driving this car now for 2 months..110 miles per day commuting in heavy traffic..avg fuel economy has beeen 36-39mpg..AWESOME...i test drove this car just before a civic..the civic was cheaper and i still bought this...it was quiter and felt bigger and safer..have not regreted the decision for a second....try back to back test drives with other cars in this class...
Dodged a bullet. Was going to get my niece a Ford Fiesta but when I went doing Internet research to hear what owners were saying ... I learned how unhappy so many were, thus I dropped my interest.
I thought the Chevy HHR might be good because it has so much utility, but people were saying some things about them that weren't so good, like how the front windshield posts are major blind spots. Sooo I then heard about this car and was stunned by how happy the owners are and how good looking it is!
Really nice and aggressive styling ,nice cut and attention to detail ,yup nice side burns on the other hand the car looks like an orphan it has no background!
@datpimpinboy why are all compacts comming in 4 doors almost EXCLUSIVLY?
this sux man.... At least for the north american market. If you want a sporty looking 2 door coupe that doesnt have a sports car look choices are limited.
The front of the car looks like a Accord and the back looks like a BMW. LOL I checked the specs and the dimension of the this car. On some internet review sites for some reason they are comparing it to the honda civic.
They should be comparing it to the honda accord. Oh well I guess it anyway you can boost this cars reputation is by comparing to a different class.
It's not a brand new 2011 car. People were driving this car in Central Asia and Russia since 2008. It was built by GM Daewoo in South Korea. It's name is GM DAEWOO LACETTI PREMIERE. Look for more videos under GM DAEWOO LACETTI PREMIERE and you'll see.
If designing this car cost GM an average of $5 million a day? Why not just bring the Opel over? Rebrand it Chevy and save tons of money. Please don't bring the Astra over as a Buick either... people under 40 don't want to drive a Buick.
Developing this car has cost Chevrolet expenditure an average of $5million a day. Hundreds of prototypes have been tested to reach their goal. If you happen not to like Cruze, don’t blame its “shortcoming” that doesn’t favour you, think it as a sort of characteristic.
@TheIceManBig: Fuel economy will be through the roof on this vehicle. It is estimated that is will achieve almost 30 mpg city and 40 mpg highway. Also, there isn't a 1.6L available. They will be offering a 1.8L as the base engine and a turbo 1.4L as the upgraded engine...
@Evolve510: THey have not announced an SS as of yet, but they will have an RS appearance package to make it look nicer on the outside. This will include wheels, side rocker panels, front and rear fascia, fog lights and more
where is the new caprice? my mother has been waiting sence 1979 to replace her original peach 4 door with tan leather interior, still running on a completely stock motor. come on chevy!
I am confused. I though Holden was the originating company behind the design of the series 2 cruze

@RogerDeanChevrolet Too bad GM won't offer the 1.3L diesel that gets 67.3mpg. It's available in the Opel/Vauxhall Astra in the UK and Europe.

@xxxxdarksidexxxx If we all yell at GM loud and long enough they will make a civilian version of the new Caprice Police car, maybe as the new Impala.
