  • EXCEL-lent ! Your content and vocal delivery. You imbue understanding and confidence.

  • @JudgeJulieLit

WOW! THank you for the great comments!

I work hard to make my lessons as simple as possible - thank you for noticing,

In an earlier career, I was a professional musician - conducting major productions of Broadway Musicals in NYC and on tour in my early twenties. I learned valuable lessons in self-confidence. But, first I had to have complete mastery of the "score." I learned that mastery of the "score" was not sufficient unless I also had attained mastery of "myself."

  • Uhhhhhh Danny!! I am totally lost my brother. I am a very fast typer, I understand Microsoft Word like the back of my hand, although Excel is like rocket science!! I have a interview tommorow at 11 am and they told me over the phone their going to test my abilities of word and excel!! I am scared...:'(

P.S: I told them I am the master in Excel over the phone! I am screwed!

    R.I.P= ME :'(

  • @BorinquenZ28

My best advice in this situation - "you are what you think you are." Meaning that if you think that you will blow the interview because your Excel Skills are not up to par, guess what? That is what will happen.

So, change your thinking to a positive outcome - find one, two or three areas of Excel that you are good at - or can quickly become good at and work on mastering those elements.

Since you are a fast typist, use keyboard shortcuts -

    Good Luck to you tomorrow!

  • currently i am using excel for data entry. when i type IE10 in a cell i get some formula like I.00+E. i dont know how to remove this. pls help.

  • @umeshh21

Excel - by default - recognized the 1E10 entry as a number (Scientific calculation) What you want to do is FORMAT the cell or cells that will contain 1E10 as TEXT. For a single entry, you can use the ' (apostrophe) as the 1st character ('1E10) However, I prefer that you select the range of cells and then go to the FORMAT CELLS Command (Use Ctrl + 1 as a shortcut) and on the Number tab, select TEXT.

Let me know if this helps you.

  • @vmagarin04

Thank you for writing, I am pleased that you like that way that I explain the concept.

Re: Excel 2010 - I currently use Excel 2007. In fact, I am the author of a best selling DVD on this "The 50 Best Tips for Excel 2007."

I am currently filming another DVD and I am not planning to even look at Excel 2010 until early in 2011.

Some good news - I am planning to post an updated version of this particular Excel Lesson in Excel 2007 in a few days.

  • @badboy4life5626

Thank you for writing. Yes, I agree with your comment about the mouse clicks.

I created this video a few years ago, I have since disabled the "clicking" sound.
