@citylightspictures RDR's overarching theme was the death of the West, both literally and metaphorically with the death of Marston and the encroachment of "the law" on the territory and people like him. I'm not sure if Rockstar just wanted to make that statement or if they were trying to underscore the end of the series. It would be nice if they went back and made some sort of prequel though...
