I think they should just release as a direct to dvd despite the fact that they wasted a lot of money for this movie. If it was up to me & I had my ways, I would redo the CGI animation but keep the audio tracks from the casting.

This is really just a pitch trailer. It's in the very early stages- the movie would never look anything like this. This isn't the final trailer to the movie, it's just what was shown to the team of animators, directors, sponsors and investors.
My son & I met Producer George Johnsen in the Eastwood Music Recording Studio @ WB during a break in his scoring the movie (about 2008), what a nice & proud guy. He told us then even that he spent 5-6 years just getting permission from product companies to use their characters in his movie...that was a sign!
@632waldo They probably spent the money on hookers and cocaine and then hired the hookers to animate.... I'm only joking, though; that's kind of insulting to the hookers.

As with many movies, the money is probably mostly on the acting. Charlie Sheen, Eva Longoria, etc, not cheap.
