Watch out for Box turtles

i'm prepared to sound like a big meany head, so here goes. what did you do for the turtles who were hurt but still alive? did you just "help them across" the rest of the way, then let nature finish things up? or did you try and find a vet or wildlife sanctuary? did you give the damn thing the mercy it deserved? i understand that "shocking, heartrending" videos are the fastest way to a persons heartstrings. but they're also the biggest open door for terrorist organisations like ALF or hsus

I am crying I love all kinds of turtles but stupid people are building to muck cites and towns the government has to stop this it's sad it's where they live they used to have huge habitats until towns and cites where made the turtles did nothing PROTECT TURTLES FOREVER!!!!

@TsS7VEN LOL. Eastern Box turtles are not in the desert. These pics of the dead turtles were taken over a period of months. They were compiled later to make this video to raise awareness. How can you tell sunlight from pictures? LMAO. I've been caring for Box turtles for over 20 years, rescuing and rehabilitating them. The only creeps are people who do not watch out for Box turtles.

How did you happen to find all of these at the same time of day? look at the sunlight it never changes and there is like 5-10 difrent dead turtles. that doesnt happen. did you save them until this day and take them out to the desert to make the film? I dont trust this film. your a creep for even making this.

I dont know were your from but I am unemployed an temporarily homeless I am currently doing my own research on this subject between oak dale and patchagui last year i hardly did any searching but found 1 dead montaulk hwy bayport someone cut all the wild vegetation along there property the turtle was dead on the side of the rd i this year 5 roadkill's one live and i found a dead cleaned out shell with white eggs intact anyone who wishes to contact me my email is rueck.joseph3@gmail .com

I try and help all turtles that I see in the road, regardless of what species they are, especially boxies. I have a juvenile female that was given to me as a hatchling by a neighbor. She is the cutest turtle and is very special. She has even come to me when I've called her name.

Great video! People should also know that box turtles shouldn't be taken from the wild for pets. It is very selfish to force a box turtle, who may be over 50 years old, into a man made terrarium or an outdoor enclosure. Yes they are cool animals, but why not settle for a painted turtle for a pet. Box turtles reproduce way too slowly, and are already on the decline everywhere. Like Drew says, help them across the road and be on your way. Thanks for the touching video!!

wow i omost cryed at the begining reminds me of when friends gave us some to keep for a while 3 years ago and we let all but one loose in the woods the one we kept weve had for 7 years now but last summer we found one dead in our yard and one by our house that was hit by a mower we kep her till her shell was healed but thnx 4 the vid

Dude, you ROCK for doing this. People need to get their heads out of their asses and realize that it won't kill them to slow down and watch the road. A 2k lbs chunk of metal vs a 20 oz turtle is just extreme selfishness and bullying.
