone. Woke up in another room.

  • oh boy! That would be scary!

  • terrifying. When I woke up I couldn't talk, I could still barely breath, and I couldn't move my limbs. they still didn't know who I was. When David arrived he told them, they rushed to get my file. I remember hearing, "OHHH You're pregnant!" lol

  • aww do yo uhave any pictures from your first two pregnancies?

  • I don't really have any belly pictures from my 1st one. I do have a few with my second one though.

  • We also decided in our pregnancies that we weren't getting any of the optional testing because it wouldn't make a difference anyway, and there is no reason to be scared the whole time! I know what you mean about the epidural, i DON'T like needles either, but i DONT care, lol i will ALWAYS have an epidural in the past and every remaining pregnancy! LOL I can't believe your nurse was that crappy!

  • We had a scare in our 16 week ultrasound which the nurse said there was a cyst on my daughters brain. Then the Dr. freaked us out saying it might have trisomy 13, which is a disorder that would basically kill the baby before or after labor, but she freaked me out for nothing, because the next day i saw a specialist and he said it was normal, and everything looked beautiful! I know what you mean about being scared, i don't think i hardly slept at all that night!

  • My second son had the same cyst... so I know what you went through... my husband always jokes that we just can't have a pregnancy without atleast one complication.

  • same thing here i didnt want the epidural but the doctor convinced me to get it and it made the whole experience more enjoyable!!my daughter was also 7lbs 2 oz. and 21 inches long, they also let me rip but i only needed 3 stiches but all in all i would do it again!! i love my baby girl!
