  • He really seems to llike women!

  • I'm just sitting here dreamily sighing :)

  • This is REAL singing! No autotune, no processing, no theatrics, no gymnastics! JUST PLAIN AND SIMPLE SINGING FROM THE HEART!!!

  • I never how much the human voice can kick your ass so much.

  • I love his version as much as I love Fred Astaire's. The first verse of this song always fills me with sweet nostalgia.

  • he has incorrect vocal technique! sorry, andy williams fans .....

  • @vincer0208 That's alright. We'll just have to somehow find the strength to carry on.

  • @JeffersonDinedAlone You do sound very condescending......

  • @vincer0208 Shouldn't you be making that observation about yourself? You seem to have things backward here.

  • @vincer0208 Ok and what have u done with ur correct vocal technique deary?

  • @Shamsithaca Well, I've sung in a couple of choirs....

  • I love this song very much....

  • this version caresses your soul. it makes you feel the genuine love one wants to make you feel loved

  • Andy, Frank, Englebert, Tony, Perry, not many others. A very small, and very elite, club, to be sure.

  • @cosg9531 Please, let's not forget Nat Cole in this group of classic makers, with which i agree.

  • By looking at andy's face, you know he's a gentle person and the same goes with his songs.

  • My parents music .They played his music all the time and watch everyone of his specials. I grew to love it.

  • the world would be a sadder place without Andys wonderful voice.what a legacy he will leave one day.todays music cant compete with this

  • Sweet voice ! Thanks for this upload ! Regards, Cathy. :))

  • I wish I could go to the local music store and purchase this voice. This would be one purchase I would never return.

  • @Squirrlyburt You mean to tell me your local music store doesn't have this in stock? I'm sure some store must have it, at least in their used section. Phooey on internet downloads. It's better to buy the record if possible.

  • very romantic. They don,t make crooners the way they used to!

  • Why do you put an exclamation point after "Comment pending approval"? Rather unneccesary, isn't it?

  • I want this exact rendition played at my wedding!

  • He had a powerful voice but he knew how to control it. The intimacy in his rendition of this song is just gorgeous.

  • 2.48 Love him. i'm 19. Click on his version of danny boy, it's fantastic!

  • 16 people were drunk. They intended to click the 'like'button, yet they clicked the dislike button.

  • I have just fallen in love with him , I am from the Osmond days i loved Donny. but i never knew of Andy never saw A show . but this man has the best voice ever

  • Well, I am 52 now, and I cannot say I have EVER found a voice that is smoother, stronger, and more beautiful than Andy Williams. Oh, sure, there are a lot of great voices from the 70's and 80's for me, but Andy (followed by Frank) is still the greatest. One day I will see him in concert still, I hope.

  • All arguments and flaming aside, this man had the best voice in the history of mankind. Whatever he sang - Christmas songs, ballads or otherwise - always PERFECT. Andy Williams is the best singing voice that the WORLD has ever seen - at the very least, for a male voice. It's purely humbling.

  • ....something fascinating about Andy....when he pushes a little to the higher and louder notes, there seems to be some reverb-effect on his voice. It's like a gate to a church suddenly opening. Not just in this recording, I noticed this with other songs as well.

Does anyone know what happens? Some technician turning an effect on his mike, or a unique feature of his voice?

  • BROOKE4TX-LOVES ANDY WILLIAMS AND HE IS THE #1 GREATEST GENTLEMAN AND #1 SINGER IN MY LIFE.....he stole my heart at 10 yrs old ..I am now 53 yrs and I will never give my heart to no one else...My heart and soul belongs to ANDY WLLIAMS -Today -yesterday -tomarrow -forever--My dream lover..ANDY...

  • love his warm voice...thanks for posting!

  • Andy Williams truly is the Emperor of Lounge. One of the all-time greats for sure!

  • OH HELEN SCHLOSSER --HAS ONLY ONE HEART-ONE SOUL--THEY BELONG TO MY TRUE LOVE ANDY--YESTERDAY-TODAY-FOREVER-POP & MOM-WATCHED ED SULLIVAN WITH ME-- ANDY I AM 53--I LOVED YOU SINCE 13 YRS OLD

  • I AM 53 YRS OLD==ANDY IS MY ONLY TRUE LOVE--I MEAN IT==my soul cry's i love tyou-ANDY

  • I AM 53 YRS OLD==ANDY IS MY ONLY TRUE LOVE--I MEAN IT

  • He could take a city down to bed: couldn't he??

  • voice like melting chocolate,pure velvet :P

  • Back in those days the singer was always the focal point. You couldn't take your eyes off them. Today music is sold via clever marketing like trashy videos & cheap gimmicks. We're losing these great performers one by one :(

  • Where are the people who can sing like this. The folks who know how to caress a lyric. The people with perfect phrasing. The people that make you feel the emotion. He hit that note at about 2:49 live. No autotune, no studio production. Just pure talent. I think I took Andy for granted back in the day. After all I was just a kid, a little kid 5 when this was done. But I have a much greater appreciation for his talent, now.

  • In my opinion, since video took over in music, everything sounds like it was written for the video,; to me, it sounds like the 1980s, but with high definition. many young rocker types know that too.

  • OMG, I love the slow-smooth-softylicious way to sounds this version.

    Besos desde Mexico <33

  • Too slow.

  • bervet boice

  • Andy Williams is one of the most awesome voices ever-and a really nice person.

  • @neilnsue When is Andryth Williams due to be portained?

  • Ohhhhhhh how I love Andy Williams!!!! What a voice!!!

  • beautiful song...very soothing...

  • so smoothhhh and cool... love it... thanks for posting....WOW!!!!!!!

  • WOW

  • *shivers* breathtaking..thank you for sharing this...

  • What a gorgeous voice - wow!! Just so smooth and sooo much feeling.

  • smooth as silk, my wife and i saw him at the golden nugget in vagas 1974 or abouts. what a beautiful voice and a beautiful person

  • I was 13. I close my eyes and I'm in my living room with my Mom and Dad......moved by the beauty of Andy's talent.....all of us.....and life was good. I wish I could walk to the kitchen and dish up ice cream for everyone.....one more time.

  • @catndryer Good times for many .. memories of loved ones lost long time ago

  • Wow! I thought I loved Sinatra's version. This is awesome! His voice is amazing!

  • @tifflwal Sinatra was great.....but he was an untouchable star. Andy was family.

  • Oh wow, almost magical.

  • One of the best songs. So romantic and so high sung by Andy. Great!

    Alfred from the Netherlands

  • i love his voice...deep inside my heart

  • it's so impress.

  • Yes, That Natural Deep Wonderful Talent, ynjcondo.......

  • with this song i love more roxana armas! just imagining you and me , cheek to cheek, dancing smoothly! amazing!

  • He has an awesome tenor voice, and even though it is a slow version, no one can deny the control that man has in his voice. It is also a very interesting arrangment with a notable key change, for those of you that like a fast version, go listen to Charlie Parker.....he plays it be bop style....

  • amazing voice . tear in my eye

  • I´m speechless...tears come out to my eyes...

very nice!!. Thanks burtmurdoch to sharing this!!

  • just too damn slow

  • go listen to hardstyle house music :), maybe it's fast enough for you

  • Lovely! Does anyone know if Andy performs this at the dinner show in Branson?

  • simply wonderful,,

  • BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES

  • I have just fallen deeply in love...and found this! How wonderfully Andy sings...the spaces he leaves...and those eyes! MAGIC!!

  • WHOA! What can I say, this guy gives me goosebumps!

I honestly wish that my generation knew what real music was; stuff that touches your soul... dynamics that make you cry in the smooth & soft, and makes your heart miss a beat in the loud.

Ahhh... I really was born in the wrong era; no-one cares about the music anymore, only the technology behind it. Sad...

  • AUGH! I meant to give a thumbs up to your comment, it is SO TRUE, but I hit the wrong icon! Wish I could undo!!!!!

  • effortless vocals in the last minute. no lipsyncing here. just great singing.

  • yes, this song just brings back the calmness of a good life lived. mom is cooking dinner, everyone is content....the family was important and everyone was together. don't ever delete this video please!!! one of my favorites on youtube. thanks for posting.

  • Hs voice is remarkable and ever so smooth. He is a one man instrument of genius. He is so smooth. He does romance more beautiful than anyone I have ever known. I adore this man.

  • @EONTE77 Another most beautiful words

  • @ grnteabug: On a You tube video Elvis has a similar blue aura. Maybe it's reserved for the GREATS?!!

  • Knowing what I know now if I lived in the 60's I'd go and see all the "GREATS". It seems there was a great flowering of talented singers "out there" at that time. Being the age I am I only remember Andy Williams from the late 70's and 80's. I think he did have a second show at that time. I remember even as a child saying to myself: "Wow can he sing ever!!" I was mesmerized by it. And he also seemed like a genuinely nice guy. Another plus and lots of class too.

  • Andy Williams is one of the great balladeers of all time and this song fits perfectly into his range. Thanks for posting!

  • aw i cant get over how adorable he is! and so sweet! what happened to guys like this? i hate growing up in this current age. i really got jipped.

  • His Sweet Memories will bring you to tears.

  • My 10 yr old Daughter says he's the King of Christmas. We saw him 11/30 in Branson, what a great evening !

  • Its not ONE of my favorites...ITS MY FAVORITE :D..

    122448

  • This is a real "singer's" song.

  • look at his left shoulder! even his aura is blue and sexy! <3 andy (im a guy) im straight but im still in love with him.

  • Not a singer has ever lived who can wrap himself around a song the way Andy Williams can...Michael Jackson was the King of Pop, but Andy Williams is the King of Smooth

  • A Great song and a brilliant singer Andy is love Shirls xx

  • DAMN HOT!!!

  • I agree, best song ever!

  • Best song ever :D

  • lovely voice, timeless music, they don't make 'em like that anymore

  • im 13 and i love this song but i grew up with this kind of music becuz my mom and stepdad both teach ballroom and alot of this music is wut they play

  • Andy Williams is still alive.

  • to asifyoucare, i think you just simply have a fine taste in music and of artists

  • aww :)) thank you.

  • i love andy williams :)) i don't understand why since i'm only 17. teenagers my age love miley cyrus, katy perry, boys like girls. well, they should hear him sing, and also sinatra. they sound like angels :D

  • It is because the guy had talent. Instead of the trashy music-vidoes that are popular today, singers primary function was, long ago, to entertain with the voice. It has been a long time since talent mattered in the entertainment industry. Worse, that attitude spills into the rest of our lives.

  • @ynjcondo you hit it right on the dot!!! I agree so much I could cry over Andy's beautiful voice whenever he sings any tune.

  • You can spot good quality.

  • Same here! Im 17 and there's no music I would rather listen to than Frank Sinatra or Andy Williams!

  • Hang on to that thought !

  • @asifyouevencare The answer is simple..........You have good taste.

  • @asifyouevencare met Him, He is such a humble accommodating man!

  • @asifyouevencare True. Most kids your age suck. Not you of course.

  • @asifyouevencare ... OK, so now you're 18. Still love Andy Williams? I'm almost 49 (March 2011) and grew up hearing him, Johhny Mathis, Dusty Springfield, Bing Crosby, Tony Bennett (who STILL tears it up), Perry Como, Wayne Newton, Tom Jones, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Julie Andrews, Dionne Warwick... all these people sang live, with an orchestra or band, and that's about all they did. If they had a special show, then you'd get a comedy skit or a dance number. Simpler time, I guess.

  • @asifyouevencare The answer is simple: you have a hearing and a good taste in music

  • @asifyouevencare I think a teenager who likes Andy Williams is fantastic. I have liked him since I was a teenager in the sixties. You must be a bunch of smart kids. I'm including the following posters too.

  • @asifyouevencare your not 17 I know you, you are are 64 and you're grandkids just taught you how to use the computer.....ROFL!!!

  • @formaandpa LMFAO tell that grampa how it is~!

  • pakulyang ako :)

  • Sinatra's version is always the best

  • This is one of my favourite song..Funny,my father introduced me to Andy Williams when he bought a tape(yes, tape!) of his album. And I fell in love to these lovely evergreen artists ie Sinatra,Darin..

  • Some day, when I'm awfully low,

    When the world is cold,

I will feel a glow just thinking of you...

And the way you look tonight.

  • Yes you're lovely, with your smile so warm

    And your cheeks so soft,

There is nothing for me but to love you,

And the way you look tonight.

With each word your tenderness grows,

    Tearing my fear apart...

And that laugh that wrinkles your nose,

    It touches my foolish heart.

  • so very romantic...!!!

  • They don't make them like this anymore! Andy was a class act...period!

  • Is it that no one sings like this today? or is it just not appealing today...too the younger listeners?

  • I think its just that the human race has simply devolved significantly from a couple of generations ago. Younger folks today would rather listen to Paris Hilton's dumbass remarks.

  • Though not all younger folk do. There is a vast universe of music out here, and if kids are brought up with certain freedoms and rituals, things develope differently for them.

  • There are plenty of 'younger folks' who would rather listen to Andy Williams than Paris Hilton any day. And I'm sure there are older people out there who don't like Andy Williams at all, and love Paris. Everyone likes different types of music, and to assume that the human race has devolved is pretty narrow and generalised.

  • damron13.............yes, well said, I agree with you 100%

  • I would pay boco money just to see you in concert again !

  • what wonderful memories..i grew up listening to Andy Williams..this is one of my all time favorites..thank you burtmurdoch for posting.

  • Wow!!! =O

  • Haha, muy muy bueno, esta versión es más romantica que la de Frank

  • OMG I cant stop listening to this! It is the most moving vocal performance I have ever heard. Andy, you are a national treasure.

  • I love your comments. Thank you and God bless you Vincenzo916... =))

  • and thank you SO much for sharing this. I have played this over 100 times -- I truly cannot get enough of it. Its simply beautiful. It brings tears to my eyes. :)

  • When he went up an octave at the end it sent a chill down my spine. Once in a lifetime performance indeed.

  • I agree with you when he went that octave it took my breath away. i was mesmerized and awed all in one. I love this classy once in a lifetime man. He will never be matched in this lifetime.

  • How can you not love Andy Williams?

  • breathless, I love you darling

  • <3 u too sweetheart... =))

  • Have always loved Mr. Williams. My mom is a big fan...

Beautiful indeed. Love his manly handsome voice and phrasing. Thanks, burtmurdoch!!

My favorite versions were done by Olivia Newton-John and Mary Cleere Haran.

  • I love this song, it is how i feel about my ex and someday i will sing it to her at our wedding cuz i love her so much.

  • Thanks to modern technology, we can enjoy beautiful renditions such as this for generations to come. A perfect match: Andy William's magnificent voice & one of the most romantic songs every written. Many thanks for posting!

  • Andy is one of the all-time greats, that's for sure!

  • i think that the lyrics is so romanitc... i such a chick

  • amazing voice! he's playing wt the melody...just beautiful..

  • my best friend's wedding! thanks ,remenber us this classical theme

  • this is the voice of a great singer that we can only get from the old days

  • i love this song and im only 13 ♥

  • why do people like this? I'm not saying oh this sucks, matter of opinion aye? I'm just wondering what people like in this style of music and such. I personally don't like it, and I just never understood why it was so great...

  • well CatFlash, I suspect your pretty young yet and not 56 like I am. you see, age might have something to do about your taste in all kinds/flavors of music young and old. but thats okay, we all have our own opinions and I honor that. this is why we were put on this earth as all of us are different with many music tastes, thats what makes the world we are in keep turning generation upon geneation. andy

williams is and only is one of a kind artist that comes along every now and than. take care

  • I like you. a lot of people look down on me because I'm young and you don't. and that completely makes sense even though I more wanted to get a reply like "because it's so soft and he felt what he sang..." or something... nonetheless I agree with you and I do like a variety of stuff. I think the only thing we might agree on is Neil Diamond though. even then I'm not a huge fan. what about Bob Dylan? I love his windy style :). hey one more thing... did you go to Woodstock?

  • I hated Andy Williams when I was just a young lad. But today being nearly as old as pkappe1006 it doesn't get much better than the sound of Andy performing this classic song. You may feel differently in about 15 years or less. Music is about to take a turn for the worse along with the rest of the world's situation. You will then long for the peaceful sounds of music like this when the peace in all aspects of life as we know it now will be just a faint memory.

  • ClintonCountry, you must be a big clinton fan!! Anyway, yes, our world is not the same as it was back in the 60's but as suggested, keep on listening to Andy's voice and you will have a good day just by listening to ALL his tunes. Believe me, it will bring out the best in all the folks who listen to music since music is universal and really we all can benefit from these classic tunes of the past and even some tunes of the present...................Take care partner....and burt....thanks for post

  • Hey, CatFlash,

The melody of this song is very lovely, and the very, very romantic lyrics appeal to a lot of people. They appealed to me when I first heard the song when I was about 13 or 14--and they still appeal to me now that I'm 51. Andy Williams sings it respectfully, allowing the listeners to enjoy the lyrics and the melody. Even though he plays with the melody, he never departs terribly far from it. And he is respectful of his audience: his sound is very welcoming.

  • thanks Zarcoon. I watch this now and it makes me happy because even though I'll probably never appreciate it the way you do, I can just see how he loves music and tries to put 100% of his personality into it and that is pure, and I also see reflected all the millions of people back in the day who were absolutely wowed by him. I see a legend. Have you heard of Adam Lambert? He is no where near the same style as Andy Williams. different times. But he sings purely and feels it too and that is real.

  • catflas,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,anerican idol/Adam, yes he does, with his heart

  • I couldn't have said it better. What about the Beatles? you like them at all?

  • yes, I'm 56..and grew up in the 60's. when I was 14 in 1966 they came to Minneapolis Minnesota and played outdoors at the old met stadium...........that even could have been the summer of 1965, one of the two, anyway I have all their 45's and albums from back than........

  • well i like it

  • CatFlashBlue I can only tell you that I was about 10 years old and fell madly in love with this singer. I have always had an ear for lovely ballads and such. I am 55 now and I still adore him and always will. He can take a song and turn the lyrics into gold dust. He's mystical and ever so smooth and clear with a romantic surrounding. I just love his style.

  • velvet voice

  • Andy's OK but The Lettermen's version

is untouchable. Thanks for putting Andy's

    version, though!

  • Unbelievable that he can sound this good in a live performance.
