@wyguy1011 Minecraft is based on your CPU power, it doesn't really draw much from your GPU. Though it would probably would run Minecraft fairly well considering his CPU is quite amazing as well.
Don't judge the game before you've played it, this is the best looking game to date. The reason he is getting such low FPS is the resolution, tessellation, and Advanced DOF which practically cuts frames in half. I can max this out with Advanced DOF turned off at 1080p with a single 560 TI and a 2500k OCed to 4.8 GHZ at 30+ fps, which is very playable. The game is not unoptimized, it simply throws in a fuckload of effects and for some reason gives you no choice over them past a certain preset.
You should get MSi Afterburner and look at your GPU usage. If it's like 60% when you have 40 FPS, then you know the game is an unoptimized piece of shit. It's really sad to see 3 GTX 580s cry at Metro 2033.
The frame rate is so low because he's running such a high resolution and his 580s probably only have 1,5GB which is too low for this game. And it probably only uses for cores anyway.

So basically, this game cannot be maxed out with current technology (2560x1600, Very High, 16xAF, 4xAA, DX11). Games that dip below 60 fps aren't really 'maxing' the game. I'm assuming 580 quad-sli would not scale much compared to the tri-sli. This game is easily the most demanding game out, and I can see Last Light being the most intensive game for years to come.

Because if you are, you'd be wrong, it's an optimization issue. Things like shadows being rendered by the CPU does NOT mean that 580's cannot run the game fine, it means the dumbass developers had PC development as an afterthought, although with Metro, it's non-political bad optimization.
@XmXFLUXmX2 If a game has graphics are that good, then yes it is normal for 3 GTX 580's to not get 60FPS or higher. Also, 3 GTX 580's are not giving "poor performance", the framerate goes as high as 70+ sometimes with the average being around 50. That's not poor performance, also, look at the resolution. Look, a single GTX 580 can max every single setting in this game at 1080P and still give a good 30FPS. Optimization doesn't make much difference really.
On processing power alone the 8800gtx was more powerful than the Cell. That's a card from back in 2005. I am sick of hearing PS3 fanboys talk about the Cell's anal loving unicorn like magical powers. WTF I am trying to get back in pc gaming have a x box 360 but used to have a good pc back in the day. @alfacoro metro 2033 is not something you want to play at maxed out settings at the moment, maybe in 3 years. Do NOT buy the 1100 T instead get a 2600k or a 2500k. Get a decent cooler like the H50, H70, hyper 212+, noctura D14, etc and overclock the hell out of the cpu. Now you can get a GTX 580, which will basically give you playable fps at the max settings. If you are unsatisfied, get another one to sli.

@alfacoro a 2600k will eat the 1100t for breakfast. Yes it has 4 cores opposed to 6, but it is a high-end intel chip which comes with a technology called hyperthreading. You can google it, but basically it generates 4 extra virtual cores, giving 8 total cores. I am not saying the more cores the better, because even if the 2600k did not have hyperthreading, it still would have been a better chip than the 1100t.

@HgKim90 Thanx about the water cooling I mean if I want to over-clock the processor will I get better cooling from a high end fan cooler like the D14 or from bottom of the line water cooling like the Corsair H70 because their is not much price difference. And because I am new to over clocking I will not be going for any extreme over clocks. i.e over clocking from 3.2 to 4.0GHz do you class that as a safe over clock or can I push more without using an expensive water cooling system.
@HgKim90 Actually hyperthreading SPLITS the cores, so it works more efficiently, not super duper powerful. Although the 2600k is worth it for the OC capability, 5.2ghz on air, 6ghz on water.

@XmXFLUXmX2 If a game has graphics are that good, then yes it is normal for 3 GTX 580's to not get 60FPS or higher. Also, 3 GTX 580's are not giving "poor performance", the framerate goes as high as 70+ sometimes with the average being around 50. That's not poor performance, also, look at the resolution. Look, a single GTX 580 can max every single setting in this game at 1080P and still give a good 30FPS. Optimization doesn't make much difference really.

On processing power alone the 8800gtx was more powerful than the Cell. That's a card from back in 2005. I am sick of hearing PS3 fanboys talk about the Cell's anal loving unicorn like magical powers. Ps3 vs pc here? Pc wins hands down, cell technology is also not a path play station should go, due to the fact many coders cant port to ps3 without issues regarding recoding everything. I am not the expert on cell technology, but I do know this, a strong gpu will own the cell in metro 2033 maxed out 1080p and all that. WTF I am trying to get back in pc gaming have a x box 360 but used to have a good pc back in the day. I looking around and hitting brick wall I want to spend about £1200-£1500 but people have £5000 systems and can't even max out the settings what does this mean that my pc will only play games like this in the lowest setting or not at all crazy. I going to get 8GB ddr3 1666mhz, X6 1100T processor, 64Gb SSD and 2 1tb Sata 3 drives, A gtx 580, 1000W PSU. ANY GOOD for these types of games plz help

@alfacoro metro 2033 is not something you want to play at maxed out settings at the moment, maybe in 3 years. Do NOT buy the 1100 T instead get a 2600k or a 2500k. Get a decent cooler like the H50, H70, hyper 212+, noctura D14, etc and overclock the hell out of the cpu. Now you can get a GTX 580, which will basically give you playable fps at the max settings. If you are unsatisfied, get another one to sli.

@alfacoro a 2600k will eat the 1100t for breakfast. Yes it has 4 cores opposed to 6, but it is a high-end intel chip which comes with a technology called hyperthreading. You can google it, but basically it generates 4 extra virtual cores, giving 8 total cores. I am not saying the more cores the better, because even if the 2600k did not have hyperthreading, it still would have been a better chip than the 1100t.
I don't understand your questions concerning watercooling.

@HgKim90 Thanx about the water cooling I mean if I want to over-clock the processor will I get better cooling from a high end fan cooler like the D14 or from bottom of the line water cooling like the Corsair H70 because their is not much price difference. And because I am new to over clocking I will not be going for any extreme over clocks. i.e over clocking from 3.2 to 4.0GHz do you class that as a safe over clock or can I push more without using an expensive water cooling system.

@HgKim90 Actually hyperthreading SPLITS the cores, so it works more efficiently, not super duper powerful. Although the 2600k is worth it for the OC capability, 5.2ghz on air, 6ghz on water.
