WAR could NOT deliver. At least in wow with the endless raiding you had a chance to better your character. In WAR, it's more like...who can dedicated 6 hours just to cap a zone(which is MAJORLY bugged)
Is it possible to "forget" learned abilitys and regain the points so you can change your abilitys ?
Like in DAoC it was possible with a special item to reset all trained abilitys and so you could try out several fighting styls or change beeing more powerfull in pve or pvp situations ( as long as you had enough respec stones of course )?

Not entirely true... private servers are known to have quite a bit of player base. theres a fue wow based private servers that have well over 2000+ players on at any given time. And honestly wouldnt be surpised if a private server managed to out preform mythic on fixs/balance/and maintance.
to green. first off id like to say i have a 5 yr old comp that with a decend video card and 2 gigs of ram.. my comp is shit probably is worth 200 bucks now.... anyways i never crash if you crash with a $3000 comp something is wrong.. and although i can only play WAR on fastest framerate it is still far better than wow is and will ever be.. gl with boring old stupid world of warcraft

Yeah. Warhammer looks more intresting than WoW. End of WoW started when TBC came out. It really crushed the game. WoW is too easy and there isn't really nothing much to do any more. WotLK..well...death knight can be fun, but what then...it is still same boring stuff.

I havent played WoW since sunwell came out (boring), and WOTLK looks to say the most, disappointing. They're just piling crap ontop of crap now, why raid when you can do heroics for similar gear. Blizzard wrecked WoW, i plan to stay with WAR like my ENTIRE guild, who have moved to war (its excellant btw) till D3 comes out, that is blizzards big thing (as somone said). WAR gives so much more than What will even after the expansion, WoW is good, but its old and time for somethign new (D3).
I just bought this game and as I started playing, I noticed that (even with high frames, nvidia 8500gt, latest drivers) player and monster animation was extremely sketchy and messed up when they were far away from me..but as I get closer things smooth out. So everything in the distance is like playing at 3 fps when everything up close is playing at 70. That makes no sense..someone said something about video calibration is messed up but I can't find anything on that. Any ideas?
You're an ass then. This system is extremely clever, and a refined way to customize your characters abilities as he interacts with the world. Clearly you're not any sort of RPG player, or you would understand this.
No, the higher you get in WAR, the harder the RvR gets, meaning that you have to start taking the keeps and fighting constantly for control of the realm until your(or their) capital city is taken, then it resets and the war starts again.
when the thing resets do you have to lvl up all over again or do you keep growin stronger what it all the hi lvl leave your realm and your stuck with lvl 1 noobs and your shit keeps gettin beat is the RvR like WoW BGs ?
Sorry to correct you snipeere, WoW is PvE based, AoC was premature release and they 'crashed and burn', and Warhammer is PvP based, even if they do offer PvE abilities, the game is mostly PvP. Like WoW is mostly PvE. The PvP system of WoW truly suck bad. And you only realize that when you play WAR. Or you can stay in your own little dream world and think WoW has the best PvP system of all the games.

Having played the beta it's a lot like a rouges (in terms of energy not combo points), and every class uses it (making it a bit easier to balance classes when they all follow the same formula for calculating ability usage). I'm not sure if any specific things increase your agility, but instead each class seems to gain more as they level as their abilities get more and more costly at higher leveled versions.
10X better?? did you just pull that figure out the air? you know 72% of people think WOW is at least 4X better with 9X better graphics. While 3% said WAR was 6X more likely to bore them and 11X more likely to fail within it first year. I am so 10X 100% right.

WoW's outdoor PvP is completely garbage, you gain almost absolutely nothing from doing it.
WoW's "end-game" contents are for serious, hardcore player, and the worst part is that the end-game content is almost all you can do when you're at max level. And it requires 24 other players to do it at the same time.
WoW's lead designer is a big fan of raiding, thus why WoW turn into WoRaidcraft, and that sucked big time for me because I can't/don't want to waste 4+ hrs everyday on raiding.

true, I play rogue in WoW lol, but i like having ALL of my skills to use so i'm ready for any situation. Seems in warhammer I might have picked the PERFECT skills for a couple of encounters but then completely horrible ones for other encounters, I like being able to change my strategy on the fly but we'll see how it goes. I'm sure they've thought about it all and its gonna be awesome.

Yes, your comment mentioned that it sucked that you had to pick. It's basically got the same feature as wow plus more, so whats to complain about? You have ACCESS to all your basic skills, these are NOT skills your picking (beta tester here, waiting for the 7th for open to come up since closed just ended) your picking BUFFS. Much like you'd pick certain buffs that don't stack from potions in another mmo, etc. You still have 100% access to all your skills.

The tactics are, the only ones that are more like abilities are your morale, and those you only get a small few of anyways. Those are like "the longer you fight the more morale you build and then you can trigger one" sort of deal so yes you "techincally" limit yourself with those, but otherwise all abilities are more like "trained" and always useable. Tactics are like "+5% damage to dwarves" or "+10% rep from public quests" sort of deals.
you can download the open beta on the 18th but the open beta actualy starts on sept. 7th and no this is a MMORPG just like WoW, everquest so on so it has monthly fee's and is only online no offline play.

The classes they have removed were unpolished, underpowered, and therefore, too much of a problem. They decided to remove the 4 because theyd rather focus on the 20 classes than waste time trying to mess with the 4 crap classes.
The 4 cities they removed were also not ready. Id rather have only 2 capitals anyways, it means your side (order or destruction) only has to focus on raiding 1 big city.
I think its fine that they removed some. This will give them a ton of room for expansions. Take WoW for example. They shoved a ton of stuff into the first game and don't have much room to advance in. Starting low will keep the room for improvement there.

Mythic is taking everything WoW has done in consideration while creating this game. In all their games already there was always great balance. In DAoC every class had its advantages and disadvantages. They wont start making mistakes now, on a game that is so highly anticipated. Plus they can see what went wrong with every online game and find away to improve upon it. An example? Crafting. I have never played a game where crafting was fun (maybe SWG, but not really). Now it will be. Cant wait.

i played WoW for 4 years and then recently switched to WAR. WAR has much leveling mechanics and has better art direction overall.
Its mostly pvp/rvr so if your into that type of game (think old school tarren mill/southshore style) your bound to like it.

Yeah. Warhammer looks more intresting than WoW. End of WoW started when TBC came out. It really crushed the game. WoW is too easy and there isn't really nothing much to do any more. WotLK..well...death knight can be fun, but what then...it is still same boring stuff.

Wow's average player age used to be like 20-25 and now its 13-14 which means children who only want free epics in order to be interested in the game. Well lets see... Conan wasn't expected to bring WoW to its knees and WAR is expected to at least make it flinch. Blizzard's "monster" isn't the new expansion you moron. Blizzard's monsters are Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2. Both games still have a higher sell rate than WoW does and the games are both far older than WoW. What exactly does that tell you about them? WAR may not break WoW, but it will give it a run for its money and probably will tie it for popularity. Warhammer fan base > WoW fan base.

I havent played WoW since sunwell came out (boring), and WOTLK looks to say the most, disappointing. They're just piling crap ontop of crap now, why raid when you can do heroics for similar gear. Blizzard wrecked WoW, i plan to stay with WAR like my ENTIRE guild, who have moved to war (its excellant btw) till D3 comes out, that is blizzards big thing (as somone said). WAR gives so much more than What will even after the expansion, WoW is good, but its old and time for somethign new (D3).

I just bought this game and as I started playing, I noticed that (even with high frames, nvidia 8500gt, latest drivers) player and monster animation was extremely sketchy and messed up when they were far away from me..but as I get closer things smooth out. So everything in the distance is like playing at 3 fps when everything up close is playing at 70. That makes no sense..someone said something about video calibration is messed up but I can't find anything on that. Any ideas?

not sure if this will be good. I cant see any real goals to meet with the leveling up, u get a char and fight, to lvl up...and fight higher lvls?
WoW has the bosses etc which u aim to down, and arena rankings to aim for.
Still im rly bored of WoW now, and wow PVP sucks balls so ill defo give WAR a try.

No, the higher you get in WAR, the harder the RvR gets, meaning that you have to start taking the keeps and fighting constantly for control of the realm until your(or their) capital city is taken, then it resets and the war starts again.

Umm, you're level doesn't reset at all, when your realm(or the enemy's) captures the main city, the war just restarts and you get to do it again.

Sorry to correct you snipeere, WoW is PvE based, AoC was premature release and they 'crashed and burn', and Warhammer is PvP based, even if they do offer PvE abilities, the game is mostly PvP. Like WoW is mostly PvE. The PvP system of WoW truly suck bad. And you only realize that when you play WAR. Or you can stay in your own little dream world and think WoW has the best PvP system of all the games.

how does the "energy" system works in WAR?. cause by the looks of it casters got some sorta of enegry they regain really fast. so i wonder, can u actually get stuff that enchane the quantity of your energy?. or is it kinda like the energy rogues got in WoW?. cause ive been checking out some stats u can get in WAR and i didnt find any stat that gives more energy. Having played the beta it's a lot like a rouges (in terms of energy not combo points), and every class uses it (making it a bit easier to balance classes when they all follow the same formula for calculating ability usage). I'm not sure if any specific things increase your agility, but instead each class seems to gain more as they level as their abilities get more and more costly at higher leveled versions.

WoW's outdoor PvP is completely garbage, you gain almost absolutely nothing from doing it.
WoW's "end-game" contents are for serious, hardcore player, and the worst part is that the end-game content is almost all you can do when you're at max level. And it requires 24 other players to do it at the same time.
WoW's lead designer is a big fan of raiding, thus why WoW turn into WoRaidcraft, and that sucked big time for me because I can't/don't want to waste 4+ hrs everyday on raiding.

true, I play rogue in WoW lol, but i like having ALL of my skills to use so i'm ready for any situation. Seems in warhammer I might have picked the PERFECT skills for a couple of encounters but then completely horrible ones for other encounters, I like being able to change my strategy on the fly but we'll see how it goes. I'm sure they've thought about it all and its gonna be awesome.

Yes, your comment mentioned that it sucked that you had to pick. It's basically got the same feature as wow plus more, so whats to complain about? You have ACCESS to all your basic skills, these are NOT skills your picking (beta tester here, waiting for the 7th for open to come up since closed just ended) your picking BUFFS. Much like you'd pick certain buffs that don't stack from potions in another mmo, etc. You still have 100% access to all your skills.

The tactics are, the only ones that are more like abilities are your morale, and those you only get a small few of anyways. Those are like "the longer you fight the more morale you build and then you can trigger one" sort of deal so yes you "techincally" limit yourself with those, but otherwise all abilities are more like "trained" and always useable. Tactics are like "+5% damage to dwarves" or "+10% rep from public quests" sort of deals.

you can download the open beta on the 18th but the open beta actualy starts on sept. 7th and no this is a MMORPG just like WoW, everquest so on so it has monthly fee's and is only online no offline play.

They deleted the 4 classes and cities.
The classes they have removed were unpolished, underpowered, and therefore, too much of a problem. They decided to remove the 4 because theyd rather focus on the 20 classes than waste time trying to mess with the 4 crap classes.
The 4 cities they removed were also not ready. Id rather have only 2 capitals anyways, it means your side (order or destruction) only has to focus on raiding 1 big city.

I think its fine that they removed some. This will give them a ton of room for expansions. Take WoW for example. They shoved a ton of stuff into the first game and don't have much room to advance in. Starting low will keep the room for improvement there.

Mythic is taking everything WoW has done in consideration while creating this game. In all their games already there was always great balance. In DAoC every class had its advantages and disadvantages. They wont start making mistakes now, on a game that is so highly anticipated. Plus they can see what went wrong with every online game and find away to improve upon it. An example? Crafting. I have never played a game where crafting was fun (maybe SWG, but not really). Now it will be. Cant wait.
