NO I like albert but Logan DID let you know what was WRONG with the products he reviews albert does NOT!

Albert is more able to speak about the technical stuff but logan has more humor... So it's sort of draw for me... Like a graphics card with 192 bit bandwith but has a HIGH core clock vs a card with 56 bandwith with a LOWER core clock....

the 8800gts 512 is the perfect balance between performance cost and features. the gts512 is very similar to the gtx in performance benchmarks often out performs the gtx untill you get to extreemy high resolutons , upwards of 1680x1050 with aa. from a cost/performace perspective the ultra is pointless. reply wit sumat cos im a geek

If cost isn't a huge issue, get the 9800gtx. It will out perform the 9600 in SLI by a huge margin. Don't forget that you don't get 100 per cent increase in performance from 2 cards; inefficiency in the cards communicating with each other significantly lowers this so u would only get say a 70%increase. The 9800 is a hugly powerfull card. If ur looking for a cheeper option y not get a 8800. what are u upgrading from and what are ur pc specs?

That is why you can't say you will get less performance if your gpu is doing the physics, cause if the cpu did it, it would slow the whole system down anyway.

Since a GPU have more processors (Streamprocessors)It can calculate a lot of stuff at the same time, which is important, when rendering physics. That is why it can do it a lot faster. So the GTX 280 is like a 240-core machine (IT IS NOT, BUT JUST LOOK AT IT THAT WAY) So even less powerful graphics cards will still work good at doing physics.

Think about it. A cpu is rendering a game with 50fps together with the GPU. Suddenly a building explodes and a lot of physics is going on. IF the CPU most render the physics, it simply doesn't have the power to also calculate all the other stuff, and give instructions to the GPU Which means massive fps drop. Now IF the GPU did the physics (which it can do A LOT faster, because it got more processors)The fps drop wont be so big because the CPU still gets to do all the other important stuff.

any card with stream processors(8/9 series) should be able to use the physics. Only if the source logan got the info from is reliable. On the older cards certain processors could only be used for specific tasks, the stream processors can be used for anything. Hence needing a 8/9 series card over a 6/7 series card.
