There is a 60 "long play" version of this commercial. It may still exist in my VHS library but would take time to find. I'm sure the music was produced solely for the commercial but if anybody has any insight to the music, your input would be appreciated!
Classic 80s cool car...but weak as hell engine wise. It was sharp looking though..I remember the girl on "Hunter" drove one..it was kind of a cool chick sports car..I remember my mom had the Datsun 280 Turbo Z-X and was so pissed that this car was referred to as a "Turbo Z" as well
The Dodge Daytona was all Dodge...they started engineering these in the late 70's....Nothing to do with the Mitshubishi...
These cars were reliable, but pricey for the nicer models...so lack of them left today,as they sold less than 50,000 anually..I had a few in my family and 2 were 300,000 miles trouble free...
amazing how dodge stuff things up, they took a good car (for the time) like the mitsubishi starion, and made it less aerodynamic and changed it from rear wheel drive to front wheel drive then called it the daytona. should have left it the way it was. much better car.
Daytona may look like a Starquest but it is totally unrelated to it. The Daytona is based off the K-car and has nothing to do with Mitsubishi body or powertrain wise. There are plenty of fast Daytonas out there and drive excellent. FWD is also lighter ;).

I saw a Dodge Daytona the other day. It was on the back of a truck being hauled off to the crusher.
