Not a fan of this sound, I gotta be honest. Something sounds off. I had Flowmaster on my 3.8 and it sounded much better- almost sounded like a V8 at about 2500rpms. This sounds raspy, like rice... @RNelson11687 Had 80 series Flowmaster axle-back on my 3.8, I liked the sound thru about 2500rpms. Then it started to get a bit raspy. Cat-back with X-pipe def improves the sound alot. The only way you'll ever get a V8 type of sound from a sixer is with a BIG cam and some fat lifters....

get a rear end from a posi camaro in a junkyard. either from a Y87 or an SS and itll bolt right in. Just find one with the gearing you want and itll cost under $200 from most junk yards. Make sure that its not worn out and test it before you buy it or make sure you can return it. if you don't like used parts you can always opt for a moser 12 bolt rear and the install kit from SLP, but few people are willing to buy a $2000 rear for a v6.

lift the rear tires off the ground and spin one to make sure that the rear is actually posi and not worn out before you buy it. I'm not sure, but i believe the posi rears are actually heavier duty than the stock rear. Its worth the extra cost to get the entire axle (and its not that much extra) because it will take a fairly long time to get the diff out compared to taking the entire rear end and its also extremely easy to put on your car then. and if you keep same gears you don't need a tune.

@inuchan187 The differentials are the same V6 and V8. On slight acceleration a V8 that has posi traction does not have both wheels spin. The posi only locks in when you get on it a little. These differentials are the 10-bolt and use a 7.5"-7.625" ring diameter.

@sctflasher379 Yeah there are websites that you can buy a posi lock for your car for $450. It would be a much better route to go b/c the differential off of a V8 uses 4-wheel dics brakes. So you would buy different e-brake cables.

@sctflasher379 You need exactly nothing lol. I have the same car. Yes we have 3:23 just like some V8s. Some have 3:42s. All you need to know is how to swap it out properly. Our driveshaft should work just fine and line up rite. The only problem with oour driveshaft is. It is the 2 peice instead of the one peice like the V8s. So it with break under a load from a dig.

I didn't actually try it. I was going to try it in a 4th generation, but the engine bay really isn't long enough. I could fit it, but I'd have to move the firewall back almost a foot, and I didn't have the time or the patience OR the money to go ahead.

I think it might fit in a 3rd generation, though. The engine bays look long enough to fit it.

1982 to 1992 is the 3rd gen, they all had recessed headlights. 1993 to 2002 is the 4th gen, but the 1993 to 1997 Camaro had recessed headlights also.
