Does anybody know what the best way and most proper way to start out of the blocks in the 100 Meters? My son runs an 11.10 electronic, he's 16 and weighs 195, and 6 Feet tall. lol that wouldn't have been 9.49... he just relaxed but kept his speed, that could've broken 9.70 i'd believe though... but i don't think anyone will ever break 9.60, it's said that it is not humanly possible for the body to move any faster than that without breaking down
try running a 300 from the 300 meter spot and walk the curve on the 400 meter and start all over do that 3 times in 2 sets for the 400 meter. After that you should take a 3 min rest then do 30 meter runs from the 100 meter mark 6 times in 3 sets. Do this for a month and you will see and feel the results.

i need help on 100 - 200 meter sprint techniques... i can run them fast enough but i think i could do much better if i knew the proper techniques. any help?
for the 200 meter practice running the curve by leaning in the curve and shorten the steps a little. Then once you are on the straight away lift the knees and keep a straight posture while you run.
On the curve, run the first 50 metres at about 85%, not slow at all but not 100%. This will include not using your arms so much. After you've covered the first 50m, start pumping your arms in sync with your stride and go all out. By the time you begin the straight, you most likely wont be in first place. However, you WILL catch everyone at about the 140m mark. Just hold your form right through the finish line. The 200m is won on the last 50m.
The fastest man alive. If he ran the full 100m I he would have been in the 9.6 range. The only thing wrong with him is he gets to tense in pleasure situations here he was able to relax because it was a smaller meet. I hope he works on relaxing and I can't wait to see him take gold in the Olympics.

Does anybody know what the best way and most proper way to start out of the blocks in the 100 Meters? My son runs an 11.10 electronic, he's 16 and weighs 195, and 6 Feet tall. He makes up his speed on the last 50 meters. If he could improve his start, he would be in the ten's. Thanks everybody, I appreciate your advice.

practice practice practice. is your son a freshman or soph? our fastest freshman runs an 11.35 auto and his starts are almost perfect.

He's a Sophomore. He just ran an 11.05 electronic in the State Meet Preliminaries. His start looked much better. He's the starting running back at Basha High School in Chandler, Arizona. triple jump - 10.82m
long jump - 5.65m
I know i can do better in all of them but i want to know a few better tachniques to get 11secs, 11m, 6m and 59 secs.

try running a 300 from the 300 meter spot and walk the curve on the 400 meter and start all over do that 3 times in 2 sets for the 400 meter. After that you should take a 3 min rest then do 30 meter runs from the 100 meter mark 6 times in 3 sets. Do this for a month and you will see and feel the results.

for the 200 meter practice running the curve by leaning in the curve and shorten the steps a little. Then once you are on the straight away lift the knees and keep a straight posture while you run.

this will help:
On the curve, run the first 50 metres at about 85%, not slow at all but not 100%. This will include not using your arms so much. After you've covered the first 50m, start pumping your arms in sync with your stride and go all out. By the time you begin the straight, you most likely wont be in first place. However, you WILL catch everyone at about the 140m mark. Just hold your form right through the finish line. The 200m is won on the last 50m.

The fastest man alive. If he ran the full 100m I he would have been in the 9.6 range. The only thing wrong with him is he gets to tense in pleasure situations here he was able to relax because it was a smaller meet. I hope he works on relaxing and I can't wait to see him take gold in the Olympics.

I think Powell is very similar to Jesse Owens and very different to Michael Johnson. Johnson had a great frequency of strides,Powell has a great RATIO lenght /frequency. Powell is very good to see,not Johnson! Powell's back is not so straight as Johnson's. However,in my opinion!

everyone eases up. top speed for any sprinter is reached at about 70 meters. if he didn't ease up, he would have tightened up, and would have slowed down faster, and would have had a slower time.
