Hi bighctid ,its a long time ago,we were all from the Guildford area.We used to travel up to see all the bands in pubs and clubs all over London,so i'm not really sure, but it was under a flyover, the westway possibly?I remember feeling dwarfed by huge West Indians in the bar(and i'm 6 Ft 2ins!)We kept ourselves to ourselves and only ever nodded to the boys in the band,we didnt do stardom, they knew us all by sight,we used to see Feargal and Andy Kershaw watching them too, cheers mate.
agree with you all! What a band! Such a f**king shame they didnt make it bigger. Right chemistry and songs wrong time: before "indie" (uuuuur!) broke thru. Hope Steve and the O'Neils and the rest of the lads are doing well
This is what Youtube is really for. Great stuff. Saw them at the Town & Country Club in '89, I think it was, and also a couple of times in Newcastle (Riverside and Uni), loved them
Great stuff Billnori - I saw the Petrols a few times in the late 80's. One stand out concert was at the Boardwalk in Manchester. They were excellent and the moshing was ferocious. Great live band.
I was at this concert, I loved them! Gosh I was so young!
