and the fastest skis in the world are using GPR hulls. They drop Sea Doo engines into them b/c Yamaha doesn't make a 4 stroke with enough power. But the GPR hull is the best hull for going the fastest. That's why all the fastest skis are GP-RXP "hybrids". Me? I think it's more fun wrenching the old 2 strokes to go 75+...Four strokes seem kinda like cheating on a waverunner, guess I am old school. Well explosions seem like failure to me. The main problem was the air cooled engines in them would overheat b/c of lack of airflow in an enclosed space. The 69 water cooled engine was too little too late. And while sit downs did create the boom in PWC sales, I remember the days of my lake being filled with stand ups and those WetBikes (which really didn't count as sit downs b/c they were hard to ride and not really true couches)...
And if the early Sea Doo wasn't a failure then why was it scrapped? If it was a success Bombardier would have continued to make them. I'm no enemy of sit downs, I own a 2000 GP1200R and a 1994 WaveBlaster as well...I am just saying it takes skill to ride a stand up, that's all...I've been riding for 17 years and still take the occasional spill. I can't even ride mine full out b/c it gets so skittish above 50...I fell and about tore my rotator cuff at that speed...not fun
I got the 59MPH top speed on my knees, believe it or not...I shimmed my ride plate to keep the nose down so I can ride fast on my knees without it porpoising. That hull wasn't designed for speeds nearing 60 without sponsons or reworking the back part of the hull (the pro racers do that but I am content with flat out on my knees) I spend most of my time on the stand up doing freestyle stuff...subs, fountains, barrel rolls if I can get a big enough wake, etc...

Accelerometers measure gravitational pull or "G's" on all three planes, X, Y, and Z. An accelerometer wont measure the top speed of a jet ski. But will a GPS?...yes, yes it will.

@fruitpoops if you have the accelerometer programmed correctly you can have them measure speed. you just have to factor in time as a part of the equation. because 1g=9.8m/s^2 you can plug in however many seconds the acceleration run was for and at each point of measurement, convert the G forces into speed based on how long the G-force was held for.
at 1:08 when the jet ski leaves the shot and he pans around, look closely, you can see the image brighten, its digitally edited, plus why would he spin the opposite direction of where the ski was going?

Nice. I had my friends stock ski running 77mph on the best days, so I fully beleive that speed can be done plus some. 77mph was a scary rush I can only imagine 92mph.
To go that fast you would have to put a Riva Stage 3 kit on your ride OR R & D Racing makes parts as well. Its not a cheap upgrade. The ultimate goal would really be to be able reflash the ECU. If you are an idiot talking trash saying this cant be done...it can and if you know anything about Seadoos answer this question...why does RXP and the RXT in both the 215HP and the 255HP models go the same speed? Answer is rev limiter.
To all of you haters out there...this is very possible...in fact i am surprised that 92 is all he hit. Seadoo limits the RPMs on their machine. The trick it to trick the computer....or in most cases.

I would like to add for all you non-believers who know literally NOTHING about PWC performance, come on down to the RIVA Hydrodrags in Sebastian, Florida in April. The C-54 canal is where the races and top speed radar runs are held. 3 skis over 90 MPH this year on radar in minor chop. They are capable of more speed and there are more out there capable of even more. Watching a youtube video is probably the closest most of you idiots will ever get to a PWC.

YOur salesman probably isnt the best bet on who to listen to about pwc performance. Im sure he would tell you they are capable of space travel with minor computer tweaks if it would make the sale.
for seadoo and he says they obviously have plenty of horsepower just laying around so they will keep slapping more into these things, but they have had the same aggressive handling hull since 2000 starting with the RX-DI Millenium edition (great bike) but that old shaped hull cant really handle these new engine all as well as what seadoo is gonna bring out soon, so take my advise and wait a couple seasons before buyin that rxp-x and youll be suprised at the difference. trust me itll be well

It allready has a supercharger on it, but I would strongly recomend you upgrade the impeler in the supercharger and install a blow off valve for it. Turbos are nice they can make more power in the long run but they create a lot of heat in the engine compartment
its 155 hp, no supercharger, i know seadoos, just not where to get a supercharger or turbocharger where i live, im probably gonna get an rxp-x eventually anyways so it doesn't really matter
First off 91 km/h is about 55 mph and a stock RXP can top out at 70 mph ( I know i have an RXP and RXP X-package) and that RXP was not stock, secondly it says in the title mph.
you got an RXP, nice. ive been on one before and they're an animal! good handling, fast acceleration and very fast top end. i was on a 06 215hp model and in perfect conditions (glass water, no wind) i had it up to 70. but seadoo spedos aren't 100% accurate. i was probably doing around 68mph.

Accelerometers measure gravitational pull or "G's" on all three planes, X, Y, and Z. An accelerometer wont measure the top speed of a jet ski. But will a GPS?...yes, yes it will.

@fruitpoops if you have the accelerometer programmed correctly you can have them measure speed. you just have to factor in time as a part of the equation. because 1g=9.8m/s^2 you can plug in however many seconds the acceleration run was for and at each point of measurement, convert the G forces into speed based on how long the G-force was held for.

To go that fast you would have to put a Riva Stage 3 kit on your ride OR R & D Racing makes parts as well. Its not a cheap upgrade. The ultimate goal would really be to be able reflash the ECU. If you are an idiot talking trash saying this cant be done...it can and if you know anything about Seadoos answer this question...why does RXP and the RXT in both the 215HP and the 255HP models go the same speed? Answer is rev limiter.

You are the fool here. I would say that this speed is quite possible, considering the new RXP-X 255 weighs only 774lbs and has a 255 hp supercharged engine stock, if he were to modify something like that i don't see why he wouldn't be able to achieve something like that.

I would like to add for all you non-believers who know literally NOTHING about PWC performance, come on down to the RIVA Hydrodrags in Sebastian, Florida in April. The C-54 canal is where the races and top speed radar runs are held. 3 skis over 90 MPH this year on radar in minor chop. They are capable of more speed and there are more out there capable of even more. Watching a youtube video is probably the closest most of you idiots will ever get to a PWC.

for seadoo and he says they obviously have plenty of horsepower just laying around so they will keep slapping more into these things, but they have had the same aggressive handling hull since 2000 starting with the RX-DI Millenium edition (great bike) but that old shaped hull cant really handle these new engine all as well as what seadoo is gonna bring out soon, so take my advise and wait a couple seasons before buyin that rxp-x and youll be suprised at the difference. trust me itll be well

It allready has a supercharger on it, but I would strongly recomend you upgrade the impeler in the supercharger and install a blow off valve for it. Turbos are nice they can make more power in the long run but they create a lot of heat in the engine compartment

First off 91 km/h is about 55 mph and a stock RXP can top out at 70 mph ( I know i have an RXP and RXP X-package) and that RXP was not stock, secondly it says in the title mph.

you got an RXP, nice. ive been on one before and they're an animal! good handling, fast acceleration and very fast top end. i was on a 06 215hp model and in perfect conditions (glass water, no wind) i had it up to 70. but seadoo spedos aren't 100% accurate. i was probably doing around 68mph.

I have no doubt as to the possibility of 104mph. POSSIBILITY. However, your claim of 0-90mph in 4.6sec then you say 0-80 in 3.0sec.???It only takes you 1.6 seconds to gain 10mph on water. You are saying that your jet ski on water(the most friction produced on a motorized vehicle)can out accelerate a Lambo on tires with no friction. Figuring out the original posters speed was a little tricky. I calculated feet per/sec using the length of the ski as my known. Yours was alot easier.

nope sorry,sea-doo motors are great but yamaha hulls are much more efficient...put jd1's motor with a rxp bottom deck and it wouldnt be that fast... the yamaha hull is the big difference here.... why do you think theres tons of gprxp conversions... i dont see anyone converting stuff to fit in an rxp..everyone converts motors into a gpr, because the hull is so much better..
