  • Burger King sold the master franchise for for its system in Australia to a guy named Jack in the 70s for peanuts. Jack used the system - BK allowed him to change the name - he named it after himself. When Burger King realised how much profit they were losing they tried to cancel the contract. It ended up in oourt where BK lost. BK then tried to go head to head in Australia. They lost again. Hungry Jacks still remains in Australia.

  • It is called Hungry Jacks as a small burger shop in Melbourne had the name registered and didn't want them to have the name unless they got millions of dollars.
