Sorry. This car is completely English. Nothing on the market at any price approaches the beauty of this car, inside and out. (yes, the grill area is bulbous but all cars have to be that way now due to pedestrian safety laws in Europe.) Only the Italians can approach Jaguar for beauty and desirability, and this car is at least one, if not two generations ahead of the Quattroprte.

Love the new xj, in my opinion, the best looking jaguar out there, it's like a sporty spaceship and its pretty powerful and fast for a luxury saloon, i mean it'll never beat the s-class in terms of size and comfort but this definitely one of the best luxury saloons on the market, you really have to commend Callum and the rest of the jag design team, the new jaguars look freakin sweet!

In the area I live these cars have become so popular!!! Just 2 weeks ago I only saw one 2011 XJ, I was blown away, it was drop dead gorgeous. Now ive seen like 100, I feel like I see more XJ's then BMW 7 series. Two new 2011 Luxury sedans that have dominated the streets in my area are the 2011 Jaguar XJ and the 2011 Infiniti M37/M56, they are everywhere!! Its like walking into a candy store everytime I take a Drive.

What a luxurious & elegantly designed automobile! A mix of classical & futuristic design! Gotta have me one of these in the near future!

The front end of the car reminds me too much of a 2010 Nissan Maxima. The rest of the the vehicle is impeccable. Few design flaws but an overall 9.2 of 10.
The back of this XJ reminds me of a french car like a Citroen C6 or something, not a car I would consider very attractive! Also I doubt this car will be very reliable. Hate to be negative though: The XF at least is a beautiful car!
you said it right! as an owner of 2 jags, an xk convertible and an xj sedan, I am dissapointed on the worlds cars all looking like copies of one another. The benz' class looks like a honda accord, etc. The new jags, particularly the xf and xj are booooooring and conformist, time to go to a maserati or aston martin.
In fact I'm in the process of doing so. Well the design phase that is. Actually putting a unique spin on the shape and details I would prefer to see in cars.
I just don't have a lot of funding for the project, so it will take some time. :)

You are completely wrong. SD1 was extremely succesful considering all of the financial and labour problems that ravaged the UK before and during this time. It probably ensured the fact that it could swallow up all of the rest of the UKs motor industry and survive into the 21st century. This car is certainly individual, no germans can make a car this different. Jag is keeping itself outside of the ubiquious teutonic saloon.

Been a Jag fan for many many years. This new style is boring. The Benz CLS 63 knocks this new XJs socks off. With this new moderate and tepid body styling, the XJ simply gets run over by the Benz. While I'm sure that the drive and technology is top rate, the style is a step backwards. After owning XJ Vanden Plas' for the past 20 years, I'll be looking elsewhere for the next car: likely the CLS 63.
all cars have to succumb somewhat to computer-controlled aerodynamic minimal drag design but the product seems to look suspiciously Aston Martin-y (which I have no problem with). This car makes the current S type and 7 series look prehistoric. And the inside... similar looking materials to the DBS so I'm putting my money on one as soon as I can.
how old of an xj though? the 90's models i never liked, and i personally own an xj6c, the style of the series 3 xj6 should have been reworked and modernized, and could have been made into a very nice new look. while this dosent look that bad, i feel it looks too much like other cars, its better then the other cars, but it still looks too much like other companies cars...
I loved the classic shape of the old XJ. but when i saw thenew XJ in person last month i forgot all about the old one .I didnt like the rear end when i first but now i like it.
Gonna miss the classic shape of previous XJ's, but this looks damn good! The front end looks awesome, the gauges are very cool, and the interior is very nice. My only gripe is the rear end. That rear looks pretty ugly, actually. And what's with the black C-pillar? That looks awful!
I like the whole look.. I understand the front end . but they should of came up with a new grill for that model if not make a replacement grill that would work.. And lower the price to about 65k then we have buisness... But ill still get one and make how it supposed to be by GAS customs!!!

Beautiful car but the speedometer looks like it will wash out in light. I personally prefer the normal speedometers over the electrical ones.

why do you guys complain so much? this car is gorgeous. The back brings a total new look for 2010. If you look around, audi mercecdes and bmw sort of have similar looks between them. But this jag is special.
And who dares to complain about the front? The front is a killer, i think it truly has the boldness of a jag. Notice the pose at 1:02, it makes you feel you want this jag to go through things and demolish them like bulldozer
The interior design technology is a different story.

The Volvo S80 has one of the best exterior styles on the market, but yes this does look a lot less like a traditional Jaguar

You see, my mom had an xf supercharged. this xj and my moms xf are 2 different kinds of cars. My moms is more of a sport/luxury while this is more into luxury. i love the back though.

No, Ford did the layouts for the XF and new XJ. Tata has not owned Jaguar long enough to develop anything. To go from an American car company with great heritage to ... INDIAN ownership, what has the world come to.

Immagine how stunning it was back in the 70-ties when Rover lanced the SD1 3500 Van den Plas; this so called Jaguar of the 21st Century looks like the old Rover and that one was the beginning of the End of the Rover brand! After that no-face design it was possible to bring a Honda with the Rover-badge! Nobody cared about it! - This is the End of the Individuality of Jaguar! Next will be a Tata with the Jaguar-badge! Nobody will care about it!

You are completely wrong. SD1 was extremely succesful considering all of the financial and labour problems that ravaged the UK before and during this time. It probably ensured the fact that it could swallow up all of the rest of the UKs motor industry and survive into the 21st century. This car is certainly individual, no germans can make a car this different. Jag is keeping itself outside of the ubiquious teutonic saloon.

dont get me wrong here... i own a '00 VDP and i love the 99-09 styling the MOST.
but the new one isnt bad. it seems a lil bit german tho as far as a more austere cabin. : c (and the front is looks like the XF) but i do kinda like it. i just wish theyd change the rear...

The interior is amazing! I wish they would've stuck with the back of the C-XF though, however this back at first seems extremely ugly, it actually grows on you and I'm sure by the time I've seen it in the metal it'll look pretty good.

This thing is 'supposed' to compete with the S-class and the A8. The 7 series is just so ugly... it doesn't deserve to be mentioned. It BLOWS those away. Literally. 5.0 V8.. that interior, and those looks in black.

Been a Jag fan for many many years. This new style is boring. The Benz CLS 63 knocks this new XJs socks off. With this new moderate and tepid body styling, the XJ simply gets run over by the Benz. While I'm sure that the drive and technology is top rate, the style is a step backwards. After owning XJ Vanden Plas' for the past 20 years, I'll be looking elsewhere for the next car: likely the CLS 63.

all cars have to succumb somewhat to computer-controlled aerodynamic minimal drag design but the product seems to look suspiciously Aston Martin-y (which I have no problem with). This car makes the current S type and 7 series look prehistoric. And the inside... similar looking materials to the DBS so I'm putting my money on one as soon as I can.

You have to update things, ya know. You can't keep that same design.
I have an old XJ (08 model) on my drive now, and I would like to have one of these new ones over it but, the one outside is real nice.

how old of an xj though? the 90's models i never liked, and i personally own an xj6c, the style of the series 3 xj6 should have been reworked and modernized, and could have been made into a very nice new look. while this dosent look that bad, i feel it looks too much like other cars, its better then the other cars, but it still looks too much like other companies cars...

Gonna miss the classic shape of previous XJ's, but this looks damn good! The front end looks awesome, the gauges are very cool, and the interior is very nice. My only gripe is the rear end. That rear looks pretty ugly, actually. And what's with the black C-pillar? That looks awful!

I like the whole look.. I understand the front end . but they should of came up with a new grill for that model if not make a replacement grill that would work.. And lower the price to about 65k then we have buisness... But ill still get one and make how it supposed to be by GAS customs!!!
