Pauliazz94 ... Clearly you know nothing.. That pair of sony's may have been state of the art in the 90's but compared to modern day technology it's close to the bottom of the list . I'm not a kid and I pay for my own things . I have the Klipsch s4i's and the solo beats by dre and have demo'd several other studio grade headphones / iem's so don't start chirping me until you know as much as I do about the quality of a real pair of headphones .

@richardtheriault For the love of jesus. Would people stop comparing these headphones to consumer type headphones. These a reference grade headphones. I own the sonys and a few pairs of Sennheiser reference grade headphones. The sonys are not on the same stage as the sennheisers but should not be compared to the likes of Dr dre (consumer grade headphones.) If you like sugar in your ears buy dr dre if you are a professional buy the sony. P.S stop talking shite.

Care to elaborate what constitutes "modern technology" on a pair of cans?

If a pair of cans are able to reproduce the audible range in a balanced manner with minimal power, then that's the whole point of quality headphones.

The MDR-7506 is still widely used in professional applications, especially on the field.

Beats are not professional headphones, period.

The Klipsch S4I are earbuds; professional cans are usually large and circumaural.

And even called it Japan's cult Headphones. So now im thinking comparing 7506 with MDR-CD900ST. Or should i get the MDR-V6 instead a bit lesser in price about 60-70 bucks maybe. But not sure on the difference between the 3 of them...

These headphones are the industry standard. Ever major studio and broadcast station as at least one pair of these. I have three. One at the station and two pair at home here in my studio.

Dumbest review I've ever seen. The bottom line is that people wanna know HOW DO THESE SOUND? And this guy, obviously NOT a audio engineer does NOT reviews the different audio aspects of these phones (definition, distortion threshold, whether the highs are silky or brash, etc.. etc..). This guy knows somethings about something but it's sure not headphones. Waste of time to watch this review.

are amazing..plus on amazon theyre $4 and i think $5 for shipping..

at walmart, they are $25....these r estimates..

All I wanted was to listen to my music but my $10-$30 earbuds kept breaking and sounding horrible. I asked a musician what earbuds he'd recommend. "GET THE MDR-750SIIIIIIIIX!!!". More than 2 years later they're still working great; best purchase I've ever made!

The only thing they're bad for is walking with an iPod because of the long cord. Still by carefully utilizing the included bag I've had many comfortable sessions with it and my laptop on the bus.

You want to see real headphones, check out my clips. These MDR-7506 are fine low cost headphones, they are on the harsh side but that is A ok as these are for monitoring.

@majsk84lif3 I am deciding between the same exact ones. What I've been hearing is that the V6's are more bassy and have good sound quality, but the 7506's are more accurate as far as overall sound. The V6's are more for DJing while these are for casual listening.

ok, ive had 3 pairs of these and they sound great and everything but the padding around the ears ALWAYS comes out and once they do they just keep coming out cause you have to kind of stretch them to get them back in and eventually they just get too loose to stay on.

Which headphones would you recommend between the MDR-7506 and MDR-V6? I listen to a wide range of music from classical to soft rock to rap. I want headphones with good bass but a well rounded sound. Which of the two would you recommend?

@chimy100 The MDR-V6's are more for bass because they are meant to be used by DJ's. They still sound good if you listen to rap and hip hop as a casual listener though. But if you listen to soft rock like you say the sound may not be as accurate as the MDR-7506's. However, I think if you mess with your equalizer for your device you should get the accurate sound with the MDR-V6's even when listening to soft rock.

Personally, the V6 will has a much better bass response than the 7506. However the treble is also a bit on the harsh side at times. The 7506 does bring it down a bit, but not by much. If you are using a flat EQ, you will notice the V6 gets a bit deeper on the bass.

heres the thing..sony makes one of the best headphones..bose makes one the most best surround sounds..sony doesnt really make such surround sounds and bose doesnt really make one of the best headphones.

I have this headphone and it is the best one i ver had. I used it a lot and they stil work perfect after 10 years! I purchased it in 2000 for about 150eur. 3 years ago i yust put on new earpads... It is really a great and professional product!

These headphones are no better than iPod headphones . Don't buy these . I got them off my dad and they are older pieces of junk. Lol at these headphones . They are comfortable though. Look into Senheiser, Grado, Shure, Monster, and Bosse if you want to enjoy your music

The pads are REALLY durable... Had one of the older models of these for 5 years, the sound was different than this verson, but its the same pads..

@PhuckHue2 Of course the 'bass sucks'. These are studio quality headphones and have a flat response, so it reproduces the bass as it really is, unlike 'bass enhanced' headphones, which are completely inacurate. Ear pads are replaceeable.

I like Sony MDR7509, because I really like the sound, really good tonal clarity and plenty of loudness and no distortion whats so ever. But I didn't buy them because they are " sony ", I bought them because I read the reviews on these headphones, and that people were satisfied.

You should buy whatever suites you. =)

@ykliu1995 I'm not saying you should stick to Sony because they are the best! No. There are many different brands, it just depends what you feel comfortable with. I believe that there is none " THE BEST HEADPHONE " they are always different in sound, and it's only you, who will be judge them for them, if you like them or not.

There is AKG, Sony, Senheisser, Pioneer, Denon, Bose.

I bought these headphones for mixing purpose and for listening pleasure.

sound is excellent across the spectrum...well ballanced, isolated sound....only prob with these headphones are the spongy ear pad part....they wear out after couple years....otherwise, great sound, comfortable. I owned one for about a decade

Why the 7506's little brother, the 7502. Not quite as built as the 06 but still very nice for a pro headphone.
