...actually in some southern states, voting DID IN FACT require a test, which is how the republicans were able to disenfranchise so many black voters. Of course the test was geared in favour of white voters. The right is notorious for scams to disenfranchise people who are the most likely to vote left of center, and the party has already begun...
...this isn't even taking into account that a new form of poll tax is now in progress. Early voting is supposed to shorten the voting lines, and yet people in primarily poor and minority areas are having to wait in line for hours upon hours to vote. If this isn't a poll tax, I don't know what is. The people that are less likely to take 6 hours off of work to stand in line are being targeted. These republicans are pretty clever.
It might help to speed the lines up during voting if we were allowed to post voting booths in churches, but we can't because that would impede on the seperation of church and state, but what I don't understand really is why atheists care if there is voting in churches or not. Isn't it just another building then? If you want to get more voting booths, get your big democratic majority government to make more, because you sure as hell won't do anything to help.

...actually in some southern states, voting DID IN FACT require a test, which is how the republicans were able to disenfranchise so many black voters. Of course the test was geared in favour of white voters. The right is notorious for scams to disenfranchise people who are the most likely to vote left of center, and the party has already begun...

...this isn't even taking into account that a new form of poll tax is now in progress. Early voting is supposed to shorten the voting lines, and yet people in primarily poor and minority areas are having to wait in line for hours upon hours to vote. If this isn't a poll tax, I don't know what is. The people that are less likely to take 6 hours off of work to stand in line are being targeted. These republicans are pretty clever.

It might help to speed the lines up during voting if we were allowed to post voting booths in churches, but we can't because that would impede on the seperation of church and state, but what I don't understand really is why atheists care if there is voting in churches or not. Isn't it just another building then? If you want to get more voting booths, get your big democratic majority government to make more, because you sure as hell won't do anything to help.
