  • is that a joke?!!

  • Ps the wind a few say? Ever flown a plane ? These guys fly in places u can't stand upright credit to the kings of the air Alaska madmen pilots !

  • The best of the best 100%class pilot the shit he has it !

  • Where were these guys when they did the doolittle raid over Tokyo?

  • I don't think there is much win. Notice the people in the crowd with long hair. There is a girl with long blond hair down her back right at the end of the video, and it is not blowing significantly.

  • in less space than many gyrocopters lol XD

  • who needs a helicopter.

  • Strong head wind.

  • A while ago i watched a bi-plane take off like that and come straight down onto the prop...

  • shit thats crazy. you can land almost anywhere if you know how to fly like that

  • whats the head wind?

  • If you get the ratios right (Power v Drag, Lift v Weight, etc) you can get a brick to climb straight up.

  • la 1era ves que lo vi pense que eran efectos especiales!! es increible!

  • Some of the planes can probably land on helipads and takeoff from helipads :D

  • this is FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who needs a helicopter when u can go in one of these

  • Impressive. VTOL

  • Amusement Park ride developers, take note!

  • Woah....wonder what the headwind was that day! These guys are awesome.

  • ok i would like see them taking off from high and hot airport

  • yesss i can finaly takeoff from my own backyard

  • Here is the formula for Lift Coefficient Cl = L / (A * .5 * r * V^2) ... get those numbers right and you can get a brick house to go straight up ... the planes most Bush Pilots use have amazing L.C and LOTS of HP .. it really ain't rocket science ... put 500 HP in a C140 or a Stinson Voyager (Piper Cub - et al) and you can get off the ground before the wheels go around 1 revolution in cold dense air with a 50Kt headwind.

  • Horizontal helicopters.

  • who needs stinkin rotor heads and their whirly birds! Viva Bush pilots!

  • light aircraft and a ton of horsepower.

  • that wasn't a takeoff run ......it just jumped to the air

  • Thats amazing. Never know it can take off on such a short distance.

  • wow! How did the plane at 0:25 do that? That was like less than a length of the plane and it flew off!

  • custom built engine

  • Actually, most pilots up here in Alaska do exactly just that. They put big tundra tires on them to role over huge rocks, and on the first airplane that you saw take off, it dosent even have a turbine engine. i think its a lycoming 160 horse (but im not totally shere on that). how people get those things off like that is by having 20,000 hours in a bush plane.

  • or by flying with someone with 20 000 hours and learning how :-)

  • haha that can work to!

  • na 5

  • Well this is what happens when you take a supercub and put monster truck wheels on it. It can take landing rates that you wouldn't want to do with a proper supercub, and if you have that turbocharged engine and just hold the brakes for a second and then pull up, provided you have 30gal of fuel aboard, it will just end up in the air.

Bush pilots are pretty impressive, but it's just sort of an "I'd never do that to my airplane in a normal situation" thing.

  • unless you fly bush and stol is your normal lol

  • anybody can do it on an asphalt, 100% horizontal pad

  • wow & wow & amazing. Great pilot-great plane...

  • That's crazy. The shortest I've ever done is like 700 ft...

  • Damn, I know some people who can't even park a car in that space.

  • @MaconMusicFan Half the world's population don't count.

  • amazing!!!!

  • Alaska FTMFW!!!!!!!!

  • wow - that was about what, 10 feet?

  • hydrogen filled tyres lol

  • How the heck is that possible??

  • Headwinds.

  • No headwind, no wind at all!! Thats just how we do up here.

  • what the hell he copied the harrier

  • Just a lot of good old hp and prop setup...Just like a power boat setup to get on plane faster

  • Wow.

  • wow man they should give you a heli license :))

  • Great skill brothers ~V~

  • I agree with off-duty--that headwind must have been a good 20 or 25kts. And those huge balooon tires may have been pretty soft for the landing.

  • There's no indication of the wind, look at the people's clothes.

  • dont even need a conveyor belt

  • wow pretty damn good!!

  • Must be a strong headwind.
