In Wic you never really have time to enjoy the game..

In multuplayer matches rarely go over 10 minutes, and u die as fast u dont pay 100% attention or get kicked (im not a noob tho). In singleplayer you wither are time limited, or you have your hands full preventing the enemy from rushing.. or in worst case both at the same time.. You cant play the game and enjoy the beauty like in GC series. The characters voices arent realistic with passion... This is a big problem nowdays.

Sadly though Massive no longer owns the Gc saga, Nor are they a independent Swedish company.. that sux!

World in conflict had not even close the same feeling as Gc1..

It had great graphics, but dull gameplay..

U have no time to play around.. wich is herrecy to the game!

Either you have a timelimit wich not even the cheat trainers can stop..

Or the enemies just spamm you so u dont have time to just play.

Worst case is both... Singleplayer isnt like GC

Too bad tho you totally spoil the game in this video...

Ur game experience isnt good, you havnt disabled the squadmarkings

or waypoints so ugly green lines are across the screen.

Nor you zoom in and use FRAPS as the movie tool it is.

U rather focus on how TRYING to play rather than show how exraordinary

the game deph feeling and camera is, to have it more likea movie when playing.

No closeups from both sides when in combat, no follow vehicle mode..

Nothing... U degrade the game with this!

Man i love this game!

No other RTS have ever come close to this game..

You had plenty of time dealing with enemies, sneaking etc.

Even in a heavy firefight u had time to look around as the

fire wasnt as accurate wich gave a feeling of hot intense warefare

with bullets flying around everywhere.. balance was great and the feel

of the deph and camera movement extraordinary!!!

Music was heavenly accurate to the worlds enviroment and the story well written,

the voices realistic and full of passion.

@johnstar145 it is indeed,,,but it can be a bit dodgy to run on windows 64bit systems ive noticed plus the expansion doesnt come with it (you have to buy off gog to get prper compatability and the expansion)

haha holy shit i remember playing this 6-7 years ago at like 2004 or so - was admired by the grapichs back then sometimes id dint play the game i just let it role and had the camera close to the battlefiled for the view lol

You are not a very good player- No offence. Though I can tell you that the magic in this game is to keep moving the units in different formations in order to get better fire angles. If you use the formations feature correctly you can score very well. I rarely even use any spacial weapons and equipment thanks to mastering the strategy and formation in this game.

It's a shame. Nowadays, games like this have no space because all people want is fast action. Man, the huge terrains of GC always gave me so much time to philosophy about just everything! Aliens, the future,peace.

freaking loved this game.. its a squad-based rts classic. Only drawback is the inability to build bases/buildings. THAT would've made it perfect

It SHOULDN'T be stretched. That distorts the picture.

It's not worth distorting the picture just to make it widescreen. Distorted video is a problem known as Aspect Ratio Fail, and many, many videos on the Internet have it. By stretching the picture, you are deliberately distorting the contents of the video and making it mathematically invalid.

@FirsToStrike Yah dude, whats amazing is that at one point in the campaign you have to destroy a "corporate tower" (just a small spoiler which isn't much of a spoiler) and when you destroy it its destruction animation is weirdly enough the same way 9/11 happened, it collapses in on itself! I loved ANNIE-1. Though, now that I'm playing GC again after having played Portal, I wish ANNIE-1 was more like GlaDOS (dark humour and whatnot).

She does sort of remind me of her, though, with her casual way of relating information to you (not "there's a shitload of enemies coming at you, get outta there now!", but "89% chance of unit destruction if current position maintained. Recommendation: retreat immediately to the pickup zone.").

Well, the command APC is not supposed to be fighting anyway (the player tries to, but as you can see even the infantry is way stronger) and don't tell me that the infantry takes "for friggin ever" to move - that's a silly overstatement. Yes, it may take a second, but as you said, this is a strategy game, where the major point is how you do something, not how fast.

Adding to the challenge of a game is a different thing than "detracting from its fun".

Since you brought up realism - in real life units DO behave like this - you give the order, they respond, then they start to carry it out. If you've ever driven a vehicle, you'll know that.

that's because ai movement was put into the newer games. instead of going straight and possibly getting stuck, the computer plots the most convenient (or so it thinks) course to get to the objective you told it to. in many ways this is better because like i said, they wont get stuck, and also you can tell units to go somewhere without having to worry about them getting stuck, leaving u able to tell more units to go someplace else, which makes multitasking the routes of units much easier =)

Not really a famous game tbh... but it was great back in the days... take into account this was released only 2 years after age of empires 2!!!

It also had a great story... and no mention the guys who made this are the developers of the best rts game of last year, World in Conflict (Massive Entertainment)
