  • this guy reminds me of sam from wkuk

  • it dissembles just like an M16/M4, it has an upper and lower receiver :D

  • A AMERICAN wearing A GERMAN SUITE !! :D

  • reminds me of an HK rifle

  • @cyberxtm

The outside appearance of the sturmgewehr certainly makes you think that the AK is a simple copy, but the inside of the Stg and AK are certainly different. Make sure to check out a weapon inside and out to differentiate them :)

  • @ultrasupertrunk90

I'm not sure if Mikhail Kalashnikov denied whether or not he was inspired by the sturmgewehr, but he did work (not long) with the designer of the sturmgewehr (cant remember his name now) to help him with some of the design after the war. I've also heard that Kalashnikov was a fan of John Garand and designed the charging handle in a similar fashion to Garands works. although the outside influences in the rifle, the AK is, was and always will be Mikhail Kalashnikovs work of art.

  • its funny everyone thinks the ak47 was inspired by the stg44 but the maker of the ak47 totally denies that he he used the stg44 for his insperation to make the ak47

  • Oh damn!

It looks more bad-ass-kicking-like, than the most of modern firearms.

What a joke - I am german and in my occupied country it is difficult to get some.

I only had shoot outs with G36 and G3, MG3 and G22, GraMaWa and PzFst, P1 and P8...still cant get enough...

...I would be happy to shot with the weapons which also my ancestors were shooting - K98, StGw 44er and so on....

    Greetings from Germany

  • Love the Strumgewehr 44. Even as old as it is. If was remanufactured it would be a hot sale. And probably the best.

  • apparently the Fedorov Avtomat Rifle came before this, but is not as well known

  • It's nice to see that some american know so much about german quality. :) ...and not much americans know that the ideas for M1a1 Abrams and Bradley came from the german Leopard and Marder. :)

  • @Bjoern211 Not true, the Leopard tank and the Abrams were sister tanks more or less developed together during the cold war.

  • Very informative and instructive. Would Kalishnakov have seen an mp 44 in 1944 ? Im assuming he stole th design.

  • the only thing that te ak47 got from this is the intermediate round concept

  • AK47 is a rotating bolt like M1 garand...

This is a tilting bolt like the FN FAL.

  • German engineering when as best,

    Deutsche Maschinenbau als besten

  • These are still used in Syria and other areas in the 40s, 50s, 60s, and I know a guy who grabbed one in Mog in 93.

  • @redreaper2020 lucky LUCKY bastard that guy is..........

  • Nice, see lots of things that later rifles have used! Just about any rifle, like the M16, AK47, HK G3, and even the FN SCAR have some similarities.

  • a cetme is a copy of the mp44. the ak function is more related to m1 garand than mp44.

  • wow this was to complicated for Russians how have they even survived as a people lmao.

  • @ak907jk complicated?people rip off each others ideas all the time so of course the russians didnt think of it first.

  • il est clair que les russes se sont inspirés du stg mod44 pour faire le ak47

  • i learned alot from this guy on this gun and i thought i knew a good amount on this gun cause my friend use talk all day about it.

  • Ambient gun shots + wind = I can't hear very well.

  • i like how the information says, "chris drones on about his mp44" that dudes just jealous

  • heckler G3 made after that

  • The G3 was a clone of the Spanish CETME which in turn was based upon the Mauser StG.45, a different design to Haenel's StG.44. The StG.45 uses roller-delayed blowback, as does the CETME and the entire family of HK weapons based upon the CETME design.

  • US also developed an intermediate cartridge, the M1 Carbine. same cartridge length as the 7.92 Short. but ,30 caliber and used in the M1 carbine, some of which were captured in 1942. That is also still in production, and issued in Israel.

  • It's stole from russian Kalasnikov's AK 47.

  • @paiusan2000 It's the opposite, Ak-47 has almost the same design as the Sturmgewehr 44.

  • Actually, the internals are entirely different. The only real resemblance is external.

Both are uniquely innovative weapons in their own right and to try and say one is a copy of the other is foolish.

  • @rossmum The design dude.. the magazine.. Nazigermany created the first assault rifle. They are both simple buildt,, if you compare to a colt m4a1 ect. ginjaninja1988 has right.

  • No, he isn't right. Regardless of whether Kalashnikov was inspired by the StG or not, the StG uses a tilting bolt while the AK uses a rotating bolt. The control layouts are different. The only similarities aside from visual ones are the design of the gas piston (which was already common), the curved stamped for of the magazines, and the general layout of the fire control pack. The actual action is not even similar.

You may as well say the FAL copied since it uses a tilting bolt as well, right?

  • @rossmum The sturmgewehr was designed about 1943, with smaller bullets then a rifle but bigger then a pistol/machinepistol. That was the first Assault rifle, then, the kalasknikov came. Simple builded as the sturmgewehr. Both are automatic with can carry 30/35 rounds. You know what im saying? It is to compare 2 rifles what they were build for! Not what cind of titing bolt and all other rifle parts.

  • So you're saying they're both designed for the same purpose? Yes, everyone knows that. The fact remains that the Kalashnikov rifle is not a copy of, or even similar to, the StG. They share the same purpose and some similar design ideas but they both achieve their task in entirely different ways.

  • @rossmum So what was the task for the sturmgewehr and Kalasknikov rifles?

  • To take over the roles of both the standard infantry rifle and submachine gun, essentially streamlining the equipment used by infantry and improving effectiveness by trading off the less desireable aspects of each.

  • @rossmum The ak 47 was inspired by the Sturmgewehr.

  • But it is not mechanically similar to it in any way. It was inspired by the StG the same way the M16 was inspired by the AK.

  • @rossmum that is the main question :P that the kalasknikov was insipred of the sturmgewehr. I do not like wikipedia but i copied this sentence: The original AK-47 was one of the first true "assault rifles" to be manufactured, after the original Sturmgewehr 44.

  • Awesome 5*****

  • Wow, the more i see this rifle, the more M16 i feels :D

  • Do u need to be in a battle right now?

  • JEEEEEEEEEEEESUS ....I WANT THAT GUN ....65 YEARS AND STILL FUNCTIONING

  • VERY..informative...thank you : )

  • interesting

  • A absolute work of art!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The trigger mech looks like an AK system.

  • @ammosmith The AK 47 was inspired by this rifle

  • @ginjaninja1988 true fact

  • @ginjaninja1988 Yes indeed but the MP44 is beautifuler!

  • Correction if you open you'r eyes you'll see that the ak is almost a exact copy. even the sight is the same.

  • @ammosmith Well actually the Trigger mechanism is the same as the M1 Garand's.
