i use to live down the street from reverend davis. this is a shot in the dark, but, i use to listen to you play guitar in your parent's house in queens. somewhere near a busy street and i think your room was on the 2nd floor, window facing the street. name of other students, john from england and allen. would be great to know if this is you, tamara., maybe you know my big brother, his nick name was "wicked".
He seems like a really nice, down to earth kind of guy. The kind of guy I'd love to hang out with. Not many laid back, easy goin' people left in this cold old world anymore...
For over twenty years, Roy spent many a week at our "Arts" summer camp, Med-O-lark in Maine. He was always loved by all, and is one of the finest musicians and friends that we have ever known. Roy, Where are you? Please get in touch. Neal
Thanks for posting this....Roy is one of my guitar heros. Had the pleasure of seeing him as he passed through Santa Barbara CA ( early 80's) in his Airstream heading up the coast to his next gig. Someone from the folk music society grabbed him for a living room concert, best ten bucks I ever spent ! Thanks for posting this !
It's a Rosewood 1930's Kay Master. He also played a (may have had more than one) Gibson Nick Lucas (fancier fretboard inlays and sans white headstock) and both guitars trib the Gibson that jazz legend Nick Lucas used to play back in the twenties.
I shouldn'ta made that sound quite so 'Gospel accordin to NossedEvo'. I'm pretty sure, but you might want to run that by some of the YouTubers who do a fine job of covering RB.
I had the pleasure of doing a group guitar session with Roy in New York. Man, it was very difficult picking, but it's true, the guy is so cool, so laid back and real friendly.
