In my opinion, it's smart for Atlus to release this for the PSP instead of the Vita. With the Vita, it'll be relatively new and have less owners than the PSP has, thus making it more available to fans of the series, as well as reduced production costs. Although this would be a bad idea if many companies did this, it's a good marketing strategy when few companies are doing such a thing.

@darkknightofska That's one of the things I like about this series is how underneath the cute exterior is some unsettling material. For instance look up Yggdra Union which has pretty much the same art style. While that game is pretty standard in the early portions it gets pretty dark in the later chapters.

Yes not everyone wants a PSV but the PSP is long but dead now (this is coming from someone with over 100 games in my PSP library) so any game released on it now won't have much sales. Especially when the PSV will be out and most people will have upgraded to it.

Especially when the PSP already has a TON of quality games and the Vita almost has none. Plus the PSP is not dead.  There are still quality games being made for it. And even if someone does buy a Vita they can still play PSP games on it.

But I'm intrigued, what games are still coming to the PSP in the USA anyways? The PSV has a bunch of games coming out for it plus every PSP game on the PSN Store. PSP might still be good for some people but majority of PSP owners have long been ready to move on to the PSV.

@ThisIsDjYigytugd This, Grand Knights History, Black Rock Shooter, and Hakuoki Are comming out soon for the PSP. Also, Corpse Party, Persona 2, and Fate/Extra just barely were released this fall. So yeah, PSP may be on it's last leg. But it's not "dead" like alot of people would lead you to believe.

@Kingofprinces85 I believe it cause its true. I have 100's of PSP games and even brought some this year. Still the PSP is all but done. A few more games may be coming out for it here and there (just like the PS2 still had games coming out for it years after the PS3 came out) but that doesn't mean much. Happy to see some games are still coming out for it but doubt its anything to make people think that the PSP still has some life left in it.

Doesn't need so much brain to understand this. Also FF type-0 comes out on PSP too. It does have games to get excited about even now.

@paterah So this game out of all the other games that came out in the last year is going to make people buy a PSP so late in the game. I'm sure piracy will get to this game and FF Type-0 (which has been pirated for the Japanese version and will for the English release). But who knows, this game out of all the rest might make people stop pirating games on the PSP.

I'll just wait on this to see if the vita gets itself together, I want VITA vs 3DS to be a very hard race close, with lots of great games on both sides

If I do pick up a vita, I'll get this (New If I can at that point, got ot give Atlus my money!)

@Itachi17509 Both actually. The Atlus in Japan makes video games(most notably the SMT,Trauma Team, and Etrian Odyssey series). While Atlus USA doesn't make games they only translate and publish games. Including games from ATLUS Japan as well as other companies.

Atlus is a Japanese company that makes video games. AtlusUSA is a department that only translated their games or some other Japanese ones. So in short, they Xseed, NIS America and Aksys are current top localizers ;)
