  • @blowshimselfupdude does he really look like a guy with a plan?

  • I read the 'look inside' on amazon. It thought it looked really good, while comparing it to Year one...which is, how you would say, badass!

  • is there a joker back story

  • @floydmichaelmoss yes, in 'the killing joke' they explain that he went crazy when his wife got killed and he fell into some chemical witch made him colored like this

  • @thomassegaert That origin isn't canon. He doesn't have an actual origin.

  • @FireFistShikamaru really? in what book do they explaine it i want to read it

  • @thomassegaert The Killing Joke.

  • @FireFistShikamaru that was the one i was talking about

  • yeah I bought it.... and I have read better joker stories ... and I didn't like made of wood at all...

  • ''alan scott... you know with the cape... which is badass"

  • I havent read this one in a while but I remember I really liked the art. I dont think I ever noticed the gum thing.

  • by the way, even though many people see it differently, I consider the backstory in the killing joke as "cannon", or at least some bits out of it. I really like the idea that the joker was a broken man suffering from depressions, until he "turned completely insane". the only thing I don't like about this backstory is the "red hood, chemical" thingie. I rather not know HOW he turned into the joker. but I think it's very interesting to see how the joker was 'before'.

  • that being said, I still thought that the joker in this was spot-on, in the sense that it goes pretty well with the "he reinvents himself new every day" thesis. one day, he want's to kill people because he thinks it's funny, the other day, he wants to do it (like here) out of bloody vengeance. I thought that was pretty good. yes, I think brubaker is a quite decent joker writer, especially in "gotham central", where he wrote a very ice-cold and psychotic joker.

  • while I was disappointed with it, I was disappointed because of totally different reasons. mostly because I think that ed brubaker's run on batman is still my third favorite besides moench's (first) and morrison's (second). and I still don't think that the "first meeting" of the two was 'that good'. actually, I would love to rewrite it, because there has yet to be a real good "first meeting" story. and yes, I even thought the first meet in "the dark knight" was pretty unspectacular.

  • if you want the hard to find joker stories I believe there is a trade called the greatest joker stories ever told I don't know what's in it or if you have it but you could look

  • Read it in the store, got it.

  • another thing off is in year one the crime takes place in december and besides that it was alright but i really do want an offical year 2 sequal and the reaper one doesnt count
