Totally agree my friend,that sax(every sax)should have a more brighter sound,not that dark woody concert sound!There is only a door separating you from the player and you can't tell whatever is a saxophone or a tuba,and it's the world most beautiful and romantic instrument!I personally like the D.Sanborn sax sound!
@DulferCarter That depends on what style of music you are playing. Jazz, yes. Classical, no. For jazz, one needs that bright sound that cuts through. But for classical, the dark, "woodier" sound is much more appropriate.
