Academics are more about exalting man and not God. They want to find anyway they can to explain away God, so they can live in their fantasy where man is God and God doesn't exist. Unfortunately for some it doesn't work that way.

Hebrews 6 - context is so important. The context of the passage is GROWTH as a believer. Therefore those that backslid into the world were truly saved, and after many times of the Holy Spirit working with the person to bring them back to repentance, there comes a point when the Holy Spirit will not strive with you any longer. I think such ones will still enter heaven, but how foolish, loosing so much of their rewards.
