  • That was scary

  • Very well done! I have a relative that I do NOT want to get a bird because she will mistreat it so I will forward this video. Thanks!! (I wish you could have pointed out the fact that their bites can be very painful) Great vid!

  • i have a african grey they talk like a human not some weird un human shit

  • so much bull i have a parrot if they escape they will leave a couple of droppings thats it and you clean their cage every couple of days

  • You really need to reserch these beautiful animals before you start giving them bad names. You obviously don't have a clue!

  • my caique spin around to.. <3

  • I have two Australian white cockatoos, hand raised them and they are not that awful i mean they dont mess up the house as i let them out all day...i dont know why you trying to put bad picture in those ppls minds who want to own parrots, they are lovely creatures to own

  • Just give your bird lots of love and attention and you wont have to worry about the screaming so much. Parrots are a lot of work, but patience serves great rewards! like... snuggling!!!

  • not that this video said people shouldn't have birds as pets. just saying that those that do say that, I feel are misinformed.

  • Owning any animal is like having a kid. If you take care of it properly by ensuring it has a healthy, happy environment then it's an extremely rewarding experience. I don't think telling people not to have birds as pets is the way to go. That's like telling people not to breed because the kids are going to scream and be messy and they're just way to much work. Yeah, kids/pets are hard work, but the reward of putting in that time is love and an enriching life experience. Just be prepared to work

  • i have a vorbeart his name is riki and he dosnt screem and he dosnt make mess if he get out he stands on the chair thats a lie yo make

  • I'm guessing Parakeets and Cockatiels are okay then.

  • Haha yes my umbrella cockatoo is defo very very noisy when she gets annoyed. I've had her since she was 7 months old. My god do you know about it when the hormones kick in. She's 8 now. She went mad for men from the age of about 5, she loves men. I remember taking her to the vet when she was about 3 years old, she goes every year for a check up but I asked the vet how I would know her hormones had kicked in and he laughed and said trust me I'll know. He wasnt wrong there!

  • R.I.P to the people with headphones listening to the birds scream :( you will be missed

  • well my galah is not noisy

  • I just rescue a cockatoo which never had one before. I'm so lucky to have her cause she been train well. She loud only when she's hungry . She dance n talk where ever she want . if I tell her stop it she stop right the way.. I guess Having s parrot it's like a dog. Cleaning yes must be everyday doesn't take to long...it's worth it but they need lots of attention like kids. I'm happy

  • What she says is true to a degree, the loudness issue depends on how you train them as a chick, so im afraid you fail to get my gold star of the day, im even more sorry to day you fail to get the lowest level of my awards, becuase your info sucks. ^.^ have a nice day

  • my conure was s confused when he heard this hes only loud when he wants attention otherwise he just sleeps

  • u just pick the noisy birds on here some can be quiet and why would u put that on youtube there might be some kids wanting one so bad and u just change thier mind:(

  • @SuperFalconBird but you dont know if ur bird will be the quiet or loud kind. different parrots have different personalities. if this video changed their minds then they wernt ready for a parrot in their house

  • SOOO true my two cockatoos scream the house down lol.. but they are vvery sweet and quiet when they are out and yes they do destroy everything they tell you to f**k up when there in a bad mood lol but most the time they just want kisses.. they looked very confused as i played this video with the other bird noises

  • I have cockatiel he is a Parrot but his noise is like music to my ears he is a sweet sounding bird if you want to get a parrot start with a cockatiel they live up to 15 to 20 years. =)

  • dude I just got my parrot he is very afraid of me pls help!

  • Im happy i have my lovebird:) shes sweet to me, has lovely singing, dosent scream, and has beautiful colours! But it dosent mean that bigger parrots are horrible and nothing more!! Its cause they are smart that they make a mess and call for theyre owners :) lol

  • thank god my bird is a canary :D

i might download this video, and show this to my nephews who wants a macaw eventhough they have no idea how to care for them lol

  • thumbs up if you lower the volume when the parrot scream

  • you didn't mention green cheeks. they are nice and quiet

  • The cockatoo scared the fudge out Of me

  • This video makes birds sound like bad pets, but they are nice and are great pets to have!!

  • The Jack Russell Terrier of my neighbours barks the whole day , even without a reason. How much I wish my noisy but funny cockatiels back that I had during my youth !

You are absolutely right to show the not so funny sides of parrot ownership but real birdlovers know that and give two of this funny feathered Clowns a good home

  • I wish people would be screened before owning a bird. ESPECIALLY the bigger species. Everyone wants the beautiful Cockatoo. .... but if you don't give it enough interaction (we're talking HOURS a day) that beautiful 'Too becomes destructive, compulsively plucks feathers, becomes LOUD, etc. DO NOT get a bird unless you REALLY REALLY know WTF you're getting into.

  • i have birds even when they werent tamed they wouldnt do that horrible of a thing out when they are out of there cage

  • what about african greys i have one

  • You can teach parrots not to scream right? Does every parrot make this much of a mess when out of the cage and does an african grey make that much noise?

  • @1125louis - You can stop a bird from being "too" noisy by giving it a healthy lifestyle, a cage it can fly in, a friend of its own kind, lots of toys, etc. But you can never stop a bird from being loud some time every day, because that's what they are.

  • I actually like the noise. It's cute so I am getting an eclectus and spending 24/7 with it. Good thing I work at home :)

  • Wow, and I wanted and Electus. :D I have a Green Cheek and he is just perfect. :) I think i'll stick with only him for a few years. :)

  • Thank you for making this video. Some people buy a parrot thinking its a decoration for their house! Its more like having a child that you can legally keep in a cage occasionally.

  • Thank you for this excellent video. When I walk through my neighborhood, I always hear parrots screeching from some of the houses I pass on the other side of the street. Now I can identify what species they are!

  • 2:00 donky sound

  • @creepygirl94

U need 2teach them 2 poop on command and take them over a garbage or cage etc and make them poop.....they usualy go evry 10-20 min depending on the species and wat they r doing.....my quaker normally goes every 10 min....its realy training urself 2 remembr every 10 or 20 min

  • You figured out how to make a video...now all you have to master is spellcheck!!!

  • I still want ANOTHER parrot, I already have a cockatiel. And I've heard macaws do that in real life, I can hear it from my house, which is 2 blocks away!

  • @therock435 me and you both

  • the amazon is being raped...

  • that cockatoo sounds like a dragon...

  • OMG!!!! I HONESTLY HATE THIS VIDEO ALL OF THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!!!!!! ITS JUST LIKE TAKING CARE OF A DOG!!! IF YOUR LAZY DONT GET A BIRD!!!!

  • @abercrombie9teen ALL OF IT is true :)

  • parrots like to sing to you in the language they know best !

  • Just for future reference, the cockatoo calls were from different species. Do ur homework on the specific species you are getting. Also, generally the more attention a parrot gets the quieter, I've been spending twice as much time with my conure(first bird call on the vid) and she only does that for maybe 2 minutes a day now..

  • I have a greenwing macaw. And yes, this video is true. They do to take a lot of time and a HUGE amount of attention, and love. But people also need to know is these parrots can and most do make those noises from time to time. The parrots that constantly scream like that are probably not giving them the time and attention they crave and need, therefore they scream to get you to acknowlege them. Very good video though <3

  • THE HONEST TO GOODNESS TRUTH BEHIND PARROTS & HAVING ONE IN YOUR HOME!!! ((:

ONCE A DAY? NO WAY! ITS MORE LIKE ALL DAY ON AND OFF CLEANING UP, AND THEY SCREECH, SCREAM & FLAP THEIR WINGS AS A RELEASE DUE TO ANXIETY, COMPANIONSHIP, LACK OF EXERCISE & FREEDOM!

THEY ARE NOT A TOY THEY ARE A LIVING BEING, PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THE IMPORT OF BIRDS, PARROTS OF ANY KIND!

THANK YOU, FROM A BIRD LOVER, PREVIOUS OWNER & RESCUE

  • I think this video is very informative and realistic. I have 2 lovebirds and toying with the idea of one day getting a Moluccan cockatoo (of course, it will have it's own habitat area and not share the area with my lovebirds as they are the size of little snacks for this giant). There is a lot of care and attention that must be given to parrots in order for them to be well-trained and happy. This video is good at swaying those who are not prepared to stay away.

  • very good video, i worked with the public for many years as a tour guide, met alot of people who all think parrots are cool they talk, well not all do,,, and yes, they do make a mess, it's their nature,, and they do scream some species more than others.. but so many poeple just thought, cool to own a bird....

  • This is a great video. I have 10 parrots, 3 Macaws, 4 Amazons, 2 African Greys and an Indian Ringneck. Also, 4 lovebirds. People do not realize that this noise is a normal calling of these creatures. I see some people saying their birds are quiet. Birds all make noise, unless they are sick, in the wild it is natural to call to each other..it is something that goes along with owning them. Some get used to it, some people go nuts & pass the poor bird on to someone else.Be prepared for noise & mess

  • omg its like owning a T-Rex

  • Honestly the amount of swearing, can't people these days express themselves without repeating the f-word? The parrot video is great I only wish someone would make one for dogs and horses too, hundreds get put down everyday in animal shelters because people don't look after them. If you are considering to get a pet please adopt, you'll save a life. And whatever you do DON'T BREED unless you can find the little ones a PROPER HOME!!!!!!!

  • music is lol

and the video maker is stupid

  • man u made them look so bad i got parrots and firstly your spose to let them out of the cage stuiped you got to train them not to be that destructive i got a 40 INCH a computer and al those things in that picture and my parrots dont even touch them (well they did when they were young but their curious just say NO in a firm voice) and my parrots are very quite unless something really irratates them or they want attention and yes it true they are messy but if ur dedicated and love them ull clean

  • you make it sounds like they are awful Ô_o but I have a dog barking non stop. he's got the most annoying bark I've ever heard, I've also got many cats. I need to clean after them daily (litter box and pukes on the carpet)....I really want a parrot, I could handle it I'm sure ^_^ (AFTER the cats and dog xD)

I didn't know parrots could make such a mess though Ô_o OMG

also one silly question... do they poop anywhere? or do you teach them where to do their business and then it's fine?

  • It's an animal that in the wild is NEVER alone. That's what it needs in captivity too, to NEVER be alone. They develop mental problems if left alone too much. It's not a dosmesticated animal, even if hand raised.

  • You also didn't mention the biting. It happens. It ruins your day too!

  • I lol'ed so hard at the Cockatoo being loud. It sounded like a dinosaur being killed slowly.

  • The person that made this video cares. so many of these birds end up neglected or dead. One great bird is a parrotlet. Tiny, sweet, and quiet (chirps) and much less messy than bigger birds.

  • LOL! SO TRUE... But worth it! Thanks for telling it how it is! Ekkies are my favorite; they are not as destructive as other species in my experience. Anyway, well done! Favoriting this! ;)

  • LOL. I wouldn't dare buy a cockatoo. Yes I agree that parrots take a good amount of time, money and dedication to take care of properly. Undedicated people should not have one. They do make fantastic friends if you hang around them enough.

  • I'm glad you made this video for the people who see adorable clips of parrots talking and suddenly decide they want one. The noise can be ungodly!

  • I love my too, she's almost 4 and get's at least 4 hours of attention a day, fresh fruits and veggies ( all organic), and yes she screams about 5 to 10 min a day.... but you know what I am using her as a therapy bird she loves attention from anyone, never has bitten me or ANYONE, she is a whore, loves anyone, I got her when I was 21 and have had over 14 years of experience with birds... boo ya!

  • i clearly see that you only show the down sides on purpose, and YES the size matter! do you think a tiny cockatiel can do the same damage as a great macaw?! and who dosen't know all of this stuff? who is stupid enough to get a parrot or any other animals without KNOWING that they need food and cleaning! when making a video like this i kinda expected from you that the good stuff would come in the end but well, you obviously hate your parrot. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR MIND BECAUSE OF THIS :(

  • i have a parrot you are discouraging these viewers to buy one but ok...

  • i have a parrot

  • u didnt cange my mind!

  • i dont want a parrot no more

  • @sonicgold1991 they only mentioned the downsides. trust me. as a parrot owner, they are the most fun animals EVAR!!!

  • I have a macaw her name is baby THANK GOD shes not a screamer. :)

  • Thank you, I will never own a bird.

  • still want it

  • Great job you did with this video! I hope so called "birdlover" consider about your vid before they buy a parrot. But you forgot the practice of solitary keeping of birds. Many petbirds are forced by their owners to live without an animal-fairly partner. So sad!

  • The Cockatoo being loud sounds like a Dinosouar!

  • How often? It depends on the individual. My friend has an Amazon that never utters a peep, but my flock-o-tiels greets every morning with cheerfully LOUD vocalizations that you can hear through thick concrete walls to the parking garage. When I get home from work I am also greeted with very LOUD vocalizations that tones down a little as they chatter for several hours.

Want to talk on the phone? LOUD!

    Want to watch TV? LOUD!

Want to practice your violin? Oh, they sing along. LOUD.

  • noise but the mess!!!! omg be ready for a mess beyond ww3. and to fix the bird playing majic tricks lol try puting white( or the color of the cage) sewing string around the door... tie it in a bow so its easy to get undone the bird cant see it or wont notice it all our birds have gotten out and it works on all of them they can figure out why the door wont open... kinda sad to watch but no mess and random poop on the floor

  • i have a lovebird and my grandpa has a macaw and my brother has a rainbow lorikeet(sp???) the lori yells at us when he is not happy but after a good 5 min of loving and about 15 min out of the cage and being played with the yelling stops and he yells when necessary. the lovebird is a sweet heart but just dont let that bowl get empty oh gosh never hear the end of it haha. the macaw is just mean but has never yelled unless someone else yells he is about 20 now and has never been a problem with

  • This is why I own my little female tiel. I am honest with myself and know that I would probably not be able to handle that amount of screaming... Haha. Good video.

  • how often do parrots scream? I want to take care of one but I'm afraid they might constantly annoy me while doing homework.

  • This is one of the best and most important videos on youtube. Millions of parrots end up homeless, unwanted, abused, and neglected because people bought a parrot not knowing the responsibility. Also add the poop scrubbing, daily cage cleaning, long life span (even the smallest of parrots can live to be 45 years. Birds don't make good pets for most people, and even those people eventually give them up. Most parrots end up in at least 4 or 5 homes before they die prematurely.

  • WHAT ABOUT AFRICAN GREYS??? ARE THEY NOISY???

  • @bilaremix

My African Grey isn't that noisy. She talks loud enough that you can hear her in the house but not from outside.

and even then she only starts getting loud when you walk by and ignore her.

  • @bilaremix it depends, african greys tend to be less noisy than species like macaws and cockatoos, but still, they can be very noisy if the need arises, for example, my african grey lives in a cage by a door, and if that door is open and he feels a breeze coming in, you'll be noticed about it. besides, they start calling out loud if you don't provide them enough attention or if they get scared. but still, to be honest, my lovebirds cockatiels and such make a lot more noise than my african grey.

  • no way i have 8 parakeets i gonna keep it noise but not to bad

  • Nice alexandrine at the end :D

  • i have a cockatoo but how do i make it shut up??? Should i buy her more toys?

  • @joker5396 They ARE extremely noisy.

You can avoid making it worse by giving him proper attention and play time, enough safe toys to chew and keep him busy. Also, it is very important you do NOT respond to your pet screaming for attention. Parrots are very smart and will quickly understand ''screaming = human pays attention to me'' if you make it a habit.

Noise is a MAJOR point to consider when chosing a parrot. Cockatiels and amazons are not as noisy as sun conures or cockatoos.

  • my moluccan loves this video.. and yes, she's displayed a few of those out of the cage behaviors... i believe we have stock in universal remotes for our tv!! she loves to see whats inside!!

  • ahahhahahaha kokatoo made me fucking jump off my chair xD 1:50

  • The sound at 1:50 is disturbing. It sound like a giant monster hissing.

  • At 0:26 i can't believe a parrot can do that.Only a hawk or a giant eagle could have done it.

  • ur a fuking noob that y people like them u dush!!!!

  • excellent vid, i hope more people realize that large parrots are not suitable for keeping as pets unless you have lots of money, time and a huge aviary in a tolerant neighborhood

parakeets and parrotlets can be great fun too, and they aren't as loud, expensive or demanding

  • One comment I have to make on the paragraph describing the video is: diet requirements vary BY SPECIES! Macaws need more fat in their diet, but a Quaker parrot can become very ill if there's too much protein or fat... Too much seed/nut mix is bad for some but good for other species, and fruits and veggies SHOULD NOT be considered "a treat"...but rather a necessity to the diet appropriate to the species. Your pellet comment I agree with - it can be boring. Some birds do NOT react well to them.

  • Wow my first bird was a unbrella cockatoo......... I never would have regreted it =P

  • i LOVED the part in the video of the Umbrella cockatoo!! lol! At work we have a Umbrella, Moluccan, Goffin's cockatoo, Maroon bellied conure, and Pacific parrotlett. The umbrella, moluccan, and Goffin's can be extremely noisy! Especially when talking on the phone or with customers! They thrive in an environment where they get LOTS of attention and are given toys that are safe to play with and tear up. It's best if you change their toys regularly so they don't get bored. Love this video!

  • OMG from all 4 of the parrots I had. No single one has made such of a mess. In regards to the noise: they shut up at some point. Usually ignoring them or covering the cage with a blanket for 10 minutes works for me.

All had been amazons and I suppose their noise has never put me off. But is good to make people aware.

Just this mess made me WOW!

  • We adopted an African Grey and had to put him up for adoption after our daughter was born. He was used to being an "only bird", and after we had another little one in the house, our Grey began to act up. It was a heart wrenching decision. SO BEWARE: adopting a parrot is a lifelong responsibility. They are children who never grow up -- they need constant attention and stimulation. If you have the time (and the money), they are wonderful family members.

  • LOL Are you talking about Gadzilla or parrots?

  • I think the best thing would be if people HAD to have a lisense for a parrot and prove they know how to look after them. If you have the time and knowledge they are amazing pets. My eclectus boy is sitting next to me now on the couch, I'm at home most of the time so he's around his human flock all the time. I was surpised by your sound clip of the eclectus - mine only talks in a disney type voice, he never screams except at the vet lol.

  • @sarahmarshadlam I think the same for almost every animal. Some people shouldn't have dogs or cats but they do:)

  • African Greys don't make much noise. My GF bought them and we keep her in the living room. It hates guys though for some reason.

  • I have a U2 and mine has never made such a mess! That looks like someone don't clean up after themselfes and im not talking about the parrot! The diet is true and the noise is not like that all day long with a well trained bird! I hate people that try to make everything bad! Owning a bird is like having another child, you feel that much love for them! If you want some advice on cockatoos just email me and maybe i can help!

  • @doughenon The problem isn't so much the love in most cases, the problem is that people don't realize what responsibility it means to take care of any animal. Like Cesar Millan likes to say, when it comes to dogs: Exercise, discipline, affection. In that order. It goes for all animals. If you are unable to stimulate them correctly and teach them proper behavior, you will always have problems no matter how much you love them.

  • My friend's cockatoo sounds like that... and it's out of it's cage all day, and it goes to the vet every 6 months... so that IS the sound of a healthy cockatoo!

    I'm getting a baby macaw!! :3

  • One thing not mentioned in the video: Birds need dedicated attention. Birds are social creatures, and cannot be kept in isolation. They need attention, and depend on their owners for it since they're the only things that ever interact with them. Attention deprived birds will develop behavioral problems such as: Feather plucking, biting, and excessive screaming as heard in this video. Birds are loud as is, but without attention, that screaming will never stop.

  • EXCELLENT video! Thank you for posting! It left out ... daily cage cleaning.

  • O_o Parrots are lovely, lovely creatures....but I will be sticking to the tiny Parakeets I've been caring for since I was 7, lol. It takes a strong person to care for such a consuming creature. MAJOR kudos to you!!

  • My parents are well meaning people, unfortunately were ill prepared for large birds. My dad insisted on having them only to leave them along with other every other household duty to my mum +she worked ft. As I got older I helped take care of them. Time came when I had to leave for uni. When I was away at school the female died. It was sudden and sad. After that, the male is now with a family who can properly devote the time to him.

Because of this I'm a better pet owner. Research is key!

  • Y u hatin da birds. You are crazy birds are awesome.

  • lier

  • this clip makes it seem like owning a parrot is torture. well its not torture its fun i know this because i happen to have a pet parrot she is an african grey parrot she pings but only when my dad isnt home or when she is tired or hungry

  • @joeypriolo That's not the point of this vid. It's to show some of the major problems an uneducated parrot owner might face.

  • @joeypriolo yep, totally right, i have 5 and i can live with it, plus, they do NOT make such a mess....if one can make that much mess, then y dnt my FIVE make mess too?? jeez...its not torture..ppl juz gotta c for their selves, u really make a point.....hope the best for ur birds. Good day, :D

  • or thirsty

  • or thirsty

  • this clip makes it seem like owning a parrot is torture. well its not torture its fun i know this because i happen to have a pet parrot her name is KK she is an african grey parrot she pings but only when my dad isnt home

  • Continued:

out of cage time is very important for all birds so i didn't agree with the start off the clip.

I also do not agree with the budgies being a good starter bird, they also constantly making noise and can be loud, messy and destroy!!!!

hens can also be extremly aggressive to each other

they require all the food and attention of larger birds, being small deosn't make them easy :D

  • i think this video is great with the sound clips and all potential owners should listen to it! i however do not agree with the impression the start of clip gives to me it came across as 'don't let your parrot out it's cage, it will destroy everything'

i think it would off been better off informing how to create a more parrot safe environment.

  • Not all parrots are this destructive, but the case illustrated sure does prepare one for the worst.

We're doing fine with our cockatiel, though he/she likes to rip the keycaps off of computer keyboards. Whenever "Clyde" sees a laptop computer, his brain says "DESTROY! DESTROY! MUST DESTROY!" Clyde reminds me of a monster from an Outer Limits episode. Our next parrot is going to be an African Grey. They're so smart and lovable.

Macaws can exert 75lbs of jaw pressure. Not a toy, definately!

  • i have two parrots.. and ones an escape artist and lets the other one out... but they don't make a mess.... they are annoying in the morning but they shut up quickly..

  • Any opinions on Parrotlets? Are they any easier to deal with?

  • So that's where they got the sound effects for Jurassic Park....

All of the screams, and the picture of the mess, depends entirely on the owner, breed of bird, and the bird's personality. I had a quaker, they are supposed to be very loud birds, but because i gave my bird a good amount of attention, he remained quiet. I trained him to scream only when other people enter the room without me. Personal security alarm and a nice attack bird, when annoying kids came over.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm from australia, we have a lot of cockatoos around, and they make that noise often, louder and at the worst hours. Doesn't mean the bird is being "abused".

  • Comment removed

  • god dam you people freaking out on the video maker are fucking stupid, she is not dissing parrots or anything shes trying to prepare you for what you will have to deal with at some point with parrots as pets and how to take care of them, jeez.

  • FAKE!

  • lier i'ver had a parrot out befor its fine they realy just sit on my tv u were robbed and blamed it on your bird

  • Also, if you get it hand raised it will be nicer and wont make as much noise. and why the fuck would you leave the bird out when you leave. That is just asking for trouble. God you make me fucking sick. And if they are making alot of noise, give it some fucking attention. kbye

  • Also, if you get it hand raised it will be nicer and wont make as much noise. and why the fuck would you leave the bird out when you leave. That is just asking for trouble. God you make me fucking sick. And if they are making alot of noise, give it some fucking attention. kbye

  • Than you shouldnt own a fucking animal you prick. A dog could have made that mess. And when they make noise they want attention. And the amazon has a beautiful call. And that is not the sound of a cockatoo. That is not what any of the birds sound like. And if it is you have bad sound quality. And you should have veggitables in your house unless your a fat cow that eats mcdonalds all the fucking time. You make me sick. parrots of any kind are a great animal.

  • Cage up an animal that should be flying in the wild and, yeah, it's gonna be pissed. What did you think you were getting, a Tamagotchi?

  • i have a parrot he dosent have a cage and wan we think he ran away the next day he comes back .tran your parrot it is so f@^\ easy so you can shut the f@^\ up

you are just to lasy t

  • i want a parrot but i dont know wat kind 2 get its between a cokatoo or amazon or double yellow headed nape :S

  • parrots are not bad animals at all we have too birds and they are very sweet and loving. they should never be able to get out of there cage when humans are gone they could hurt themselves. all animals need certain diets and fresh water. birds are great they just want to be loved and get attention.

  • lmao yeaaa my dad caught 1 it got out da cage nd ruined da garden, but its a sweet parrot its been about 4 months it oredy lets me cuddle it :)

  • Oh yeah our B&G is so terrified by a ballon, screaming worse than this 1:58

  • thanks for posting. Good to know.

  • I have a parrot white eyed conure and he stays out of his cage nearly all day and doesnt chew on anything just licks the chair he stands on and screams when some one puts a coat on he doesnt like to be left alone

  • i need one of those cockatoos to get me out of bed in the morning! my rainbow lorikeet likes to sleep in until 10 lol he gets angry if i turn the light on at 6

  • I was kinda sad u didn't show what noise cockatiels make, and yes every parrot can be loud but like there's said before they aren't loud all the time. For example my parrots don't make loud noises all the time, only when ppl come in they like to inform ppl that they r there. Also they don't make loud noises on the mornings as well. Only when i come home , or when they want more water or food. So i wouldn't say that it's actually that bad as u make it seem. But every parrot is different ofcourse.

  • When you get a new bird and the old birds scream they're going to teach the newbies. Then you have a screaming parrot..

  • wow the cockatoo is LOUD....

  • lol cockatoo alarm

  • i own 4 parrots one is a conure an timneth grey, a keet and a parrotlet. i have also had tiels and lovebirds. and yes some tend to be very noisey. but not all the time and not early in the morning. lol my 4 are very well behaved and they are let out most of the day. One time my grey got out of his cage, and when i came home he was sitting on top of his play stand playing with toys. and not a thing was destroyed . yes they need alot of love and attention.. then again so do children

  • I own 3 birds, and have been to many parrot places. Yes, people, they need ALOT of work, especially the larger ones. And yes, they are loud! Moluccan 'toos can scream up to 135 decibels, which is deafening! (Trust me, I was once surrounded by 15 macaws and 3 cockatoos all screaming at the same time...)

  • Umm u obvously have one with major behavior problems because the only way that a parrot is going to want to get out and destroy everything it sees is if it has nothing in it's cage to play with

  • i've got a parrot, not tamed at all, its out every single day and the only things that needs to be cleaned is a tiny tiny pooh

  • @Lilosol Now how big is your parrot?

  • No do not tell them to "Lower the volume". Instead tell them to increase it!. Cause when you buy a parrot, it does not come with volume control! And then, imagine all the screaming EVERY DAY, and at 5 AM every morning.. Your neighbours WILL LOVE IT! And it you do not have at least 4 hours a day to give them, screaming will go on and on and on, non stop, every day. Do you really WANT a parrot??

  • oh my god u r so rite

you know my 2 lovebirds also scream in the morning or when they flying around the room and mess everything play with toys daily need a fresh water ,fruits and evrything but still loved them alot i was thinkng for buying a cocktoo now may b i cant oh god they have alouder voice my lovebirds got scared

but thankx for sharing a wonderful video

    :)

  • My parrot must be an angel compared to what you showed us O.o

  • whoever made this vidio is a total liar parrots are the best and they are low mantenece i have got 2 parrots

  • @huzaifa70 What, 2 little parakeets? I think you're wrong if you're talking about an amazon, cockatoo, and macaws.

  • @huzaifa70 What sort of parrots? Stuffed ones? No parrot is low maintenance, if you think it is then you must be neglecting it!

All parrots can be loud, all parrots can be destructive, whether it is a budgie or a macaw. That's not to say that all of them WILL be that loud or that destructive, but it is definitely a big possibility. Surely you would rather know the worse case scenario as illustrated in this video before racing out and making a commitment to an animal that can live up to 80 years

  • Good post. and this is all very true. I have two macaws and 1 moluccan cockatoo and she's not lying.. They are this loud. If you've done your research however and make the lifetime commitment, they are wonderful, but please do your research.. There are many rescues now because people did not realize the work involved with having these beautiful creatures

  • I think they should have as much cage-out time as possible & with the owner watching & showing them what to not touch, I had a specific pile of stuffs to tear, & once in a while new things to tear.

  • haha yeah i also own a parrot for 12 years now, i always let him out of his cage the whole day but he never did something like that no no.

you need to watch them all the time you can't leave them alone just saying lol.

  • This is a great vid for people thinking of getting a big parrot! Well done!

I agree with you about Budgies + cockateils being good beginer birds, lovebirds are good beginer bird too though they can be aggressive if neglected, I have lovebirds, cockateils and budgies and am hoping to one day get a indian ringneck too.

    Thanks 4 the awesome vid

  • Well i used to have my parrot in my room in a big cage and when i got him out he was ok even if he was flying around he would come next to me and i have lots of things in my room and a lot made of glass...i have posters, collages, skulls i even have some small candles and eventhough i thought that he would destroy them he did not.. maybe it is his specie cause he was an amazon i will get one now too cause i love them...

  • i got a quaker and he very noisy in the morning enough to make u scream stfu!

sometimes i got to put a blanket over his cage to shut him up

  • um you are making parrots out to be something that they are not. maybe with a bit of training and love this sorta stuff wouldnt happen.

  • PTERADACTYLS!

  • Why don't you focus on the positives instead of the negatives. Everyone should know what they'rte getting into before they adopt ANY pet, but you make exotic birds look terrible.

  • I know that loud cockatoo noise anywhere! Yep thats about normal for one.

  • i've got one and he does nothering... hes an african grey

  • omg the cockatoo is so noisy!
