  • @GBW306....I ACTUALLY LOVE WHAT I DO....i just hate the fucks that make my job miserable cuz they lay in the weeds with binoculors and harass you to see if your breaking bullshit rules...i work alot of hours and sacrifice alot for those fucks all i want in return is to go to work and be treated with respect and dignity...is that too much to ask for faggot? i mean who wants to go to work and be treated like your fuckin pig shit?

  • @GBW306.....first of all what the fuck would you know about them "laying a job out"?....do you work for the cocksuckers? and how can i spend the money they "force" me to make when im always at work bitch? the point i was trying to make is guys like you who get turned on sexually by shit like this have fucking mental issues that need to be analyzed...cuz the csx is ran by a bunch of lopsided cocksuckers..they have too many cheifs that make like 400% more then there average employee...

  • Csx sucks.....plain and simple...they treat there employees like shit...the most unethical company ive ever worked for they dont give a damn if they destroy your personal and social life as long as your at work 24/6....and god forbid you lay off or miss a call...fuck csx

  • @bygmyke1 Sounds like you don't have a work ethic to begin with. I'm sure you don't mind spending the money they "force" you to earn with a gun to your head. I also do recall they lay the job out for you when you go to the hiring session/interview. You made the choice to work there, they didn't force your hand. They didn't make it sound pretty because they don't want whiny little shitheads like you. It's whiny little cunts like you that are the reason I can't work 7+ 12 hours a day. Thanks loser

  • Message to all commenters: There are NO condoms in this video.

  • 2:06 is that a condom?

  • That engine sure is purring a sweet note

  • what is the bell button for ? it seems he pressed it after hearing message on radio.didn't hear horn sound so it aint that ? or is it, and why do u move the lever then move it back then power on again, what is that lever is it throttle ? thanks i am not an engineer obviously

  • That lever is the Independent Brake.

The bell button activates and shuts off the bell. The bell can also be activated by blowing the horn, then can be shut off with the bell button.

  • lol now you can't capture anything since 2010 :(

  • Very cool, but why is a CSX coal train running under a unit rock ID?

  • This is a limestone train, not coal...

  • This is a limestone train, not coal...

  • You for got to show the dirty toilet...

  • 1:06 aaah you missed the horn's button D:

  • I would have been blowing the horn, but the other employees at Shelly Materials unloading the train would have thought it was an emergency.

  • @CSXno601 ooowh i see.... even im 18 y/o and i still want to blow a train's horn

  • @BOXAXIU Put a train horn on your car .. google 'hornblasters' and get their 4-trumpet black horns.

  • kool, ive driven an ac4400cw before..but it was in a simulation game..its not very hard to control

  • you don't see many in cab videos, thanks for posting.

  • every diesel has a toilet in that little aerea in front of the cab

  • @nagiesse Not switchers

  • What type of loco? I know it's a GE Widecab

  • i thought thier would have been a bathroom and bunks inside that train

  • There is a small restroom. No bunks.

  • @CSXno601 thank you for replying

  • @basshunter477 not in the locomotives only in the caboose

  • @cementhauler99 I'm 14 to and I bet I could drive one!

  • @madbeastification You start out as a conductor, and after years and years and years, you gain seniority, where you may be promoted to engineer.

  • im 14 and i bet that with no training lol i could run a dash-9

  • You DO know that most newer GE's have slow speed control?

  • CSX conductor you?...please answer

  • What's that joystick that the engineer was using?

I've seen them on German videos, used for the brakes.

  • In this case, it's the Independent Brakes.

  • @CSXno601 Okay, thanks. First time for me seeing this on a North American locomotive.

  • who let you in the locomotive?

  • 2:12 what happened to the reverser?

  • It was the trailing unit. The reverser was taken out.

  • @CSXno601 ohh ok so the lead locomotive has the reverser in it. and trailing units dont have them

  • why there no cat in video?

  • Forgot to add you can see the square in it, condoms are circles. So I was right about the bbq :s

  • @gmanupt I think its one of the hand cleaners things.. Like when you eat bbq? Or maybe he just wants to enjoy himself late at night, you never know o.O

  • lol 2:16 is that a condom?

  • when I was 8 I got to be inside of one of these. And I got to drive it! Will never forget that. Good vid how long does it take to become a conductor?

  • I don't actually work for the railroad (yet), but can tell you that on most Class I railroads, it takes quite a bit of training, and some heavy railroad experience, before becoming a conductor. After completion of the conductor training programs, it usually takes 5 years for your seniority to increase, and for you to become an engineer.

  • Dash 9 :)

  • It is a violation of FRA rules to use independent brakes when hauling anything other than locomotives. We have an FRA violation here.

  • Tell that to Bob. He's kept his job here for 16 years so far, through FRA inspection and all. I think he knows what he's doing...

  • @BARRIEMOREBARLOW Sorry I have to point out to you that, that is wrong. Engineers can use any four of the braking possibilities at any time. Yes the independent is more for stopping the locomotive, but it can be used to slow down the whole train.

  • @BARRIEMOREBARLOW

Oh no it's not. Geez!! It's a violation of most company rules (such as BNSF) for using the independent brake over 10 mph regardless of light power or cars.

  • @BARRIEMOREBARLOW Your an idiot no it is not.

  • @BARRIEMOREBARLOW Your an idiot and dont know what your talking about. Dont post things unless you understand what you are talking about.

  • @BARRIEMOREBARLOW Really? BNSF tells me to use them when stopping 130 car loaded coal trains.

  • you know i would really like to get into the rail road field, bad thing there are r.r. jobs where i live.

  • what happened to the reverser at 2:20

  • This was the trailing unit, so it was taken out at the time.

  • @00023smitty It was taken out. They are removable. On our railroad we take the reverser out when & hang it out the window to show our breakman that we will not be moving the train. When the breakman see's the reverser he or she is then allowed to make the air connection between the cars or locomotive. It only come out in the neutral position & the locomotive can not be moved when it is out

  • AWESOME THIS WAS TAKEN ON MY BIRTHDAY :)

  • have you ever gone through greenville NC cause ive seen a CSX train there

  • No sir.

  • @CSXno601 Can you use dynamic breaking at speeds above 50mph?

  • @micksquizzy Do you mean Greensboro NC, because Greenville is in south carolina

  • @dwdrums828 i mean greenville NC there is a town in NC called greenville don't tell me there is no greenville NC because greenville NC is MY home town

  • @micksquizzy Jeez dont freek out, thats good to know though, where in nc is it? Because I live in Asheville and there is lots of NS action.

  • @dwdrums828 look it up you will probably find it on google

  • @dwdrums828 well there is allot of NS in NC and VA in fact most of the trains in my videos were NS

  • Comment removed

  • No.

  • What's with the hand drawn lights label in this "modern" cab?

  • i thought the sand button said bang

  • do u hav to go through some kind of school to work on a train

  • Wonderfull video. Also i recongnises some part of driver panel: reversing lever, throttle lever near the end of march but reversing and brake, who often manipulates, engine driver . We have and used also General Motors Diesel locomotive made in Romania in cooperation with GM - USA.

GREETINGS FROM ROMANIA - European Union

  • The "levers" (or whatever you prefer to call them), from left to right are: Reverser, Throttle, Train Brake and Independent Brake. The buttons from top to bottom are: Lead Axle Sand, Sand, Bell and Horn. Not a very complex set-up once you're familiar with it. Glad you liked the video!

  • I can see where our Class 70 controls come from. Why are American train drivers called Engineers?

  • is that a rubber next the bell button in that dash 8 cab???

  • No, and I'm becoming tired of people asking that...

  • @CSXno601 i was being serios i didnt know, it looked like it

  • I know, I've just received a great deal of inquiry about this lately, and I think it should be obvious that it's nothing of the sort....

  • @CSXno601 i agree now that i watch it again, but at first quick glance thats what i thought it was, i was more interested of teh dash 8 anyway

  • I know. I wasn't directing those past two comments directly at you; More at everyone in general.

  • Re: Feminine voice on detectior: Guys, it might be the late Majel Barrett of "Star Trek". She did a lot of voice over work including railroad related stuff.

  • QUOTE: That very detector used to pronounce the "9" with a feminine sound to it. END QUOTE

Was this a "particular" detector or do they use the same voice over for all detectors [CSX] system wide? Perhaps the "9" was purposely produced with a feminine voice so as not to confuse "9" with "5." e.g. "niner" versus nine. Confusion can arise over radio with certain words hence my remark. Watching these vids I would find the most challenging part of your job deciphering what the heck people are saying.

  • you try & respond to comments & it doesnt post TESTING 1-2-3

    youtube's new format blows glass!

  • great video ! :D

looks like a condom packet at 2:10 LOL

  • Is that a dead bird and mouse on the floor!?

  • No, it's not, but I see what you mean.

  • Lol I was gonna sayy!!! When I drove a CN GP9 it was really clean compared to this...

  • @HunterBHolmes CSX doesn't clean anything....everything on their system is dirty and shitty.

  • That's for sure! There's a layer of dirt everywhere in those cabs...You come out feeling sticky and gross! LOL

  • @meccaturbo

CSX is there to work, not to look pretty.

  • @pznerd NS is still a better railroad than CSX....on all counts.

  • @meccaturbo

If NS was so much better than CSX, then CSX wouldn't be in business. Each railroad has it's own up's and downs, so you're entitled to your own opinion. NS is #1 in safety, but that's because they fire any employee that fucks up, CSX is a little bit more lax with discipline.

  • @pznerd Like I said, NS is a much better railroad than CSX, and it's not just on safety. Better operating ratio, better track maintenance, better business development department, best safety record. There's a reason the FRA recognizes them as the safest railroad in the country. They're just a better company, and it's not just my opinion - it's widely known in the railroad industry.

  • what a piece of JAWNK. haha nah jk those AC units are smooth as silk. nice video.

  • That AC44 certainly was a much better ride than the SD70MAC we had a couple months earlier.

  • lol most engineers that get anything EMD usually complain.

  • The SD70MAC had a faulty radio on the conductor's side and the arm rest was broken. Not to mention that it smelled in the cab, and it was ultra dirty. The GE was better!

  • Great filming and ride! I was up in a SD40-2 the other day.

  • Thanks for showing closeups and detail.

Never got to see such before.

Too bad the horn is ALL ON/ALL OFF.

I prefer the valve where you can just barely sound the horn, such as at grade crossings where no one is around.

Nice steady sharp videos with interesting shots.

    Please keep them coming.

    Thank you.

  • Thanks for the compliment! I like being detailed in my cab shots. It's a thing that a lot of people seem to like.

  • where do you sleep in the train does it have a bunk like an 18 wheeler verycurious please reply

  • There's no bed in a locomotive.

  • The railroads frown upon anyone sleeping in locos. Unless of course your on one of the northern roads where they tend to get snowed in out in remote places. The same reasons why they have microwaves, fridges and hotplates.

  • did the crew survive?

  • Yes, the crew survived, however, their career at CSX did not.

  • why is csx always looking for ways to fire employees?

  • ....Is that a condom @ 2:14?

  • No.

  • 1:57 "headlights" is spelled wrong, haha. You can tell it's a slave because the reverser lever is disconnected. Thanks for the awesome vid!

  • Yes it is. I noticed that too. It's a common thing in locomotives.

  • Nice video!! The cab stand set up is quite similar to the Genesis engines we have here

  • Really cool video.

  • I would have pushed the horn button lmao

  • I did in my other K920 videos, but not in this one. If the other workers at this place here the horn, they'll think it is an emergency, and stop unloading operations to make sure.

  • The derailment in KEnt i know well, i live there...We still use the same bridge! Had it closed while CSX took FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR to clean it up...But they never replaced the bridge...

  • They are working on it next year (2010).

  • that is so cool

  • I like the detector at 3:40.

  • It sounds better than it once did. That very detector used to pronounce the "9" with a feminine sound to it. Luckily, it became so bad that CSX eventually replaced the audio. Thanks goodness!

  • yeah, CSX really does make good detectors, especially in the next stages if its needed.

  • @ucvgabe CSX doesn't make detectors...no railroads make them. they buy them!

  • wait, did he say No Defects ANYMORE????

  • Yes it does. The detector says "CSX, Equipment Defect Detector, Milepost 121.9, Track N/A, No Defects, Total Axles N/A, End of Transmission." The detector announces that a train has tripped it's circuit after the engines passed. But it doesn't say "No Defects" or the axle count until after the full train has been by. That is what Ron was confused about, and that is why he said "It doesn't say No Defects anymore."

  • Great, GREAT footage!! Bring us more when you get a chance amigo! I LOVE IT! :-D

  • "Clean Cab"...It sure was! I love my train to havve a spotless cab myself. Was 7359 converted to dash controlls or somthing?

  • 7359 is a former Conrail, which had a desktop control stand since it was built. Pretty ratty inside that unit.

  • Great Video!

  • Great Video!

BIG THX!!! from a German Cargo Train Driver...

  • First of all, unlike most YouTube railfans, I don't get "overly" excited about cabrides. I have been in the cab of enough locomotives to know what to expect, and not flip out. Secondly, you are partly right. It does become "another job", but it can be a fun experience. Depending on the mainline/railroad you pull for, you can run as fast as cars on the highway or faster. Trains aren't slow like everyone makes them out to be. And as for the lack of the steering wheel......who cares? Not a loss.

  • Yea, it would be awesome for the first few months. After a while, it might get boring, but it still would be interesting. But thats just my point of view on it :-)

  • gee it sure is foamer around here. as much as you filmed the cab of that engine in explicit detail I would say "First of all, unlike most YouTube railfans, I don't get "overly" excited about cabrides" = bullshit lulz. we are very displeased with you. also Ian would be pissed you didnt blow the horn.

  • First of all, I only film the cab in explicit detail for those who enjoy cab ride videos. I personally find all cabs identical, and would not mind having no footage at all. Secondly, I CANNOT blow the horn at any random time!! At Shelly Materials, they react as if it is an emergency, if the horn is blown. I don't want to cut all stone unloading operations, just for blowing the horn for fans on YouTube!

  • @CSXno601 all cabs are not identical. widecabs are very different than spartan cabs. try getting in an F-7 cab, that's nowhere near a cab in an AC4400CW.

  • PS - I also just kind of said that to get that last guy off my case! :)

  • I know that. I've ridden in several ALCO's, some of the older EMD's and even a couple E and F Units. The cabs do vary quite a bit. What I basically meant is that they all have the same feeling of being "cooped up", all seem dirty, and have the same basic functions. They become redundant, but they're fun to be in. However, the fun does have the tendency to wear off... Any railroader will tell ya that one!

  • @CSXno601 I definitely believe you on that....the fun indeed wears off. I think it's like that with any passion-turned-career. It has it's bits of fun but when you do it day in and day out, it's not as fun as when you were on the "outside looking in".

  • Awesome, that was on my birthday:D!!

  • wiash i could ride on a train.

  • Are you guys rotary dumping?

  • No, there is a shaker that losens the stone. The stone is emptied out the bottom of the hopper, where it is shoveled into a pile, and a dump truck comes and collects it.

  • What kind of engine was that, Gevo, sd70ACe?

  • The 7359 was a C40-8W, and the 545 was an AC4400CW. I rode mostly in the 545.

  • Great video!

  • Does, CSX K920 works with interchange train on limestone loads/empty?

And, awesome video as ever! ^^

  • CSX K920 operates between Carey and Kent, OH on an 'as required' frequency. It does not interchange any stone. It takes it from the company in Carey to Kent where it is unloaded and distributed. It is not running right now until Spring. There is a K919 that runs between Carey and Youngstown too that isn't running right now until Spring. It is the same setup as K920, only doesn't have a nice crew member like Bob Rohal. :)

  • Oh, I see! Thanks for your info :)

And, that where you was sit with CSX crew so he really not as friendly to you as much?

  • Yes, Bob Rohal is my friend.

  • That's nice!

    Coool!

  • There's some real raw footage you can't ever replace.

Look, when you ignore a spammer, they go away, ok?

This is a great video that I'm glad you shared with us. You can't ever get more authentic then this video.

  • Well, unfortunately, he seems to be one of the more 'pesky' trolls. But you're right, I should just start ignoring him. It's just some of the things he says are so "off the wall", that I have to respond. Oh well, thanks for the support! :)

  • After reviewing BNCSXSF's profile, I have found out that he lives in Toledo, the same place that infantryUSA lives. JUST GET OVER IT! I have no problem with you. I am sick of you making new accounts just to screw around with me. He left a bunch of railfan-unfriendly comments on my "Fostoria 6/29/08" video, and after telling him to knock it off, he has been following me around, saying this kind of BS to me ever since. He cannot quit! He is the true definition of a internet loser.

  • Don't worry about it my man-typical of some you tube posters-they gain unlimited enjoyment making nasty comments, & have nothing better to do than cause strife & unpleasantness. Just keep on adding vids, & blow this you know what off. He's just another You Tube troll getting his "thrills."

  • I have ran into this individual a few other times. He needs to grow up and take his mental difficulties elsewhere. I want to keep my video comments civil, but with morons like this, I cannot. Glad you guys are sticking up for me. I appreciate it. Hopefully it'll teach him a lesson, but unfortunately, based on past experience with him, it probably won't....

  • Comment removed

  • YOU DICKHEAD,

He is not a damn POSER, YOU STUPID IDIOT FOR SAYING THAT and assuming it. Get off his back and stop all this complaining. So do all us railfans a favor and shut you fucking mouth up. Rich is a great railfan and knows what he is doing and alot of us actaully enjoy his videos and dont call him a wanna be!!! He has put up with you over and over again with this shit, so what now! Ya gonna put your tail between your legs, make another account

  • Thanks for the support! I appreciate it. Notice that his "BNCSXSF" account is gone. He is probably fixing up a new one. I'll be prepared. :)

  • Ahh no prob. Have a Merry Christmas and I hope he doesnt mess with you anymore..

  • Thanks. I appreciate it. Hope you had a Merry Christmas too.

  • Hey Dickhead,

I like Rich's you tube videos. I read you responses and you come off sounding like a real know it all asshole. I personally think all you really know is how to jack your meat, if you can even do that right. So why not do us all a favor and shut the fuck up. Rich is a great guy and he has to put up with a fuckin jerk-ass stalker like you. Gonna change your account again retard?

  • DAMN! thats one way to tell someone off! LOL nice one

  • @324AC who is Rich ? haha i want to see his vids..

  • I'm Rich...

  • @CSXno601 oh, nvm... haha i thought.... nvm.

    great video btw!

  • Thanks!

  • I also hear you band your knees on the desktop controls. It hasn't happened to me, but I guess if it happens, it happens.

  • I like the desktop controls myself. Except, of course, when we are making a reverse move. The fact that the horn, bell, sand and lead axle sand are in the form of a button, rather than whisker stick, or joy-stick (aka electronumatic switch), is nice. Although you cannot "milk" the horn with a button. It is also harder to see your co-worker when you have a control stand. They both have pro's and con's.

  • The GE widecabs all have the same cab set-up, but the locomotive itself performs differently. Except on the newer GEVO units, the locomotives are once again being equipped with AAR control stands.

  • Hey CSX no 601 the real CSX no 601 is coming back soon!!!!!!!!!!remember me from this past summer. Time to reclaim my name

  • Say what? The real CSXno601? I am. Who is this?

  • Ill be back soon
