you will be able to see everything on the map by just looking around IRL!

Not that useful for gaming is it? You still need to be looking at a screen to see this which kind of kills the "real world" aspect.

The idea is that this will be incorporated into glass as sharpya says. For example a team from your part of the world has been working on implementing quake in this way. Of course if everyone does not have networked glasses seeing the same thing, one looks pretty stupid running around the real world shooting at thin air ^^

Or was the texture real and placed on the table? For there is a slight greenish reflection on your hand.

Eveything is real except obviously the avatar. The texture on the table looks unreal because of the way Youtube compressed the video.
