I'll always appreciate my mother for how she brought me up. As a child often when homosexuality was discussed my mother would explain it to me like this; "They're women, but in a man's body." I know now that's not the case for many of course, but I'll always appreciate that explaination, because it seemed to me to be something of a torturous experience to be one thing on the inside, but something else on the outside. It simplified the complex idea of gender, so even a child can understand.

I was afraid at the time, which was a useful emotion under the circumstances. I don't want men in the women's restroom, so I can sit on the throne in peace knowing no one is trying to view me in the stall or ready to hop over or crawl under the partitions.
I once went into the women's restroom and out of the corner of my eye, spied a man following me inside. I became frightened as a man had recently raped a woman in an infrequently used restroom on campus. So, I turned right around and exited. As I walked through the door, the man was coming in through the entry door. He looked at me, said "sorry" and then litterally ran away. If a potential rapist dressed in women's clothes, I would not have been alerted to anything suspicious.

Gender is to do with how you identify in society's social construct. The way you identify with your gender is about as scientific as personality. I mentioned in a comment of another video that people can not be expected to simply not exist because someone does not like them. If that was true, this would be an empty planet for sure. About the restrooms, however, does the seperate restrooms refer to gender or sex? With out that being known, it is kind of hard to figure out what restroom trans-genders are supose to use. I THINK the bathrooms are supose to be seperated by sex, not gender, thought I never understood the seperation anyway.

For a start, they're not filming "tall women" - they're filming transgendered women with the builds of linebackers going into the ladies room. I have a close friend who is transgendered and I would be upset if I found that someone had secretly filmed him using the restroom. If a person's identity is defined by the mind inhabiting the body, and not by anything superficial, then being transgendered is a /physical/ deformity rather than something /spiritually/ significant. Even if the this weren't the case, violating people's privacy in order to intrusively oppose their harmless personal quirks would still be creepy and wrong.

Wow. i was just looking up a few facts on trans people since I have recently come to a realization that I am transgendered. I was just being nosey and seeing what other people had to say about trans people, so i looked up a few things and came across massresistance. Boy, was I shocked at what they had to say. LOL, thanks for informing me of these guys. I was getting tired of patrolling the Westboro Baptist Church for entertainment. I got a new organization to laugh at now. I'll always appreciate my mother for how she brought me up. As a child often when homosexuality was discussed my mother would explain it to me like this; "They're women, but in a man's body." I know now that's not the case for many of course, but I'll always appreciate that explaination, because it seemed to me to be something of a torturous experience to be one thing on the inside, but something else on the outside. It simplified the complex idea of gender, so even a child can understand.

@miriamEnglish I am aware that hetero men probably would not want to be caught dead in women's clothing, even to disguise themselves to enter a women's restroom. I am not ruining my life with fear. I was afraid at the time, which was a useful emotion under the circumstances. I don't want men in the women's restroom, so I can sit on the throne in peace knowing no one is trying to view me in the stall or ready to hop over or crawl under the partitions.

I once went into the women's restroom and out of the corner of my eye, spied a man following me inside. I became frightened as a man had recently raped a woman in an infrequently used restroom on campus. So, I turned right around and exited. As I walked through the door, the man was coming in through the entry door. He looked at me, said "sorry" and then litterally ran away. If a potential rapist dressed in women's clothes, I would not have been alerted to anything suspicious.

Gender is to do with how you identify in society's social construct. The way you identify with your gender is about as scientific as personality. It isn't something that is proved because there is no single way to identify your gender, it is actually very fluid despite how society tries to force us into one of two boxes.

I really don't get their problem transgender people in a bathroom. In the guys it could be awkwared if he uses a urinal but one would he would use as stall unless he had already had an operation in which case the point is moot.
However unless someone is climbing on toilets or under the stalls, why is someone who happens to have a penis a problem in the women bathroom as long as they don't whip it out?

As a bisexual with friends that identify as gay, bisexual, and transgendered, I am simply appalled by the ignorance of MassResistance and those who agree with it. I stumbled across this website while doing research for my school's GSA, on transgender bathroom rights, and I was too angry for words. Likewise, I can't believe some of the comments that this video has received. People, let go of your ignorance for two seconds and look at what's going on around you. LGBT people are NOT hurting you.

I mentioned in a comment of another video that people can not be expected to simply not exist because someone does not like them. If that was true, this would be an empty planet for sure. About the restrooms, however, does the seperate restrooms refer to gender or sex? With out that being known, it is kind of hard to figure out what restroom trans-genders are supose to use. I THINK the bathrooms are supose to be seperated by sex, not gender, thought I never understood the seperation anyway.

Ok, they are a creepy group and their video is nonsensical and ultimately hateful but some of your counter-arguments are disingenuous. For a start, they're not filming "tall women" - they're filming transgendered women with the builds of linebackers going into the ladies room. Additionally, although you may not care what the gender is of others with you in the restroom does not mean that it does not matter to others: we would not have gender-segregated restrooms if it did not matter.

Privacy is important, but someone, who for reasons beyond their control has been mismatched with the wrong body, should not have to be denied equal rights to accomodate others who arent able to recognize their gender. I have a close friend who is transgendered and I would be upset if I found that someone had secretly filmed him using the restroom. If a person's identity is defined by the mind inhabiting the body, and not by anything superficial, then being transgendered is a /physical/ deformity rather than something /spiritually/ significant. Even if the this weren't the case, violating people's privacy in order to intrusively oppose their harmless personal quirks would still be creepy and wrong.
