  • Having a compassionate heart and working for others all the time is rare. And doing it without personal gain is even harder to find. HH Dalai Lama is an extremely rare jewel.

  • Well, this may be a bit extreme, but previous incarnations of the Dalai Lama have been responsible for quite a bit of bloodshed. It is said that 1000 abbots of the Kagyu lineage were beheaded by the mongols at the request of the "great" fifth Dalai Lama, and their monasteries forceably converted to Gelugpa ones. Both Nyingma and Kagyu know what the yellow-hats have tried to do in the past and are right not to trust this man fully.

  • Why, as Buddhists, do we fight? With the holy mind, there is no sectarianism. Karmapa and Dalai Lama are great bodhisattvas. Anything else you see is attachment to your own ego.

    Maybe Karmapa took two bodies - it wouldn't be the first time this has happened in Tibet.

    Fighting just shortens the lives of our teachers. Please, follow the Karmapa's teachings, HHDL's, Buddha's and find peace in your heart and love for others. Please stop this egotistical arguing...

I like his way of teaching,but in politics he is a little bit unlucky.And you as a responsible buddhist should also read the newspapers and see what is going on in the relative world!

  • not every karmapa has left a predictionletter.

    u can read it in the karmapa papers.sharmapa didn't have one of the 16th karmapa.the letter of situ is supposed 2 be faked by himself.

  • the letter has his handwriting and spellingmistakes.he refused 2 let his letter be proved by specialists.The new karmapas often introduced themselves at the age of 2-3 years, as our 17th did.

  • It has never been the Job of a Dalai Lama, to involve in the buissiness of the Kagyü Lineage.

    It has allways been the Job of Shamar Rimpoche (Shamarpa)to recognize a new Karmapa. He is the first Lineageholder, who is respohsible for the Lineage during the absence of a Karmapa.

  • You should read some of the history before you say things like that. For much of history the Shamar Tulku was banned and other people like the Karmapa's attendants held the prediction letters.

  • yes he was banned,but as i know from the gelugs because of politacal reasons.not from the Kagyue an not from the karmapa at that time. he was acceptet later again after karmapa asked4it.
