Yes, i was a teenager when this movie came out and lost touch with what happened , i had no idea that they had been killed, how horrible.!!

Anyone interested their is another wonderful story called Christian the Lion which is awesome as well. Also Kevin Richardson is the Lion Whisperer and has an unbelievable relationship with lions!!

Elsa died from a tick born disease called Babesia. She was only 5 years old.

Such an odd idea for a movie: an African docudrama using the real people as actors and recounting the tale of an orphan lion cub. Sounds like a Disney TV movie.

But I remember what a have-to-see-it hit the movie was when it came out - and how there wasn't a dry eye in the house at the end.

Well worth digging up at the specialty video store if you haven't seen it.
