This is a good video... a lot of content summarized rather well. Thanks for posting, looking forward to watching your future videos. There is a lot of average stuff out there on YouTube, but I think this is great material. How long have you been creating videos? I just started and am trying to pick up ideas from other users with content rich channels (like yours). Any tips?
yeah, I have an IBM thinkpad 760DV that runs DOS from the floppy. The battery is worn out to shit , the hard drive somehow can't be formatted by fdisk, can't load COMMAND into the CPU RAM and works like a charm!
lol I remember when 4mb was a lot, in my day you were rich if you had a 486 dx, most of us had 386 dx's or 486sx 25mhz. I remember upgrading to 2mb and then 4mb. It was like this for years then all of a sudden everything just went crazy and people had 256mb, then 512, then 1gb! I think it was the pentium that really started things off.
Oh the days of the 486 66MHZ, 16 megs of RAM and 120MB HDD. Wolfenstein 3D flew on that machine. Most of you don't even know what its like to surf at 2400.
@scaleop4 Computers were meant for business back in the day, but i remember that playing games on them were a novelty then. it was just for chuckles sake, or demonstration sake.
@cyberman486 Fujitsu! Those were the best hard 486-Early Pentium hard drives you could buy. Always ran forever. The best I could afford in the 486-Early Pentium days was a Quantum 3GB and an old 420mb Conner :P
Heh, I still have a 486BL-75 tower and an SX-25 desktop, both running as DOS gaming rigs. They're quite awesome machines, perfect examples of the saying, "They don't make 'em like they used to."
Half-Life 2 fan? :P Me too! :D great video, and the fact that amazed me is that 220 W power supply. It is in fact a good supply, today you can still buy supplies of 250 W,the regular being around 400. Si that was a prestty damn good supply back then. 5/5!
i have got 1 exactly the same and myne runs xp profesional verry verry slow but i find it a grate challange to doo something with thees old pcs like put 80 gb hard drives and 500 mb of ram up there ass if thats posible but not in some kases lol
Of course, not In all cases :) This PC can't handle 80gb hdd or 512mb RAM because he is too old. But really, this PC isn't really very old. 8086 or 8080 - that is really old.
I remember my old Ultra brand 486 processor computer with Windows 95 and a total of 12mb of ram. Should've never tossed it. I do still have a compaq with a pentium pro. 88mb of ram.
This was my first computer I ever had. We gave it to a smll store accross the street from where I live (about 10 years ago). The store owner took it too the dump yard when the closed a few weeks ago. It was still fully working right up until a few months before they closed.
Sir, I am prepared to write you a check for this fined tuned peace of Machinary, I feel as tho it will aide me and my attempt's To the be the Successor over Technology. Thank you for your time. Lads. I must be going now, I don't know where But i have a vision, A vision yes. Goodbye
Great Computer. its a classic! I have 2 486s i have an old gateway server tower with the DX2 and i upgraded the ram to 64mb it runs win 95. And i have an ibm ps/2 running both win 3.11 and os/2.
the lower drive is a 5 1/4" drive, which type had 1.2 megabytes, not 2.88, unless you're able to run it at a higher density. If you can, then how can you?
For Your Information, The lower floppy disk drive is NOT a 2.88MB as you claim at 1:11. That is a 360K or 1.20MB, 5,25" floppy disk drive. The 2.88MB floppies are physically equal to 1.44MB disks that are 3.5"!
Thats cool, I love old computers! If I had that computer, I would wipe Windows 95 and put Windows NT 3.5x on it.
Is the 2500 MB hard disk split up into 2 or more partitions? Windows 95 can only handle hard disks/partitions smaller than 2000 MB. Or is this Windows 95 OSR2?
Windows 95 OSR 2.1 (Version 4.00.950B or 4.03.121x) which is basically OSR 2 except it adds support for USB.
And finally, Windows 95 OSR 2.5 (Version 4.00.950C) which is basically Windows 95 OSR 2.1 except it includes IE 4 instead of IE 3.
To see what version of Windows 95 you have, right click My Computer, click properties, and the version number should be near the top. I can see it in the video, but it's too blury to read.

cyberman486 3 years ago
There is the original Windows 95 (Version 4.00.950) which supports only FAT16 (HD's less than 2000 MB), and doesn't include internet explorer.
There is Windows 95 OSR 1 (Version 4.00.950A) which is basically the original Win 95 with Internet Explorer 2.
There is Windows 95 OSR 2 (Version 4.00.950B) which supports FAT32 and ATA disk drives, and comes With Internet Explorer 3.
(Continued...)

(Continued from message below)
Windows 95 OSR 2.1 (Version 4.00.950B or 4.03.121x) which is basically OSR 2 except it adds support for USB.
