Dirty racial undertones in the ad with the half naked white lady but lets be honest we all know Harold Ford Jr had a slim chance to win a senate seat State wide in TENNESSEE lol!
I had a long hard think about this and came to the conclusion that Canada COULD take on the DPRK. Face it, if North Korea became hostile to Canada, they would have significant trouble from , i don't know lets say, THE REST OF THE FUCKING WORLD if they tried to attack good old Canada.
I know that this advert is sarcastic, but i have no idea about this election, so is that man suggesting that electing Mr Corker will help "take on" North Korea?
its not suppose to be racist it was used for race-baiting. They wanted old white dudes in Tennessee to get all upset about the whole white girl thing and not vote for him
I really think thats looking way too deep into it, and that's just people proving they themselves are racist by inventing racism where it doesn't exist.
"The Democratic party is responsible for the reinvestment act, which caused the economy to spiral out of control, all while Republicans take the blame."
Yes, because Bush is a democrat. Everyone who isn't a retarded redneck with his head up his goats ass knows the economy crash when republicans were in power.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
It doesn't matter who was in power- the community reinvestment act is what caused the recession. Guess whom that was backed by? Bill Clinton.
If you were actually smart and did your research, you would know that Bush TRIED to put regulations on the banks but idiots like Barney Frank and Chris Dodd prevented that and blocked all investigations on the banks (Freddie and Fannie).
idk where u are getting your "facts," but I am going to guess its Fox news. Republicans are responsible for it and they and trying to push all the blame onto democrats and then slither away like the serpent they are.
Sadly, you are kind of right. Bush was more liberal than he should have been. Regardless, Bush and Obama are doing very similar shit like welcoming illegal immigrants, jacking taxes, continuing the war, starting new stupid programs. Democrats, Republicans, they are almost all liars (at least the politicians).
The background to all of this is that the Ford family are about as sleazy as they get. This is to be taken for granted by the viewers of the ad in Tennessee. Instead of being all upset about this very poor ad, people should be upset that so many Blacks are blocked from voting in Tenn.
Yep. This ad is not racist. It is only racist to African-Americans who think it is racist, while whites, hispanics, and asians wouldn't think twice about it, except for the fact that he was at a 'playboy party'.
this was yanked because it was considered to be insulting to Canada. Canadian politicians can be oversensitive at times I guess - I'm Canadian and I didn't think it was a big deal at all.
BTW Canada is helping the US in Afganastan so we ARE busy. Just so everyone knows that...
this is a funny commercial! props to the RNC for an entertaining political ad. i think some people a just ticked that its funny and true, hence the whining of "racism"
Wait a second, why is it bad that Harold Ford met some girls at some Playboy Party? If I were running for office and someone put that ad up against me, I'd say "I did not meet that squeaky voiced bimbo at the playboy party. The girls I met there were much smarter and sexier than her."
Frankly i think this is racisit, nafarious and discusting in every way! is this trying to make people hate ford because he is black or Republicans trying to get America to hate democrats for being democrats!! im pissed!
It may be racist but its true. He did marry a blonde white girl. I'm black athat throws me off. I guess it stll plays intothe same fear but the thing is he can't complain because its true
I don't know if it's racist, but it definitely is a typical bullshit republican hitpiece. The Grand Oil Party will stop at nothing, that's why they must be crushed this November.
@partypatches Nice condescending, and perhaps even racist, reply. I still think that being against a black man politically does not mean you're a racist.
But the ad itself wasn't political. It wasn't like Corker was saying "Ford's policies will hurt the country." How many accurate portrayals of his policies were in this commercial?
The racist part is in two places: #1: the black woman voting for him because he's handsome (suggesting black women only vote for a candidate based on looks), #2: the white woman from the Playboy party (the whole interracial relationships problem that only stupid people have)
He'd made a hell of a better senator than the joke ass we got now in Bob Corker.... he's a dumbass Chatanooga crook!!! He even voted against the 2008 economic stimulus tax rebate because more of it didn't go to oil and drug companies.
Canadian Forces are dying in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban (suffering the second highest casualties after the US). This ad is disgusting. After watcing this insult, Canadians should just get out of Afghanistan all together and let the Americans deal with Al Quaeda...
Don't mind the South. They are dumbasses. I love Canada. It is a model state for everything except health care. France is the model for that. I thought the ad was funny none the less.
Ok u r truly the biggest idiot and it is so selfish of you to say the Americans should fight Al Qaeda alone. Canadians must be just like the French......Cowards!
But that's exactly the attitude that this ad is giving its American viewers (that America is alone because "Canada can help with North Korea, they're not busy". It's insulting for Americans to be told this (even if it was a joke - many Americans would obviously think we're not doing anything about the war). So if we're not even given credit for our dying soldiers, what are they fighting for?
Thank God the great people of Tennessee had the great sense not to elect this negro. He needs to stay away from white women because inter-racial dating and marraige is a sin. At least Obama has the decency to stick to his own kind. It's great that the people of American have the sense not to elect Obama because of his race and that the people in Tennessee said no to Ford because he's black. white people made by god? SO jesus was white? i think he was from the middle east with tan skin. but you think he's white, a US citizen, drinks beer on sunday and dates hookers.
Imus slammed this ad, and had Ford on almost weekly, almost single handedly promting him. Yet when Imus called Ford after his statement about the Rutger's team, Ford did not return his calls.
Okay, sure this ad is sort of a dickish attack and doesn't actually talk about ISSUES. but then, what political ad does? But why is it RACIST? that's all I keep hearing. How is it racist? Am I missing something?
its a little off but the innuendos about white women and black men come into play w/ the playboy chick, and the note at the end "hes just not right" is directly yet subliminally referring to his race
The people complaining about this ad are just upset that a) it was good, b) it was funny, and c) it worked. It's about time somebody injected a little humor into political ads that otherwise project negativity.
American Politics can be extremely personal and cruel. Harold Jr. was not really a bad representative but his relatives are kind of like organized criminals of politics in the Memphis TN area. People finally got tired of the Ford Corruption.
This video ranks right up there with the "Daisy Girl" in 1964 and "Willie Horton" in 1988 as one of the most vicious and slanderous attack ads of all time!
I was actually supposed to be a mime in this commercial. I ended up on the cutting room floor. don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. All the actors were through my agent though. All good people.
This is by far the most "memorable" political ad of 2006. It revealed the "true colors" of the RNC's campaigning in a "red" southern state like TN because such an ad wouldn't have been effective in "blue" northeastern states like MD or NY. What's sad is that many people in the "red" states claim to be Christians and they embrace "family values". However, they weren't outraged by this RNC ad. Harold Ford was right! This ad was "sleezy".
Harold Ford lost because he comes from a family of Criminals and poverty pimps. Even memphis voters had had enough. Quite a shame because he was not a bad representative.
Have y'all heard what the name of the blonde broad is. Its Johanna Goldsmith and shes an uber hottie, whats even better is that shes from Texas mane! On Special Report with Brit Hume, its reported she claims shes mexican which boggles me since she passes off for white-meat really well, but then again so do many hispanics.
What a bimbo? Whats the matter with you, shes just an actress and shes super hot...shame on you...Watch what you say about my fellow texan, I don't care if shes from austin
Even though I thought the ad sucked and contributed to his election demise, I tried to google her up to find out her name, but found nothing. If anyone can, that would be amazing.
As a freshman Senator in the minority party, Corker will be perhaps the least signifcant person in Washington. Conversely, Ford Jr. could have delivered real clout to TN. You people are getting what you deserve for falling for this racist ploy.
Anyone who found any racism in this ad is has to be themselves a racist - or overwhelmingly stupid. One or the other. Your whining over this ad contributed to Ford's loss. People weren't as stupid as you thought they were.
that is horrible. Ford jr. has a very bright future. Do not give up hope. ....Obama--- Ford jr. ticket in 08? It probably wouldnt win but two respectable politicians
It's ironic that in one ad he is in church. Another ad has him talking extensively about God and his faith. Then it comes out that he attended parties with playmates. Typical liberal, he must have gone to the Ted Kennedy school of politics.
no, they're not OBSESSED with race. But to be relatively conscious in America, you know that race is always an issue. I'm an African-American woman and I'm reminded of it everyday. I'M not obsessed with race, the people making ads and making laws and telling me I'm a "pretty BLACK girl" or I'm a "smart BLACK woman" are obsessed with race. And from what you've posted here, you seem frighteningly ignorant, mildly idiotic, so I'm sure you've uttered such phrases.
no i definitely don't say phrases like that cause i'm not racist. obviously someone who would say something racist WOULD be obsessed with race, but my point is that it should also be recognized as racism when people think that race is "always an issue." the use of race card an offensive abuse of a serious subject. it's absurd to assume someone is racist when they try to draw the line and say that sometimes race is irrelevant to an issue.
I don't see anything racist about doncirelli's post. He's saying that in case black people forget, the Republican party is not for us, and this ad is proof.
No more than Democrats. Here in Alabama, her whole ad was "I'm Sue Bell Cobb and I'm the only candidate who plays piano in curch." It's both political parties.
No, it's not just you. Just when you thought they could never be more manipulative and idiotic, they prove us wrong. Never cease to amaze me with their lack of integrity
Well for those of older age, in the ol south, a white woman asking a black to call her would not have been proper. Things have change. but it plays to the older crowd. It takes several genrations to evoke civil chaneg and acceptance in new mores. It is all subtle, and not apparent to the youth of today.
Let's be honest. In the "ol South," any woman naked and asking any man, regardless of race, to call her, would be seen as very improper. The idea of the playboy mansion itself would be considered improper. Even if Ford wasn't black, this ad would have turned the "old folks" from the South against him.
It appeals to racist voters. Ending the commercial with that whole "Harold, call me" bit is a little message to people who don't think white women should be with black men. It is desperate. Not only is it wrong, but how is it even relevant?
I'm sorry, I find it somewhat clever because it's just so foul and dirty for a political campaign, haha. In other words, it definitely has its novelty factor as a campaign ad, but that's about it.
No more than Democrats. Here in Alabama, her whole ad was "I'm Sue Bell Cobb and I'm the only candidate who plays piano in curch." It's both political parties.
I'm confused? So conservatives hate gay people but they also hate people who want to party at the playboy mansion? (i.e. every heterosexual man on the planet)
Yeah, of all the messages it gives, the one thing it wants to focus on is the fact that the playgirl is white. THAT'S what this whole ad is about. *Eyeroll.* I've heard the stories, and it's a load of bull. No matter what they did -- make the girl black, white, spanish, green -- someone would have found a reason to make it racist.
So it was racist by using snide quotes from people of a different race? Wouldn't that make the viewer who thought it was racist therefore racist, rather than the producer?
How is Mr. Corker "old money" as you say when all he had was $8,000 to start his company, his family, and his life. That's what most of us call a "work ethic".
I don't really see the race issue here. Regardless, I do believe that this ad is ridiculous, especially with the whole Playboy thing. Harold was invited to a Super Bowl party AT the Playboy Mansion. No acts of nudity or sex were held.
Even if there had been acts of sex, why not at least get a girl for the ad that looks like a Playboy Bunny? That girl looks like she could be one of my friends' mothers...
Are you serious? The problem here is that many Tennesseeans that DO have problems with interracial dating (and I know many) will see this ad and sneer in disgust.
Tell me. The same ad if Ford was white. Would people be bothered by it still? The answer it probably yes, since let's be blunt -- it's a naked playboy bunny trying to get some from a politician. Race aside.
Dirty racial undertones in the ad with the half naked white lady but lets be honest we all know Harold Ford Jr had a slim chance to win a senate seat State wide in TENNESSEE lol!

Have y'all heard what the name of the blonde broad is. Its Johanna Goldsmith and shes an uber hottie, whats even better is that shes from Texas mane! On Special Report with Brit Hume, its reported she claims shes mexican which boggles me since she passes off for white-meat really well, but then again so do many hispanics.
bomb0s 5 years ago
Thanks for her name! What a bimbo! She should be ashamed of herself! I have a good name for her!!
Oliviasgg 5 years ago
What a bimbo? Whats the matter with you, shes just an actress and shes super hot...shame on you...Watch what you say about my fellow texan, I don't care if shes from austin
bomb0s 5 years ago
nevermind, I found her name, Johanna Goldsmith.
shaunnol 5 years ago
Even though I thought the ad sucked and contributed to his election demise, I tried to google her up to find out her name, but found nothing. If anyone can, that would be amazing.
shaunnol 5 years ago
As a freshman Senator in the minority party, Corker will be perhaps the least signifcant person in Washington. Conversely, Ford Jr. could have delivered real clout to TN. You people are getting what you deserve for falling for this racist ploy.
snealfleeba 5 years ago
Anyone who found any racism in this ad is has to be themselves a racist - or overwhelmingly stupid. One or the other. Your whining over this ad contributed to Ford's loss. People weren't as stupid as you thought they were.
ReuWil 5 years ago
Exactly right. As the newest member of the minority party, Corker will be the most un-powerful Senator in the next session of Congress.

Racist pigs run the RNC so they can't help it when things like this pop up.

Dude seriously you need a big cup of shut the fuck up.
You are the most stupid idiot out there.
Since you have no clue what the fuck the word racist is.
I mean for fucks shake man, hating the GOP does not make you a racist. So piss off you fucking cunt.

It's ironic that in one ad he is in church. Another ad has him talking extensively about God and his faith. Then it comes out that he attended parties with playmates. Typical liberal, he must have gone to the Ted Kennedy school of politics.
marcelklee 5 years ago
Why is it such a sin to go to a party? Do you bother to think for yourself? If you did, you'd realize there's nothing wrong there.

Comb you ignorant person.
jimmod 5 years ago
I'm not ignorant, I just typed the wrong word, ass.
Kiri009 5 years ago
no, they're not OBSESSED with race.
Kiri009 5 years ago
no i definitely don't say phrases like that cause i'm not racist. obviously someone who would say something racist WOULD be obsessed with race, but my point is that it should also be recognized as racism when people think that race is "always an issue." the use of race card an offensive abuse of a serious subject. it's absurd to assume someone is racist when they try to draw the line and say that sometimes race is irrelevant to an issue.
educationalvideos 5 years ago
I don't see anything racist about doncirelli's post. He's saying that in case black people forget, the Republican party is not for us, and this ad is proof.
Kiri009 5 years ago
Is it me or are Republicans getting more retarded and pathetic by the day? lol
gavingoo 5 years ago
No more than Democrats. Here in Alabama, her whole ad was "I'm Sue Bell Cobb and I'm the only candidate who plays piano in curch." It's both political parties.
BessieTheCow 5 years ago
No, it's not just you. Just when you thought they could never be more manipulative and idiotic, they prove us wrong. Never cease to amaze me with their lack of integrity
Kiri009 5 years ago
This makes no sense. Can someone translate this for me.
gavingoo 5 years ago
I was saying that it's not just you who thinks the Republicans are getting more retarded and their lack of integrity is amazing

It makes senese now, I have no idea why it didn't before. That is the last time I borrow Bush's concentration span.

Are you sure that the DNC wasn't responsible for this commercial? Using some reversed psychology here? It makes me want to vote Ford!

catzsuk 5 years ago
can anyone explain to me how this ad is racist? i'm missing something. either way it's savage, sad and desperate.
leelong6 5 years ago
Well for those of older age, in the ol south, a white woman asking a black to call her would not have been proper. Things have change. but it plays to the older crowd. It takes several genrations to evoke civil chaneg and acceptance in new mores. It is all subtle, and not apparent to the youth of today.
solorguy 5 years ago
Let's be honest. In the "ol South," any woman naked and asking any man, regardless of race, to call her, would be seen as very improper. The idea of the playboy mansion itself would be considered improper. Even if Ford wasn't black, this ad would have turned the "old folks" from the South against him.
BessieTheCow 5 years ago
It appeals to racist voters. Ending the commercial with that whole "Harold, call me" bit is a little message to people who don't think white women should be with black men. It is desperate. Not only is it wrong, but how is it even relevant?
jcg80 5 years ago
The sterotypical playboy bunny is white and blonde. True or false?
BessieTheCow 5 years ago
I'm sorry, I find it somewhat clever because it's just so foul and dirty for a political campaign, haha. In other words, it definitely has its novelty factor as a campaign ad, but that's about it.

Ummm I don't get it. Is this an actual ad or a joke?

Sadly, it was a real ad.

this is just ridiculous. they're using such faulty rhetoric to try to win.
but, no surprise that the republicans can't come up with one damn intelligent thing to say to try to win, just play dirty.
melewen 5 years ago
To repeat what I posted down below:
No more than Democrats. Here in Alabama, her whole ad was "I'm Sue Bell Cobb and I'm the only candidate who plays piano in curch." It's both political parties.
BessieTheCow 5 years ago
I'm confused? So conservatives hate gay people but they also hate people who want to party at the playboy mansion? (i.e. every heterosexual man on the planet)
Robertlc 5 years ago
Yes, race-baiting and fear-mongering are "fucking hilarious." How sad.
djendick 5 years ago
Yeah, of all the messages it gives, the one thing it wants to focus on is the fact that the playgirl is white. THAT'S what this whole ad is about. *Eyeroll.* I've heard the stories, and it's a load of bull. No matter what they did -- make the girl black, white, spanish, green -- someone would have found a reason to make it racist.
BessieTheCow 5 years ago
So it was racist by using snide quotes from people of a different race? Wouldn't that make the viewer who thought it was racist therefore racist, rather than the producer?
vanoakenfold 5 years ago
What a hilarious ad! That one has to hurt!

There's nothing wrong with dating white women.
Why are the Dems complaining about that?
VeryBoring 5 years ago
Because Dems are racist, discriminating against white women..
usarmycaptainamerica 5 years ago
Are you serious? The problem here is that many Tennesseeans that DO have problems with interracial dating (and I know many) will see this ad and sneer in disgust.
ademska 5 years ago
Tell me. The same ad if Ford was white. Would people be bothered by it still? The answer it probably yes, since let's be blunt -- it's a naked playboy bunny trying to get some from a politician. Race aside.
