  • is permenet?

  • haha epic

  • Pilots are smarter than the losers who wrote this ad. That's why they are well paid.

  • @KSCrosby LOLOLOLOL. Well paid. Wow dude, you're hilarious.

  • I m Born To Fly Die to Try

  • @FLIRTINGBOY1 so? what the hell are you? is he flight attendant? hahaha ;P

  • Comment removed

  • Hmmm. Questionable if I am going to become a pilot

  • @RainfulPhenix commercial aircraft are pressurized

  • cat is also short for category as in a category III approach.

  • I love pilots they are so smart, sexy and nerdy! :)

  • what is the word?? c _ _. im serious! what is the word?

  • @seehan1 cat

  • @seehan1 cat

  • "I hope we're sitting next to each other"

hmm.. for some reason I don't get the whole Idea... what did he mean?

  • @genrolecaspe

The pilots always sit next to eachother in the cockpit , that's the point :-)

  • @genrolecaspe generally, don't pay attention to anything you see about aviation on TV or any kinda of media because it's NOT true!

  • I think it's because all the things going on your mind is: Alpha, Echo, Charlie, Charlie, Boeing, Airbus, 747, A380, Cessna, Runway, number, left, right, down, up, altitude, etc.... And there's no 'cat' word in a flight... Neither a dog.... hmm... maybe it's caused by barely speaking that kind of word or thing...

Hmm... I always wanted to be a pilot.... So I better start speaking this cat dog monkey donkey kind of pets.....

  • @genrolecaspe Actually there is a Cat word in flying, Its CAT I landing, CAT ll landing, and CAT lll landing conditions :)

  • @scamper246 Also means Clear Air Turbulence.

  • lol tha tright guy is defenitly ken (boyfrend of barbie)

  • Comment removed

  • SO WERE THEY SITTING WITH EACH OTHER OR NOT!!??

  • hahahaa this is so funny LOL... good ad

  • YES, I hope your sitting next to each other to!

  • I hope we're sitting next to each other.

  • Canadian pilots, and no, canadian pilots are not as stupid as they make us out to be. We tend to be smarter than the american ones. And I am one.

  • its impossible

  • funny commercial.

  • the sad thing is being a pilot requires more intelligence and the ability to multitask than just about any other perfusion. Im only 14 and am taking flying lessons, luckily i do extremely well in school so it comes easy to me.

  • I think this is hilarious (or is that, 'heelayreeus'?? please check my spelling).. I've been flying 43 + years, over 26,000 hrs, currently still at it - long haul wide-body and I finally get the explanation for all my 'cognitive problems'. Thank you ever so much .. by the way, I'm trying to get a window seat for my next flight, any suggestions?

  • omg please... airplane cabin is pressurized to an altitude of maximum 8000 ft. most of u people lives at higher altitudes all ur life except for who lives at higher level. but there are no damage to the brain due to the pressurization sistem !

i ve seen very stupid collegue but was not caused by the air unpressurised at altitude XDDD

  • "I hope we're sitting next to each other." LOL!!!!!! And I'm a pilot, too!

  • I've got it!

    Its Can

  • @LionInTodayFilms no I think its car...

  • all right fine, i'll stay below 8000ft next time

  • cat? where in the world do you come up with porridge?

  • well our brains probably do shrink from the dehydration that occurs at altitude...I think...I dont really know but what I do know is that I'm so underpaid it's criminal.

  • Wait... explain "shrinks". As in actually compresses in volume or loses mass?

  • Who cares when we pilots get laid more than others !

  • @ARKIEX yeah im sure your a pilot...

  • @ARKIEX they had better NOT

  • @KSCrosby

    hah !

  • wow pilots make sure they get you to your destination in a safe way, then you do this to them, yep, ass holes

  • i want the captain's hat

  • im a pilot and when i watched this it made me cry laughing, its so funny!!

  • wtf is with all the people saying this is bull crap? I don't know if flying shrinks your brain or not, maybe it does for a short period of time, but thats not the point.

    It's a joke!!!

  • lol 3 letters starts with c its "cat"

  • lol thats me in 30 years

  • is there any truth about the exhaust and petrol fume s in airplane cabins. obviously there is bound to small particles just a like in cars where the air passes over the exhaust manifold. is airplane air quite dirty

  • @210482fmj No. The air in an airliner is a combination of recirculated air and pressured fresh air. Modern airliners have various stages of compressors on the engines. In order to pressurize the aircraft, some of the pressure is diverted into the cabin.

Despite popular belief, aircraft are not perfectly air tight. The leaks are quite small, if you were to stop pressurizing, the aircraft would reach ambient pressure after 10-20 min depending on the age and size of the aircraft.

  • @Stealtht6 that still doesn't mean the air is very clean though.

  • @210482fmj Well as clean as the air outside the aircraft and the overall cabin. The air being introduced comes from before the combustion chamber so my point was more about the lack of exhaust/fuel fumes.

There is ongoing research into air filters for the ventilation system, but the upper air is significantly cleaner since you are away from all the low level pollution.

  • @210482fmj actully, the air that goes into the cabin comes from an area inside the engine, but it is way in front of the combustion area

  • Pilots are sexy...message me :-*

  • @smodeLL ;-* i m pilot ..

  • Hey I'm a pilot /:|

  • LMAO! Seriously people? I love how naive some people can be. You don't lose your brain or knowledge by becoming a pilot. If this "theory" is right then that would mean that our Astronauts in space right now are the dumbest people in the whole universe, correct? Nice joke ;)

  • Sounds like me now, just wait and see when I start flying... Wait what was I saying?

  • I hope we're sitting next to each other LMAO

  • Cat

  • waste of brain to make this commercial

i didn't get it one bit

  • @marconavarro212 You must be a Pilot then :)

  • @marconavarro212

no i'm not ...this video is like a dick in a lesbians party ... 99.99% of the world don't know anything about flying

tis guy should make theyr own page LOL

  • That's alot of crap, flying can't shrink your brain!

  • @MrTrainwreck09 Its done it to me but I won't stop flyin'

  • @TheJSBachMr Yesh, at leasht I shink sho. Sho far.

  • hahahahhaha

  • so.... instead of becoming a pilot... i can be a drug addict and feel like a pilot????:))))

  • lol that;s sow not true :) i always do cross puzzels when i fly or i let the plane fly :))

  • cat.

  • I love that so much!! So true of the many pilots I deal with every day..

  • @TheJSBachMr

Of course not, and I should know! I've been flying all my life. Say again, what was the question.

  • what did the captain says?

  • @TheJSBachMr According to our research it's temporary.

  • @defalconer I'm lad it's temporary... Cause I'm gonna be a pilot after finishing BS aircraft maintenace...

  • @defalconer are you sure its temporary ....you know G.W.Bush was a pilot and his one looks quite permanent

and i get class 1 medical test ...they never talk about stuff like this ....

  • @defalconer usually the effect when we travel a lot, we forget what day it is or what city we are in. Happens to me a lot!

  • @defalconer Well your research is bullshit.

  • Touché @diegodaudt . Well thought out argument.

  • ha ha i hope were sitting next to eachother!!! XD

  • What's he saying in the beginning?

"Synonym for ... three letters starts with a C"

  • @neriksson92

"Synonym for feline, three letters, starts with a C..."

  • @defalconer

    Thx! :D

  • @defalconer cat ?

  • @defalconer CAT?

  • @defalconer CAT

  • Their uniform looks real neat!

  • JUST STUUUUUUUUUUUPPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am a pilot... Is this true?

  • @ragnarox16

yeah, when we were researching this spot before we shot, we found that your brain shrinks the longer you are in the air. there are reports of stewardesses losing their keys after long transatlantic flights. and, the effects (such as cognitive abilities) can last for at least 5 days, long after you've landed

  • @defalconer Some flight crew end up in the wrong hotel rooms completely. For 8 or 9 hours before they figure it out!

  • @defalconer Would you mind citing the research that indicates a connection between the size of the brain and cognitive abilities and/or standardized intelligence scores? This video suggests a degree of negative cognitive functioning that is simply not supported by any research I have done on the subject. I am a pilot so I'm quite interested in this. There is definite research that suggests pilots experience higher lifetime doses of radiation than the average person. tinyurl: /6dofb2r

  • @defalconer maybe just fatigue?

  • @defalconer

Cannot that "brain shrinkage" be caused by jet-lag? Why people that live at high altitudes aren't affected by this hypothetic temporal disease? What are its causes? Please reply

  • @Gian092

I think it is to do with rapid changes of pressure that shrinks your brain. People living in high attitudes adapt to their environment and the pressure may be costant, as they are living on the same level. If you are flying, the pressure will change a couple of times because the plane will gain and lose attitude, which may be the cause of brain shrinkage.

  • @RainfulPhenix

Pressure will remain broadly the same since airline aircrafts that travel at high altitutes have cabin pressurization.

  • @ragnarox16 I kinda doubt it. If it shrinks your brain, you wouldn't remember how to fly the plane.Besides the end kinda helps my answer.

  • @MultiRandyorton123 I did some researching and I believe its true. Of course pilots don't end up that stupid though lol

  • @ragnarox16 I guess your right.

  • @MultiRandyorton123 I hate the idea of my brain shirking though!!! Well at least after 6 years of consistent flying I don't 'feel' any stupider lol

  • @ragnarox16 If it made you as stupid as the video made it seem,There goes my dream of being a pilot!

  • @MultiRandyorton123 Nah! And I doubt it ever will mate! haha

Shoot high and go for your dreams!

  • @ragnarox16 oh wow! you are a pilot? hey i think you are very handsome!! lol

  • @ragnarox16 If you're a pilot why haven't you been paying attention with Human Performance & Limitations?

Dalton's law....... lower oxygen pressure and brains don't go together.....

  • @kaaskopje1988 Why you might ask? Because when you fly pressurized aircrafts Dalton's Law is not an important rule that has to be worried about and non-pressurized planes usually cannot fly at heights which cause 'hypoxia', which is every pilots primary concern when it comes down to low O2 pressure. The effects of low O2 on the brain over the course of someone's lifetime does not matter as much nor is the effect bad enough to deteriorate pilot performance. Get your facts straight buddy.

  • @ragnarox16 what do you fly and what airline do you work for

  • Lmfao, tbh I think most of us are like that already even without the frequent flying 8-D

  • Very amusing.

  • gee I hope we're sitting next to eachother!

  • "Ah, I hope we're sitting next to each other."

    "Yeah, me too."

I'm a pilot, and I thought that this commercial was hilarious!

  • omg the irony :(

  • Brilliant video! "hope we're sitting next to each other" Just LOST IT at that point!! xD

  • its insulting but i wall fav it anyway

  • Lighten up people, the category is Comedy...

  • best thing i have seen in awille 5 stars

  • adverts...

  • Everybody chill, it's a joke. Lighten up!

  • Oops... :-) Sorry if I offended anyone. That was unintentional. I am a 19,000 hr plus airline pile-it myself with 6 type ratings and over 25 years of flying experience in many different types of aircraft. bobertgreat, you are very correct. It is a very intense school, and very expensive, and once completed the job market makes the school look like a breeze to say the least. My apologies. bricenhoyle3, you seem to have a shortage of verbs in your vocabulary. I bet you're a pilot aren't you? ;-)

  • And... that first comment I made concerning not being smart enough and lazy is an inside joke in the industry. If you stay in this business long enough you'll be saying the same thing and laughing at everyone else the entire time. The old saying was "i only have to be smart enough to fill out a deposit slip"... well, direct deposit took care of that! - akthumbpicker - :-)

  • @akthumbpicker i am mate, i find this video quit funny :D

  • @akthumbpicker Just wondering, how much do airline pilots make starting out?

  • @platinum243125 The airline business isn't what it used to be and it will never go back to that again... regardless of what any of those flight school recruiters say. I know some young folks who have just recently got into the right seat of a commuter plane making 25K a year.... with 150K in student loans. Their chances of landing that "dream job" making 200K a year is about 60/40... meaning they have about a 40% chance of getting that job. Not good odds, unless you can keep education cost down.

  • @platinum243125 Its not as good as before, and starting off in a commuter on the right seat can get you between 15k-30k a year. As you progress into captain of a commuter, you can earn from 60-70k a year. Working for a major airline as a co-pilot can get you 80k and as a captain anywhere from 100k - 150k. For international flight, the rate per hour can increase, as it did to mine when I became certified to fly internationally.

  • @akthumbpicker yes.

  • Go fuck yourself Akthumbpicker

  • They're pilots because they're not smart enough to do anything else and they're too lazy to work for a living.

  • @akthumbpicker no they aer not they go through so much schooling and tests u need to shut up and there school is not the cheapest more like one of the most expensive

  • I took this totally differently when I first saw it.. only because I worked in air traffic control and sometimes you really do wonder if pilots' brains shrink...

  • HAhahahahahahahahah this is hilarious XD Especially the last part XD

  • @lagraf05 lol, 15 dme, straight in ils with crazy step down fixes near mountains and multiple traffic. thats like what i had to do in North Vegas (KVGT)

  • ummmm.. is it cat???

  • lmao, good one

  • since these two are obvioulsy airline pilots and no netjets pilots, that makes it funny.

Netjets pilots are just a few steps ahead of the rest. I really enjoy riding with those guys.

  • I am working on my PPL then going for commercial. I thought this was pretty funny lol =P

  • i'm a pilot and i love it... get a sense of humour y'all!

  • i fly and i find this funny.... i wanna know why it shrinks your brain!

  • thats about how your brain feels after completing and intense instrument flight, shooting approaches all the way to minimums :-)

  • I had to watch the video 3 times to understand it - wonder if that's because of having flown 105 this month already? :-D

  • @layoverlover LOL! that made me laugh all over again!

  • LOL hope we are sitting next to each other! lol!

  • Now, can I have my wasted 31 seconds back, please?

  • actually its kinda true. to become a pilot ain't rocket science. All you need is alot of memory work and basically some talent to fly. Anyone can fly, its just that the opportunity to become a pilot is very expensive or rare. Just imagine flying as driving a car going from point A to point B and talking on the phone. Flying is fun though :D

  • "i hope were sitting next to each other" CLASSIC

  • I always speak with airline pilots and they tell me being a pilot you dont to be spaceman to be a pilot but just use common sense and be alert

  • i feel disgusted after watching this

  • GO FUCK YOURSELF ... moron

  • LMAO that was full of win HAHAHAHA XD "I hope we're sitting next to each other" xD

  • It's a funny video. If you're a pilot and can't laugh at yourself then you probably don't deserve the job.

  • Capt: I Hope Wer Seating Nxt To Each Other

    1st Officer: Me 2

  • man i so like want to be a pilot big tym bu these guys here who call themselves pilots are surely tanishing their own images thereby destroyin the entire meaning of the word pilot coz here most of wat am reading is some dudes thinkin they are doing the most important job in the world, its a cool job but hey guys soldiers sacrifice their lives better thn u do every second paramedics save lives, so do doctors point is every job has a purpose and all jobs are just as important

  • Lol Rofl this is hilarious XD hahahahahahaha OMG this is amazing

"I hope we're sitting next to each other" "Me too" Lol Wow XD

  • 'i hope we're sitting next to eachother..' 'me too' LOL xD

  • Haha.. I've been flying commercial aircraft for years now and i think thats really funny.

  • looooooooooooooooool xD

  • @MrWillydoit Why, exactly?

  • "i hope we're sitting next to eachother" lol

  • ha! that is funny

  • How does flying make you stupid? I don't get it.

  • do you think pilots are moron? well effin you

  • This is hilarious. These pilots are really dumb. It goes to show that anyone can become a good pilot aslong as you have the money.

  • Comment removed

  • @sheetbug you can be a pilot as long as you have the money, as far as being "good", that has nothing to do with money.

  • @flynmid there are plenty of good/safe pilots out there without flying jobs working in supermarkets. Most of them would tell you "if only I had the money".

  • @sheetbug not really sure what a lack of money has to do with having a job, but ok

  • I think the only way frequent flying can "shrink your brain" is because there is so much fear mongering about airports and airplanes. When you're in an environment of fear your brain goes into a more mundane state of mind IE survival mode and doesn't think about things like self actualization.

The actual experience of flying often is one of mind expansion, change of perspective, adventure, pushing boundaries... the list is endless. All things that please the intellectual.

  • lol, again a dutch advertisement

  • I'm not a frequent flyer but I guess my brain has shrunk anyway coz I didn't get it.

  • haha they said"ugggg i hope we are sitting next to each other....yea me two"

  • this is why Otto Pilot was invented, sorry, that's Autopilot.

  • Well i find this to be very funny......I am a pilot and when myself and about 12 other pilots watched this I almost fell out of my chair laughing because we all knew a couple pilots who we could see doing this!!!

  • ***CONTINUED***

But yes, that being said... and how some others have said to be a pilot you must be mature, wise and knowledgeable...and I f I may add to not let your ego get as big as the cockpit you fly in.

  • I give my respect to other pilots, the study can be very intense, as I am currently doing lessons to get my PPL, but I also hate it when SOME pilots (the few selected ones that don't know shit really) think they know everything/ think they are always right, a good pilot is a pilot who never says he knows absolutely everything, but one who is continuously learning something new and doesn't find the need to show off his status of being a pilot.

    ***CONTINUE NXT COMMENT**

  • @MetalJaXtA666 exactly, once a pilot thinks they "know everything" flying becomes unsafe

  • arrogant pilots crack me up. I don't think any of you are better than a bus driver just higher paid. This isn't the sixties. People don't look up to you anymore and that seems to bug you pilots. Your out of touch with reality.

  • @cooltall1 lol bitter much! every time my career comes up in conversation, people are ALWAYS in awe, being a pilot comes with prestige. and sure we shuttle people around like bus drivers, since....well.....it IS after all "AIR TRANSPORT"

  • @cooltall1 I would like to see a bus driver land a 700,000lb "bus" in a 200ft overcast with a 25kt crosswind, and heavy turbulence. That's why pilots put in thousands of hours of training, and sometimes only slightly higher pay than a bus driver. Ever seen the starting salary for a pilot. It's a lot lower than you think.

  • This could happen when there is a lack of Oxygen case (hypoxia).
