Just because you have insurance and have saved money for emergencies doesn't mean that a person can't go bankrupt unless of course you have an endless amount of money. Most people who live in the real world have to pay other bills besides medical and insurance bills. I wake up every day in excruciating pain. Getting needles in my neck and back is so much fun! Not knowing if I am going to be paralyzed or have a stroke when receiving them is such a thrill!!! Thank you that is sweet! My paycheck looked great on paper. However, I was paying $200.00 a week in taxes. Then you have write offs but it still isn't cash. Like gas for instance. I travelled a lot. Daycare, oil for the house, electricity, gas, food, car repairs, and a loan on an older car. So, it is hard to save.

I had health insurance. I was injured while I was driving as an RN Hospice Case Manager. When I became disabled and unable to work, it is a law that the company has to offer one Cobra. Well, worker's comp. didn't pay me anything for 1 year and 1 month so therefore I couldn't afford to pay for me or my son. You better hope and pray that your karma doesn't catch up with you and your family. I'd love you to walk in all of our shoes who became disabled. I wish it on you tenfold.

I had surgery once and my private pay insurance carrier only paid for the surgery BUT NOT for the anesthesia. WHAT?! Yes, they truly wanted me to be cut open without anesthesia!!! I had to fight for the right to have this in the operating room. I still have the paper work, if no one believes me.

I worked with a pharmacist and his wife is a nurse now working with Aetna. Her job is easy and her job is to deny people. This has nothing to do with my lawsuit. I didn't have healthcare after I was struck. My son was denied by Mr. Donohue who is still currently employed. Chips turned down my son reason being, "income too low." This is PA. We were failed because I had a house. Until, you don't have adequate assets you are denied. This happened. Bucks Couhty Assistance Office, Mr. Donohue, did. Probably because I had a house. However, that went into foreclusure status. Chips is the program for children in PA and my son was denied because my income was too low. This is the truth.

So, I asked Chips what do I do? The application goes back to the welfare office. Well, I guess until my house would have been auctioned off he wasn't getting anything. He never had benefits until I received worker's comp. and then Chips accepted him. That is a year and 1 month later.

Any tractor trailer has to be insured for at least 1 million dollars. My first attorney didn't submit the vocational expert reports and the two EMG's on time. So, the judge would not allow them into court. So, I hired another attorney and they never received my entire file from the first attorney. So, I got screwed. We had to settle for $250,000. 1/3 still went to the first attorney.

The judge was not going to extend the court date which didn't leave my new attorneys with anytime. Worker's comp. had to get paid and this left me with $76,000. I was earning $55,000. in 2004.

Im british I had no charges for anything I had mri scans and all sorts of things and generally I had a really easy time .

Thank you.  It was trying. It is hard enough to deal with the physical and emotional symptoms without having to worry about money. I'm not finanially secure like I should have been. Right now I am getting a pool to use therapeutically. I'm afraid of my financial reserve, however.

That is so sweet! My friend who is my age is a quadraplegic. I've known him and his mom for 2o years. He just got cut off of medical disability and has to reapply. Some crappy reason. His mom is 67 has a tumour in one eye and had her top lip removed because of skin cancer. She is still denied medicare until she gets certain documents. It is always the run around.

Thanks it does. It is offset because I currently get worker's compensation. I just had an IME with a worker's comp judge. My lawyer said worker's comp usually stops around 5 years unless you have an amputation. Then disability will increase.

Thanks for asking hurt4ever1ms. Yes, I became eligible for disability in October 2006. One has to out of work for 1 year to become eligible. Usually every one is turned down. Then you have a hearing and all your medical records are reviewed before a judge.

My son was only 6 weeks old when my mom died. My fiance left me when he was 6 months old for another girl. He did come back.

Yes, however, he met someone on the internet and she called my house. I didn't think anything about it, I thought it was his sister's boyfrend's sister. Then shortly, he went camping by himself to think. There was an icestorm. I had a girl call my apartment about a year later asking for him. She said she met him at a specific bar and he had worked on her mother's car. Another girl knocked on the door in Jan or Feb this yearat 12 am.

I'm not. It could be worse. I'm upset about my cervical disc abutting the spinal cord. If it gets worse and I already have disc degenerative disease, I guess I wouldn't be able to use my arms. I'm afraid of becoming a quadraplegic. My lower back is messed up too. In the morning until I start walking around, taking medication and having coffee I am a mess. I live in pain all the time. I see the doctor today. I get needles in my neck (epidurals). I had a raziotomy.

Thanks SezDevil. I can still move and I am happy about that. The neurosurgeon said last year that he has seen people who have had their discs decompress. So, I am getting this pool and will be floating around. I have a really good doctor. I have a friend who is a paraplegic and his story doesn't even compare to mine.
