Not dissing your opinion but I'll say that not many people understood Bladerunner & it was a flop, but now it's an all-time classic. LH's become the same. Some things are way ahead of their time; that's what maverick thinking is, & maverick thinkers ideas' become the standard for peoples' lives sometimes 30 years later. Mavericks are usually derided & ridiculed in their time but without them we'd never evolve or expand our consciousness. We once laughed at a guy who said the world was round.

This movie is fucking stupid. I watched it. I cant fucking stand it. Its a little creepy in parts but otherwise its just plain boring and too open to interpetation. You all are extrapilating waaaaay too much from this movie too. "The doorbell rang and no one answered was the directors way of saying prices of milk in Holland are too high" or some shit like that. Horrible film just admit it and move on! Let the flaming begin!

If you're a thinking person (unlikely), Greil Marcus' book 'The Shape of Things to Come' contains an extended essay about this this film, along with discussions of David Lynch and Bill Pullman in general. I never understood this film when I first saw it. After reading Marcus's book, I want to see it again.
