Not just direct plays and credited goals by himself, but many times as well he would deliberately pass when he could have instead taken the shot........., it was a selfless act on his part and passing to a teammate, with the goalie wholly focused on Federov, the goal was made. I know there are critics of the man but he is/was one of the best. Exceptional skating ability, of course handling ability and shot making............. But this guy is never credited with the aforementioned.

Fedorov had it all - fastest skater - best skater - one of the hardest shoot - exelent stichandler and play hard. He was as good as defence as he was at offense - Hell Scotti Bowman even wondered if he should put him i goal lol. All respect to Yzerman but i think Fedorov had done much more if he was alone the leader in Detroit. I think we will see the same thing with Malkin in Pitsburg. He can put opp 400 points pr season but Pitt will always belong to Crosby.

By the way this vid reminded me how great of a player he was. He had some of the most amazing foot work, stick and puck handling, had a very powerful shot, and was just an amazing skater. The guy wasn't afraid to get roughed up to score one in the back of the net. Was able to do it all even back at the d-line.
