And one last thing.The guide here virtually says that the way to get the best picture quality is to simply turn on all the options in the ps dashboard.If that was the case,then why sony even bothered to put them as OPTIONS?So that somebody could not choose them and get worse quality as the result?

As for the super white thingy it's mainly for watching movies and it makes no difference in games.

And last but not least 1080i vs 720p is a bit complicated.The general rule is that it is best to use the native resolution off your screen.ANY form of scaling to something other than your native resolution will decrease the image quality.Apart from that usually 720p is best for gaming and 1080i is best for video.There is to much tech stuff into all of that and i'll not try to explain it all.

Wow,some really uninformed opinions overhere.First and foremost the full rgb range is NOT for all tv's.If you don't have a tv that specifically says that is capable of full range rgb the image you'll get will miss some shades of black.That means that you will NOT get full details on shadows and staff.This option makes the image darker which tricks the users into thinking that it is richer.In fact it is worse,it's not just poorly calibrated,you don't get to see all the stuff you were supposed to.

Help! I have a ps3 slim and a HDTV(philips 42") whenever I start a game or blu-ray movie, the screen goes black, then black and grey vertical lines come, go away and then the game comes.

And why isn't my blu-Ray movie full screen even tho I have everything set on full screen?

The only thing that is better in the xbox is the contrast, by changing this in your PS3 you'll have better image than ever. AWESOME, but shaky camera sucks...
