  • meh, the first game was more realistic

  • You have to be the nicest sounding reviewer I have ever watched :)

  • Thank's good rewiew!

  • This game Is hard when Ur new. Enough to turn you away if you don't cope fast

  • Is this game's atmosphere as intense as Battlefield 3? I need an idea on how this game feels. I may buy it.

  • @HeyItzScotch It's more intense ;D

  • Comment removed

  • does alot of people play this game?

  • Awesome review. I have to pick this one up asap

  • @tremblez1 Awesome!

  • Petty but ill give it a shot. If anyone wants to buy me RO2, and get a gaming buddy gimme a shout. I not trying to exploit, but as im reading this it sure looks like XD. I sound like a 13 year old kid... Im 17 and 1 year away from a credit card and Steam purchasing... But for now i can only watch reviews and gameplay commentaries... Its horrible to have 100+ euros next to the laptop and not able to buy a simple game because i cant buy via steam...

  • How did you get the bayonet so fast? I have played the game for 10 hours and still havent unlocked it...

  • So are you looking forward to the Rising Storm DLC? :)

  • is this still populated online?

  • I'm thinking about getting this but do people still play, and do you need a great computer to play it?

  • @averagejoe841 You do need a pretty good PC to run this, which is why I am upgrading mine with christmas money so I can play this awesomeness :P A Quad core CPU @2.6GHz is the recommended CPU so yeh...

  • Man.......This game is $2.99 at half price books new!! But i dont have the pc to play!!

It's like having a sexy Girlfriend Who always wants to have sex But you dont have

A penis......And it would cost me A pretty penny just to upgrade my pc To meet the

Requirements for this game. Bet It would also cost alot to Get a robocopesque penis

    replacement.

  • @theaceofspades56 $2.99?! Really? It's only a few months old.

Are you sure you're looking at Red Orchestra 2 and not Red Orchestra: Ostfront? The latter is half a decade old...

  • @incognito84 It went on sale for like a day. now its on sale for 24 dollars

  • @incognito84 USA hardly fought against Germany. And Russia won the EU war, So placing US in this game would be stupid.

  • @CookiesAndGaming The US are going to be in the game (Rising Storm DLC) But, It is set on Guadalcanal I believe so I reckon it'd be fun :D

  • @DexterousProductions They will lose all the time

  • THIS GAME IS AWESOME!

  • Battle of Stalingrad 23 August 1942 – 2 February 1943. US was involved.

  • Very nice review, just one question though

Do you think the patches may have been a little too late to save the game?

I cant see many people playing it anymore and I fear that the community have just abandoned it :(

I can only hope that the new expansion will bring everybody back

  • @CptGobbles As much as I love this game, there isn't a whole lot to it. They really need to add new modes and maps. The reason I don't play it much these days is not because of the bugs but because of the fact that I'm tired of the same handful of maps.

  • @CptGobbles

You cant be more wrong, RO2 is a huge pc exclusive with one of the most dedicated commmunities out there. This game will stay alive for ages

  • @Theslydonkey just like its older brother. the red orchastra series will live in infamy!

  • This guy dies alot :P

  • @SlaughterGameReviews 'Twas my first day with the game. I'm better now. :)

  • 1.You can only set FOV to 75?! the game is a total fail just because of that

2.it runs like shit,i have i3 and 450gts card and crysis 1 runs on high with 50 fps,in sp in this game on lowest settings i have 80 fps?!

    3.no option to toogle ads?

4.whole screen zoom when you ads? + blur=headache and looks bad and that sure aint realistic

    5.the game has one color=brown

just because it is ww2 does not mean the grass should not be green

6.all the things they added to make the game realistic is broken

  • @TheSUBGAMER Some people have these problems whereas other people do not. I do agree that the FOV needs to be higher however the reason it is set so low is do to a graphical error that needs to be corrected (there was a clipping issue with high FOVs).

Many of the features you complain about can be disabled. I disabled blur and bloom (after I shot this video) because they were too distracting.

I do agree that WW2 games need more of a colour palate.

  • Can you get this on ps3?

  • @jackster11997 It's only on PC and there are no plans to release it on consoles...

  • @incognito84 Thanks

  • @jackster11997 not sure if trolling or the dumbest fuck to stumble upon this planet.

  • @wolffromsteam Never expect intelligence in Youtube comments.

  • WOW this looks shitty, sorry but it does :)

  • @zxcnjfrsfg How does it look shitty?

  • @MoterCrozz Graphics and gameplay looks bad, sorry about my bad language ;) I am used to games like BF and Cod so this is a step back when it comes to these things. It looks like a game from 2001, not good enough. Why do you ask?

  • @zxcnjfrsfg Graphics are bad?Go check your eyes.Used to Cod?

    THAT

    EXPLAINS

    EVERYTHING!

  • @zxcnjfrsfg 1:Have you lost yours? Sorry i did say it looked like a game from 2001 it looks like a game from year 2005, but still you are just a fanboy like so many others around here.

2: I play battlefield 90% of the time i play FPS and play a little COD once a month dude, even then its only for a few minutes.

3: Everyone i hating on a game like COD that might not be the best game, but it is average. Red orchestra is simply to far behind compared to every other FPS on the market right now!

  • @zxcnjfrsfg CoD graphics are all smoke and mirrors. CoD titles have pitifully small maps that try to hide behind an overuse of effects (like debris sprites, smoke, overly elaborate skyboxes etc.) to hide just how small they actually are. In comparison, RO2 maps have more than a dozen times more actual detail and usable space than the average CoD map. They also have double the player count.

So while the two games might look comparable on the surface, RO2's graphics run much deeper.

  • @incognito84 COD is a entertaining arcade shooter, its not meant to be a large scale war sim. Models and designs is way more detailed in COD compared to RO2, the lighting and other effects looks good.

Look at COD 2 and then look at RO 2, its allmost the same graphics. Gameplay is old and i cant stop saying been there done that. ITS WW2 every single FPS franchise has done it before and better then RO2.

I give up on you no matter what I say you will ignore it and cry "RO 2 is best"

  • Comment removed

  • Damn good review, usually 1rst reviews are very shaky but you knew what you wanted to say. I'm pretty convinced on buying this title now.

  • Great review, even greater considering it's your first. thanks! Also, this game looks awesome....

  • Gratz on your first video.

Didnt play RO, when I initally glanced over RO2 I admit it looked intresting, yet I was pre-occupied with BF3 and its beta (I had also been in the alpha). A combination of BF3 being a confused beast (as in it dosnt really know what kind of game it wants to be) and issues arising with Origin made be cancel my pre-order.

I then took a double take on RO2, which I had to say is actually everything I've been looking for in a game. Dedicated to PC, free DLC, WW2, hardcore.

  • Should I get this? I'm planning on getting skyrim but this looks good, om a big fan of WWII shooters but we don't get many good ones lately

  • ha ha "I can handle myself" 1.56 lol nice vid

  • Man there are a lot of arseholes commenting. Cod, bf3 or Ro2; They are all just videogames.

  • great review man, apart from knocking AA3 haha

  • I played the Beta and was so disappointed that I got a refund. RO 1 is a better game. So disappointed as I played RO for years and years. Poor graphics!

  • After the garbage that was BF3 open beta Im 90% sure Ill cancel my BF3 pre order to buying RO2.

  • @pax256 And another retard bases his decision on an old beta build. But good riddance. The less retards to deal with on the servers/BF3 community, the better. I heard that CoD:MW3 is gonna be a good game for your kind. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, yeah... do get RO2 instead of CoD. It's a good MP game. At least you would be making a good decision once in your life.

  • @pax256 how was it garbage? aside from squad management being non-existent the game worked fine for me and was fun. maybe you're just bad at the game? :x

  • @pax256 u now that beta is released to find the faults right?

  • @pax256 bf3 is a joke but man ro2 is a a even a bigger one, just the fact that "highest' FOV is 75 should tell you enough

  • @pax256

RO2 is a complete mess. Its in a worse state than BF3 launch.

RO2 is the disappointment of the year, no contest.

  • @pax256 The Beta was months old code, basing your judgements off a beta is dumb.

  • @Bondytheecliff i see a bf fan there

  • @alphex1000 I'm actually not a huge BF fan, I'm just saying basing judgements off a beta that was old code is dumb. Basing your final judgements off any Beta is dumb.

  • @pax256 Have fun wasting your money. Ro2 is COMPLETLY based on camping.

  • @FunAssFunProductions Just like real life.

  • @YourRulerSkeletos Yeah, and real war isn't fun.

  • I OBJECT!

Hahaha, joke. Great review by the way.

  • I think i'll get this game later haha.. as in 1 or 2 months more.. to let it settle down. I think the gameplay here is awesome. Seen the difference from RO1 and RO2, lots of improvements. :D

  • I heard there were a lot of bugs, crashes, and server problems upon release. The game was released Sept. 13 and now it's two weeks later; have they been adequately resolved?

  • Good job on your first review! Thanks for putting it up.

  • Take places before the US involvement? The US was already involved in the war from December 7, 1941 onwards. Stalingrad took place in 1942, a year after America became involved in the war against the Axis powers. America was already in the war (involved in the war) when Stalingrad took place. America was not involved in Stalingrad. Let's get that clear.

  • @Patchman123 America was involved in the Pacific, not in the Western Front. That's what I meant (I didn't say it in the actual video though).

  • @incognito84People forget that 80% of the German forces were either wounded

or killed onthe Eastern front.Between 72% and 74% of the Luftwaffe was also lost

to the Russian front.Don'tget me wrong our allied efforts in the west in our history

books were always preceived to be gigantic the way our historians wrote about them.

Until you read about the whole of WWII and on all fronts do you see the real picture.

  • @incognito84 It's a "date which will live in infamy", not "a day". :)

  • @incognito84 actually America was in Europe as well not on the eastern front but on the western front with UK and France

  • @Patchman123 It wasn't involved in Europe...

  • @JuliusCezarus Not militarily. But the US was already extending Lend Lease to the Western Allies.

  • Just a snack waiting for Rage and Battlefield 3.

For first time review wasn't that bad, knowing you like tripwire and the serie your objectivity is a little off but that's oké.

If i would review the game i had started with the singleplayer campaign because that's what can make the difference between this game and another. Because the online part is just shooting at a unreal 3 engine based game. And my opinion there are better multiplayer games. So review the singleplayer.

    Thumbs-up

  • No need to drop f-bombs, but otherwise good review.

Thumbs up. Definitely will have to play at some point.

  • AA3 should have played like this. I love this game because it feel like AA2.

  • I would like to know if the multiplayer still has alot of bugs or has been fixed with patches?

    Considering of buying this game.

  • @shotx022 It's getting there but it's still pretty buggy for most people. They've been patching it every other day though.

  • @shotx022

I've been playing this game since it was released, and it was patched several times. I didn't have any problems playing the game, except twice in which the sound went mute.

This game is amazing, and the gameplay is addictive. In my view, it is a must buy (Steam).

  • Very nice review bro :)

  • Nice review! Very true, if people just give it a chance to be patched it will be a corker of a game! Tripwire are working day and night to patch this, which is more than most titles can boast. Keep up the love for TWI!

  • This review convince me to buy the game... I was so pumped. Then when I go to play it after a short amount of time the map goes black, I can't see any menu's, and this is all on "low" setting. :(:(:( I feel like i wasted 40 dollars.

  • @MaliciousIntent83 Give it time. It will be fixed. They're patching it on a regular basis so this will definitely be addressed soon. For now, try going on the forums and asking people for advice! Someone else might be experiencing the same problem. Don't give up.

  • @incognito84 I managed to do some of the ini tweaks and I can now play the game on it's lowest settings. It's just unfortunate because the game looks like Day of Defeat: Source to me now :P Still a lot of fun though

  • @incognito84

hey is there vehicles in this game like tanks, planes and boats.

i hear alot of people on the battlefield forums talk good things about this game,

would you recommended it for someone that likes bad company 2 or is it different

  • A really, Really good reveiw but would of been epic if didnt die as much! =)

  • @JakeSupercool Haha, this is true. I don't die as much now but all that dying in the beginning didn't do any good for my K:D ratio :P

  • I really want to get this game, and you did it justice. Awesome first review, also!

  • Great first review bro. I would have expected as much from a true gamer that knows his shit regarding non bro shooters ;)

  • sup dude nice review and i agree with everything you said. In the beta i bitched my ass off but as i got use to it it felt really nice and almost like cod 1 and 2 lol! i love the game the stats the music the graphics and everything...btw what did you use to record your self playing?...its pretty clear and is there any other way you can record your self playing that would be clearer or no?

  • Good review, dude. Very matter-of-fact points. Pros and cons. I enjoyed it a lot. Probably the best one out there right now. Cheers.

  • Is there singleplayer?

  • @drnoobtube88 Yup! It's not much more than training for multiplayer though. I would not recommend buying the game for the singleplayer.

  • "The unfortunate America's Army 3 title" lmao.

    Solid review man

  • @NateDawg80126 Thanks! Yes, AA3 was very unfortunate and still is.

  • good reveiw, keep it coming

  • Really good review mate

  • Too bad it's so poorly optimized... Everything on my system meets the recommended requirements except my graphics card, but me graphics card is well above the minimum, I still get crashes when running on lowest settings, and the HUD disappears sometimes :/ The game is so amazing but I can't run it without it crashing... Please tripwire OPTIMIZE the ENGINE!!!

  • @hazeman671 I'd say that the issue has more to do with incompatibility than it has to do with poor optimization. It runs flawlessly on my mid-range system whereas on higher end systems, it crawls. It needs to be tweaked specifically for certain problematic hardware configurations.

Anyway, it's very unfortunate that not everyone can have the same experience. There is a thread on the RO2 forums for tweaking your .ini for better performance. I recommend everyone to give it a shot (couldn't hurt).

  • @incognito84 thanks a lot!

  • really like the review and stuff I will sub for now to check your vids.

it's also a great game I really like it and i'm totally new to RO.

But there is one problem, I play on medium graphics and it's just enough to keep me playing but i still play on 20 to 30 fps i really want to play this on 50 fps + high.

    maybe you know?

    I5 650 dual core with 4 threads

    Nvidia Gforce 315

    4 gb ram

i think this game should play on 60 fps on medium with these specs.

  • @extreem573 There is a .ini optimization guide on the RO2 forums. You should go take a look at it. It might not fix the issue but it might give you some more fps to hold you over until a patch addresses it. :)

  • @incognito84 Definatly a good review and im going to pick the game up when i can. (also i subbed and would like to see more reviews)

  • @incognito84 thx allot man, i did what it says but still the frames are around 20 in big maps it's hard to aim with a rifle with these frames. but anyway thx allot, do you know about a upcoming patch that fix the frame issue because i saw allot of complains about it

  • @incognito84 @incognito84 thx allot man, i did what it says but still the frames are around 20 in big maps it's hard to aim with a rifle with these frames. but anyway thx allot, do you know about a upcoming patch that fix the frame issue because i saw allot of complains about it

  • its like a really old game, just high 8x anti-aliasing...

  • I really enjoyed this review. Keep up the good work!

  • great review. I agree that once tripwire starts rolling patches and the map editor that this game will go from awesome to totally fucking awesome.

  • My three problems with this game, still great though, are the frame rate problems (sometimes it's just downright-horrible), the russian weapons are so bad, especially close quarter (when you shot a couple of bullets you look up to the sky). But also the defend missions in single player. It takes like 30sec before you are overwhelmed.

But I still enjoy it - I didn't even play the first one.

  • @fredzep6 "This game sucks" if you hate the game why the fuck you have to comment in every RO2 video "This game sucks" Grow up and GTFO.

  • @Tonkeliponkeli it was a troll channel he already delete it, damn youtube :(

my advise is, "you see all the comments that this game is awesome one unbuild comment that this game sucks doesn't mean anything because you see all the other comments that love the game."

  • Great review mate.......

  • good review

  • its sad that the call of duty nuts are not going to enjoy having to be tactical and thinking. i love realistic games, thats why i love red orchestra XD

  • i love the game C: and ww2

  • o hey if u wanna buy another copy ill take one.. lol

  • really great review especially for your first one, it just slightly dragged on a bit.

  • Great job man, your a natural.

  • Firstly, very nice review! I definately think you should do more. Secondly, is this game very hard to run? I checked one of those "can you run it" sites, it said I can run it very well. But my rig isnt THAT good. I have a few more, but ill ask later. I would appreciate if you could answer these first :D Liked!

  • @BlowTorchCinema Thanks! XD

The unfortunate thing is that even if your system passes the test, you might have framerate issues as the game doesn't seem to be compatible with certain hardware configurations. It works well with mine but you should check over on the forums to see if other people with the same GPU/CPU as you are having problems. In any case, I'm sure they will fix the fps issues soon.

  • Great review, convinced me to buy on steam

  • buying it now

  • I think I'll wait for the free weekend.

  • yea man, excelent review, i play the original RO since day 1, everything u say here is true from the music to the map sizes, for sure it will get better wen new maps start rolling in, really really good review

  • The US had already entered the war by the time of Stalingrad

  • @bce5150 I was referring to in Europe, should have clarified.

  • Tripwire has released Patch 1. Stats tracking works! The Patches have begun; no worries :D

I wasn't initially familiar with Tripwire. From my research I expected them to release patches soon. I've read great things about 'em

Red Orchestra 2 is awesome, love the correct weapons handling and mechanical operation. Love the realism and Bolt Action Battle Rifles. RO2 is Wunderbar :P

Thanks for the review incognito84. I wanna upgrade my PC now. It's been years--pondering a new core system :D

  • Comment removed

  • nice quality, you handled it very well too

  • Thanks for the review, i'm new to the series and plan on buying this tomorrow can't wait.

  • your a really good reviewer a lot of reviews of games make me not too sure to buy it but this review actually makes me want to buy it,thanks man, great review.

  • I just bought this game a half hour ago. Judging by what I see on the internet I think I'm not going to be disappointed. We'll see. I'll come back and comment.

  • This game runs best on a 6 core AMD cpu.

  • Really really good review mate. Bought this game today. I totally agree with this review, I never played the original but I'm aware of the amazing post-release support that Tripwire offered. Not at all worried about the bugs, they'll get fixed over time. Running on ultra just fine with an i7 930, GTX 460 1Gb SLi and 6Gb of RAM.

  • specs? your fps is amazing.

  • @Buckleofbelt Not much, actually. I'm running a GTX 460 with a Sandybridge i5 2500k and 4GB Ripjaws DDR3. Apparently, the low fps is caused by certain CPUs/GPUs and isn't related to the power behind them. I get 60fps or so with Fraps turned off with everything on Ultra settings whereas someone with a more powerful computer might get 20-25fps with the same settings. RO2 just hates certain hardware cocktails.

  • @incognito84 yeah wtf I have a amd anthlon X6 1090T 3.2GHZ and get 40-50 fps. PATCH PLZ.

  • What a great review. Very well presented. Good pacing and nice and balanced.

You convinced me to get the game and i have been enjoying it so far :-)

  • @oliath I especially agree with: 'I think the fans will like it..... if they give it a f&*ing chance.

    So much truth there.

  • I'm a bit irked I can't progress in the campaign the artilery strike training in the axis side is broken and won't let you progress. I haven't tried the multiplayer yet. The campaign is quite fun. I come from the original Ostfront, and I believe they did mainstream it a little. The reloads are faster then the original, it's not a big deal though. The game still keeps the core realism of the original in my opinion.

  • Music of the way /watch?v=EI8ns_aBtzM

  • So are the maps smaller than in Red Orchestra 1 Ostfront?

  • @sspope Nope. I'd say they're pretty much the same size, overall. Some maps are colossal whereas others are standard size.

  • @incognito84 So I might buy it after all, but are you really sure? For on some minimaps I saw in these videos, most of them looked pretty small. Also, what is it that makes RO2 more causal? Because I hate games aimed at the derp, I feel like idiot when playing one :(

One of the most disappoint instruments of mainstream garbage is forcing too much action by making small maps which completely removes tension from games.

  • @sspope Well, to be honest the maps overall are a little bit smaller. I had to think about it. That's not so much a design choice as it is an engine limitation. Maps like Fallen Heroes are epic in size and scale whereas maps like Pavlov's House would be about the same size as Danzig. Still though, none of the maps struck me as "too small" and given that there are far, far more hiding places and traversable areas than the original RO I think you'll feel at home.

  • @incognito84 Well personally, BF2 Project Reality maps (3x3km - 4x4km) is where I feel at home. I like having some sandbox feel, although not as much as on ARMA maps - I think those maps are too large for multiplayer.

  • @incognito84 fallen hero's is the battle of stalingrad

  • Also, there isn't a lot of 'forcing' or hand holding in this game. I'd say there was hardly any. There are choke points like in the original RO but you're never forced in any one direction and you don't spawn right in front of the enemy like you might in CoD.

One mode I'm a big fan of is called Countdown. Some people don't like it because it's too slow but it basically works by only allowing respawns after either team takes an objective. It makes for some slow paced and very tense gameplay.

  • @incognito84 Thanks for that. Will give it a try...except I seem to have lost my VISA O_o.

Also, one more question. Can a dualcore CPU run RO2 on medium settings?

  • great review! very informative!

  • Only problem whit it Bugs like not getting XP and stats are not updating (and also not getting Pre-order weps ) but they are working on it and thats good. but it also keep me not enjoying the game not leveling up and not getting stats update and weps not getting leveld up :(

  • Sniping looks great in this game.

  • Good review, good gameplay. Keep up the good work!

  • Do you guys think i can run this well on a ASUS G17?

  • 6:50 ish.Personally, i think the game needed another 2 months of dev time, the amount of people who are having stuttering and <fps issues (me included) is absolutely atrocious. While yes, it will eventually get fxed, releasing the game and ignoring 30% of the complaints your beta testers are giving you isn't exactly the smartst move. In fct the only reson I'm plying the gme now is because i <3 TWI, if it was another dev this bad on release i would let it rot in my games coll.

    (dumb char limit)

  • @RicochetSaw i DO like your review though.

  • @RicochetSaw That's a fair assessment. I'm lucky in that I can play the game with no glitches or game-breaking errors. My game runs as smooth as silk and that puts me in a minority. If I had been majorly affected by the glitches then this review would not have been so kind (mainly because I wouldn't be able to play the game properly). As it stands, I think TWI was between a rock and a hard place and I empathize with the people who can't enjoy the game through the glitches.

  • Nice review :)

  • Very good review. Thorough, extemporaneous speech, great video clips. Wise choice not to film one entire game and include the death time. Better to take snippets.

  • @ThePlayfulmutt Thanks! It's my first review ever so that means a lot. I wanted to include some tank footage but I wasn't able to get in a tank in any of the servers. From what I've witnessed in other videos though, I'm sure the tanks work splendidly...

  • Is it stable on a GTX 460?

  • @BongofSecrets This video was shot on a GTX 460 with a Sandybridge i2500k and 4GB Ripjaws DDR3 RAM. Take in mind I get about 20fps more with Fraps turned off. The 460 is fine but the really important thing with the first release seems to be the CPU and RAM. Many people with high powered GPUs are still having problems (based on what I hear in the servers).
