@quidwitch I'm sure they still were "some concerts" based on vocals and musical talents alone. People nowadays need those things to show up their mediocre vocals. But I do see what you're saying. Just thought I'd say that. lol
phillipe, you have a naive & quite rude point of view, maybe one day you may open up your ears to tasteful music but for now we'll leave you with the singles chart & your lady ga ga tunes.
Macca you've still got it Kiddo & Ringo is a legend of course
@phillipe1497 I seen Elton John December 2011 play live in Melbourne & he had 5 NEW song's that he had just recorded, so sorry get your facts correct before you make a bigger fool of yourself.Peace & Love ....
@phillipe1497 Do you honestly think that Paul gives a fuck about how many people buy his albums anymore, or if his latest single charts higher than a fucking Jessie J song? The man is 69 years old and has more money than you're able to conceive of. If he wants to put out a record, he'll do it whether you approve of it or not.
If the the pop singles market is your only criterion to gauge a new song's artistic merit, you don't deserve to listen to music at all.
To some extent I think Paul does care how much his album sells. Not because he doesn't have enough money, but because record sales - right or wrong - often dictate how an album will be judged. Paul is not your typical 69 year-old man. He is still very proud (though I believe the size of his so-called ego is overstated; for example, if he had such a huge ego, he would not have given away great songs like Come and Get It, World Without Love, Goodbye, On the Wings of a Nightingale).

Imagine (no pun intended) if they had stage pyro-technics back in the Beatles' time. Wow. Those would have been some concerts!!
