  • What kind of teacher/ woman, for that matter, see's a little girl in that condition and not take her to go get washed and cleaned up. Social workers are soft in that city. Anywhere else, those kids would have been gone...

  • why is everyone getting mad at Lizzie? its not her fault!!!

  • "she's got a mind of her own; she's a feminist" :D

  • She says Mummy X]

  • the horror she endured and still managed to go to college makes me really grateful for what have tanks to her story i understand it can be worse

  • i cried the 1st part

  • I wish i had a teacher that nice ><, and we should be happy of what we have. We need to be Happy we have a loving family, Even if you guys may fight. Also Be happy you also have a loving home. C:

  • Figure out my life ..... do people actually do that?

  • "she's a feminist", saying that will solve any situation. lol

  • I really don't understand why they're yelling at her for not cleaning and going to school when it's obviously the dad who's responsible for her. Makes no sense.

  • why do they have to be so mean to her? shes just a little kid not an adult it should be her parents responsibility to make sure she goes to school

  • AWHHH MY NAME IS EVA :D !!!!!!!

  • she makes me want to go and take a shower right now :/

  • lice....that could spread through a school like wildfire. I'm surprised the teachers didn't do something.

  • What is it with these asshole social workers? Don't wanna be a social worker? Don't become one. That guy is an asshole.

  • The female social IS the real Liz Murray :) cameo 8:25

  • The female social IS the real Liz Murray :) cameo

  • Does anybody undestand why they are asking a little girl to clean up the flat and go to school, and not the father, who is legally responsible for her? They are treating her as if she were the one with drug-addiction, but come on, she is just the victim, and she is a child...

  • She's legally blind yet see appears to track everything with her eyes?

  • @super0star0material when you legally blind you can still see things. her tracking is her struggling to depict what it is she's looking at. my father is legally blind and he does that like if my dogs walk across the room he can track the blob. he might not know what it is but he can remember black blob close to the floor is probably the dog

  • How the fuck can they afford cable but not any food..

  • @satnam678 true non of the perants had a job but either way they had money for cable and for drugs

  • @olivera12349 i think the mom sold herself for sex.

  • @satnam678

Her dad was smart enough to figure out how to get it without paying.

  • wow rude teacher or what i would of smacked the bitch even if she was trying to be "nice"

  • wow rude teacher or what i would of smacked the bitch even if she was trying to be "nice"

  • eww did she just put water all over cerial

  • 1:51 ...how professional is that of a teacher to say haha

  • today is the real liz murray's bday!

  • This movie makes me realize how blessed I am to having such a loving family and a roof over our heads with food on the table.

  • people like this shouldnt have kids especially in that condition

  • I love her cute voice <3

  • This makes my childhood seem like royalty!

  • dont make a fuss--yer whilst they rip apart the only kind of home she has ever knowen (even it is horrendous)

  • amazing movie.. Liz Murray You are amazing.. bless

  • It isn't her fault that her house isn't clean and it isn't her fault she does go to school. That shouldn't be yelling at her

  • WTF? Why are they yelling at Liz like it's her responsibility to clean her house up and get to school? She's a child for god's sakes.

  • Thank you so much! :)

  • Thank you so much for uploading such an inspiring movie! xx

  • what the hell dont those fucking retards know the mothers neglecting them

  • why are the blaming the fucking little girl, she's a child?! like going to the system is her fucking fault when her parents are clearly unfit.

  • Oh God. .. that's nasty.... filthy wear under wear till they fall apart so sad

  • From 0:31 to 1:14 Omg thats so sad! She must have so many infections and diseases from not being able to keep clean. Why didnt someone help her and give her a nice bath or place to shower? :-(

  • Well to be fair she could have cleaned the place up and gone to school. I had to when I was a kid.

  • =/ Why the HELLLL is the teacher getting into their life? Back up Bitch! & the Girl should've went w/ her mom and sister..

  • Yes

  • I am gonna leave a * on every part that I cry on for every time I cry, cause I bet it'll be on every video part. **

  • @SunsetShadows1990 That is New York, too many people, so they probably just used some random building.

  • howcome in the movie they have it the mother (and lisa) going to her pops house, but yet in the book liz writes it as her mother and (and lisa) went to her new boyfriends house to stay. and how comein the book Chris's name was Sam? and the teacher Dave in this movie name was Perry in the book? why are there differences between the book and t he movie if both of them are supposed to be true stories, like i dont know now whats true and whats not!

  • @relimes I agree with you. I read the book and I think the movie is nothing compared to the book.

  • The teacher looks like The Monalisa!

  • Why cant the tears stop?? gussh my head hurts...but i have to finish the movie...

  • I love this movie. I save the enitre movie. I love it. what about anyone else.

  • water for cereal i feel so bad

  • @SimplyNicStacxxx I agree! Like girls act like it's the end of the world when they break up with someone.. Some ppl wish their problem was that simple!!

  • Cornflakes with water? wow this is the saddest movie ever

  • this is exactly why people shouldnt bitch & complain about every little thing..there are way more intense issues out here that are way more improtant than your nose being to big or you need breast implants!! ugh

  • 2:40-2:44 what in blue hell is Liz saying?

  • @relimes If you had asked me about R-S i would have gotten it wrong. I was just lucky.

  • Didnt the Dad work? and you know if Liz had only gone to pops with her mother, she would have avoided the group home for 5 years.

  • very inspired movie..

  • the woman at 825 is the real liz murray..

  • like i said, i love this movie so much. its so cool liz murray made a cameo appearance in this. I love this movie and Gracie's Choice

  • ok , i have a roof over my head, food, and a education, she lived like this and got into harvard, wow

  • @iocean92 its because she deserved it.

  • @iocean92 its because she deserved it.

  • @baaybiiex13 She was just stating a comparison.... gosh, dont have to be so rude .

  • @iocean92 I know ! I feel like crap, I'm about to cry. I'm such a bad daughter and my parents are stable and dont have any addictions whatsoever, and they love me and show it, and I'm just a bitch...

  • It's pretty awesome that the real Liz Murray made a cameo appearance as the caseworker's partner @8:38

  • @bubblyburberry24 really? that's AWESOME!!

  • Even though she was far from a perfect mother, she cared about Liz, at least when she wasn't on drugs. Her advice proved it.

  • You know? For a mother that's dying from AIDS, she does give good advice. "Don't ever run away from home." She has a point about that because running away isn't going to solve anything. It will make things worse and you'll soon live to regret it.

  • NO ONE OR MOVIE OR STORY CAN MAKE ME CRY!!!!

...Ok a little bit tear u.,u

  • at least the parents r not abusive..

n how can they expect a kid to clean up the house which is a total wreck? duh~!

  • at least they're not abusive.. how are they expecting a kid to clean up the house?? duh~!

  • This is my take on the whole movie. People dont take life to seriously and the kids have to suffer. They mess around in school and drop out. They dont appreciate the things in life. I think Humans are Ignorant. including myself.

  • I did not know that Social Services can take your kids away if they don't go to school? That doe snot make sense. I thought it was an individual (Parent and or child) Choice in regards to that matter.

  • @mustange550 it's not ! untill your like 16 or 17 years old it depends on the state which you live in. unless you wanna do home schooling, If the child is home bound the government will get him/her a tutor.

  • the dad raped his daughter?!-_-

  • is this real?

  • @TheTB00 yes.its based on a real life story.

  • Her mother has AIDS and she's calling herself invincible. NOONE is invincible. She can't live forever, especially with AIDS.

  • @CovergirlB the worst stage of aids is the third stage(if you live that long)is when you turn blind.

  • WHY ON EARTH WOULD THEY TELL THAT SWEET POOR & INNOCENT GIRL TO CLEAN UP A SHIT-HOLE made by her parents? They should have asked the dad

  • Boring movie so far

  • poor kids! they are going through a lot! this movie makes me grateful for the things i do have. It's a blessing to have a good home, parents, clothes, and hygiene. this movie is very sad!

  • it's only part 2, and im sobbing. this is so sad. :/

  • thora birch a terrfic actress and i enjoyed watching all of her movies while growing up.

  • This movie is hitting WAY to close to home...

  • aww the teacher's so nice =)

  • why are they blaming her for not cleaning up? its the parents job to clean their house...ugh this movie is sad!! poor girl :(

  • @loveub88 this movie made me cry too its really sad to think thats how some peoples life are.

  • The young Liz doesn't really look like Thora Birch.

  • does this movie make anyone else cry or am i the only one? damn this is sad for real.

  • this movie maked me reflect all of the things that are around me :)

  • @loveub88 - yes it horrible - so disgusting that people are treated this way.

  • @loveub88 no, u arent the only one. It's a sad fact that we who have more, cry about our little problems, while people have less than us and they have to deal with it. I just cried the whole time while watching this move. It made me think..

  • @loveub88 have you seen Gracie's Choice? its real good

  • @loveub88 me

  • @loveub88 This movie makes me cry too. Its so sad...

  • @loveub88 this makes me apeciate my parents a little bit more

  • @loveub88 Oh gosh, yes, I do not know how we tolerate this to happen in so-called "developed countries". And geez, kids can be awfully cruel to one and other.

  • WTF they're asking a little child to clean the mess...wow

  • I know ask the kids to clean. I am a parent my kids won't even clean there rooms.

  • cleaning your personal space is different. the last time my mom entered my room for cleaning was when I was 5. but here they ask a little girl to clean a place that looks like a garbage place...

  • @sepidehtje yea...case workers srsly arnt very understanding ppl...

  • @sepidehtje she aint little. i was cleaning the house at 11 years old.

  • @ILUVJEZUZ94 well I cleaned the house since I was ten because my parents worked both and I rarely saw them but if the house was nasty or sth that wouldn't be my fault. the child has the least responsibility in this case.

  • @sepidehtje i know!! like are you serious? like her piece of shit parents dont exist..i hate this system

  • @sepidehtje I know, right? They should talk to the dad

  • @sepidehtje i know!!

And the father lying on the couch

  • OK the people who are supposed to watch out for the kids..........are mean as fuck!

  • poor child

  • 4:15...the mother's arms (whoa). I can't imagine what it must be like for children to live in a home where drugs are present. The people are not bad, but bad influences also affect their children, whether the parents intend this or not.

Liz's belief in a better world inspired me and the way she was able to deal with her problems...she is a lot stronger than me! Bless her!

  • I admire Liz's courage to keep going. Her ambition and hope helped her continue in life, despite how horrible of a beginning she had.

  • Even if children have "unfit" parents, in their eyes, it is better than having nothing. This breaks my heart and I have been opened to the plight of abandoned and needy children.

I have traveled to Haiti, Ukraine, South Africa and Swaziland and heard the plights of so many children. I hope to be able to help Ukrainian orphans on a full-time basis after finishing education.

  • I remember when she came to talk to our school. She's an inspiration.<3

  • That case worker chick in the background is the real Liz Murray FYI.

  • @GoddessTsukuyomi i didnt know that :-s

  • i feel sorry for this girl i can't imagine going without washing up.for days in days
