Yes, Boba was in a deleted scene in A New Hope. It had Han running into Jabba the Hutt (who was originally human in the scene) and Boba before he left Tatoonie. This scene was put back into the special edition re-release and the human Jabba was replaced with alien Jabba we see in ROTJ & TPM.

Carrie Fisher was supposedly on drugs at the time of this, as she barely remembers anything about it. I like Luke's line at the beginning: "If I know Chewie, he wouldn't miss Life Day". That's non-sense, as this came out the Christmas the year, or after A New Hope. In SW continuity, it follows a similar half-a year since the Battle of Yavin, so Luke really hasn't know Chewie, or Han that long.
