Certainly Hitler just killed 40 million people then shot himself and turned into dirt. And I'm certain there is no afterlife so that you can relax and just do whatever you like! These near-death accounts of hell agree because of coincidence! There can't be a hell because you've never been there to verify it! So you're safe! (Insert evil laughter here!)

But what if you're wrong? What if you really need to honor Allah instead of Jehova? Then you just go to their hell instead, and you've just wasted your entire life following the wrong religion. =P

@kyrakyramyra This is THE big decision, and it applies just as much to the atheist or agnostic. If we pick the wrong worldview or the wrong god, our lives are a wasted lie and the consequences could be staggering. The reason I put my confidence in the God of the Bible is the fulfilled prophecies. I believe that exact events predicted millennia in advance were deliberately put there to verify divine origin. All of us should spend time to study the big questions: and we may not *like* the answers.

Yes, that is one of my big drumbeats: that all of us need to seek objective reality - whatever it be - without regard to whether we ourselves like it, or want it, or currently believe it. If we mess up on this one thing, we could potentially pay for it for all eternity.

And I can definitely guarantee this: the universe does not revolve around ourselves. Yet most continue to believe it does.

The subject of hell lies at the very edge of our perception, and science can't get to it at all. Still, there are so many many anecdotal accounts occurring just at the moment of death, in addition to a few very detailed accounts from near death experiences. The biblical account matches these descriptions. I even have a friend whose cousin's father-in-law asked for his relatives to put out a "fire" in his hospital room that he saw the very moment he died! I believe hell is real; can't prove it!

well the bible also says to forgive people for their sins so does that mean God is not practicing what he preached

@arshisbalsara2 There is a difference between forgiveness and justice. God offers forgiveness through the actions of Jesus, but is bound by justice in the same way that a criminals father could not release him despite being the judge at the trial. He may love his son, but he is constrained by justice. Observations like this always look very different from the perspective of God. (Now you may scream)

There cannot be any near death experiences about people going to hell, because nobody goes to "hell" until after Judgement Day takes place. They may have seen visions of "hell", but there's no way they could have went there. And I use " around the word, because in the Bible, the original translation of "hell" is "the grave". LIke in Revalation where is talks about Hell and the sea giving up their dead. That means the grave and the sea. Not saying that there isn't a place of punishment, though.

@saiyanblade84 OK, vision of hell. I'll go for that one. There are five words for "hell" in the Bible, plus "outer darkness". Only Sheol means 'grave".

@MrWankata This comment is a universal negative. By definition, unless you happen to be God, it is impossible to make this statement. Therefore, what you mean is, you HOPE there isn't any hell ! And therefore, you HOPE there is no justice after death. That is, you are hoping there is no authority in the universe so that you can continue to do just what you want with no consequences. Too bad you can't be certain, otherwise you wouldn't post the comment. With that in mind OK, back to "Slayer"
