  • Thank you for this idea. You have some good ideas. Very nice of you to share this for all of our health.

  • @jjdogjethro22 Thanks, the range of diseases mosquitos transmit is not small, I think thess traps are one of the most important items a family can have if theyb live in an area with a lot of mosquitoes.

they work great, are cheap to make, cost very little to operate and the mosquitoes habe no way to adopt and resist through thier immune sytem as they do with chemicals which harm the environment.

  • Test your trap to see if mosquitoes goes in

  • "A mosquito bag fan trap, heh"

    Absolutely Hilarious

  • My daughter almost died from West Nile that turned into Meningitis that has caused Nerve Damage in her hands and feet... Thanks for this wonderful Idea!

  • @phoenixjodirae so sorry to hear about your daughter, hope she gets well soon. A few fan traps placed outside will do a lot to reduce the threat of mosqiuto born illness in your neighborhood. You will enjoy killing all those little devils.

  • yeah, but does it actually catch mosqutoes? Post some pics of 1 nights catch for evidence please.

  • @jeta45 Sure, go to the link of my ebay store in the information below the video and look for the mosquito bag trap i sell there with plenty of photos.

  • mosquitoes can cause serious health problems for dogs so this wil help them if they are kept outside a lot.

  • thx - good idea - i already run a fun on the floor for the puppy dogs, so this will be a great addition :-)

  • I thought about that, I read the mosquito bed nets were becoming less effective. Mosquitos will find it hard to adapt to the fan, also, those customers of the commercial unit I sell that use the fan in swampy areas report seasonal reductions in mosquitos every year they have used the fan trap.

  • This could be a third world life saver. Combine with solar cells and ....

  • i eat marmite and garlic and they keep away : >

  • so what happens when you turn the fan off do they all say ..thank u for keeping me cool.......and fly out buzzzz

  • @hughezee good question, go to my ebay store listed in the info section and see the photos of the fantrap I see in action and the dead mosquitoes. I leave the fan on until I get a bunch of dead ones . if i turn the fan off I never see many flying away. The cosnatnt wind droes them out pretty quick. You can run the fan day and night for a month and use less than 2 dollars worth of electricity.

  • @hewwel1970 You are not a mosquito, as how could you use the keyboard Meester MOEsquitoe!!

, plus the voice i was using was my special voice mosquitoes can not hear, it can only be heard by bored semi troll youtubers. Also, I am not an expert, but I think to be correct you should have typed " I am an idiot, not I am a idiot. And my voice is the least irritating of my atributes so count your blessings as I kept my ugly mug out of the video and you only had to put up with my voice.

    Fly safe.

  • thanks for sharing :)

  • Just smoke weed my friend

  • that cardboard looks pretty fancy, u sure about the dollar

  • @WAXTHEFUR yep! and the cloth was on sale as it had a bunch of tiny holes in it.

  • I sell a commercial made fan trap in my ebay store where you can see photos of the effectiveness. trust me - it works great! my ebay ID is mrhulot

you can also go to my ebay store via the link in this youtube video information section below the video

  • how do you know the mosquitos will be attracted to the fan? I observed that mosquitos tend to avoid moving air.

  • How did you get $1? The fan costs about $30 plus the electric.

  • @Critique808 He's just referring to the homemade trap part. Box fans like the one he's showing can be found in my area for under ten bucks at retail stores, and priced as low as one or two bucks at yard sales. However, even if it did cost $30, it would easily be worth more than that if it gets rid of mosquitoes, IMO!

  • @Critique808 title is How to make a $1 Mosquito Bag Fan Trap kills bugs dead , not how to make a fan. fan trap costs about $1 in materials

if you do not have a $12 box fan from walmart you will not need a fan trap

  • Even more simple. Stretch a flat panel of screen across the back of the fan. The suction holds it (and the bugs) in place, or if you want it more secure, grab a few super-magnets, like at Ace Hardware, and just use them to secure the edges of the screen to the fan frame. And the fan stays cleaner without bugs being smushed on the blades.

  • just curious....wouldn't it be a lot easier and just as effective to tape the cloth onto the fan directly, with out the cardboard contraption?

  • That's a boffo idea, Robb, kudos... I was hoping to see the netting when it's ready to be cleaned off, that woulda been a good catch. Woulda been like watching one of those arctic crab fishing shows on the discovery channel on teevee

  • AWESOME! I have been working on making an LED mosquito trap, and this is exactly what I need to finish it, I was working on a zapper but this is so much better as I wish to feed the fish with this. Add a black light LED with this and you will have a killing machine! I also am going to add moth pheromone attractant to my version.

  • If it's the first one you made,

how do you know it works so well?

I mean the net looks completely void of skeeters.

  • @PhuqueU fair question. if you go to my ebay store I sell a commercial made version and you can see the photos of the bag being used with THOUSANDS of mosquitos killed in it.

  • @mrhulot101

Wow you have some interesting books for sale too. Maybe after Christmas, I'm tapped right now, but hey, I think you should make these with a small LED light affixed to the suck trap as a lure. The bugs are attracted to light, and this will ensure you get many of them on those summer nights when you spend time outdoors, and a LED light cost near nothing to run, 12 cents a month? If that!

  • @mrhulot101 haha. a bag with THOUSANDS of killt skeeters. Whatchu DO with that bag of THOUSANDS of killt skeeters?

    haha

  • Great idea this can feed your fish in your aquaponic garden. I have an old tent in the yard that has netting all over it I will use it to build many traps to give to family to place in their yard. Another way you can build this is use a strip of molding and a hot glue gun. I have a fan that runs off of battery I will convert it and I will have a solar mosquito killer.Mosquitos are attracted to co2 and heat the fan will make heat might be why the skeeters go to the fan. Great IDEA

  • I want to definately try this, although I'm really bad with tools

  • @bbbbbb222222 don't worry, you just need scissors and glue.

  • This is a great idea. Luckily the geology department released mosquito larva eating fish into the waters around here. I haven't seen them much since then.

  • sorry I don't get the idea. The fan blows the air out, so how come the mosquitos inside?

  • @TheSunmanho LOL, really?

  • @6Nicad6emus6

please don't make fun of me, I beg for an honest answer

  • @TheSunmanho

    hello, Thanks for writing.

the net keeps the bugs from being blown out and the air from the fan dries them out, go to my ebay store and you can see photos of one i sell being used with tons of mosquitoes inside.

    my ebay ID is mrhulot

I have the link in my info at the top

  • @mrhulot101

I just visited your ebay store. So the bugs find their grave in your bag but then what? I assume I will throw the bag full of bugs into the trash can and buy another one. Or do you clean it in the laundry?

  • @TheSunmanho you can remove the bag easily and shake the bugs out . the bag will last a long time, no need to put in laundry

  • @mrhulot101

    okay

  • @TheSunmanho I believe they are attracted to the heat, they see, from the fan motor but they will get pulled in if any mosquitoes get near it. They are not strong flyers and air currents push or pull them around.

  • yer welcome.

  • Thanks.
